Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Lexi's eyes fluttered, and she immediately frowned, her head twisting side to side frantically. She moaned and her eyes snapped open. She stared at the bright white world in panicked fear. Her head burned with a feirce intensity, the light boring holes into her eyes. Her chest rose and fell quickly as she tried to breathe. She was barely aware of what was around her, besides for there being pain. Lots of pain.

Her hand pulled up against the restraint and her eyes immediately widened to complete and total terror. Her body started to tremble, and then she started struggling and sobbing, crying her heart out. She couldnt scream. Not any more. She didnt have the energy. So she just cried. This was the final blow to her broken heart. She was chained up like an animal.

Lexi tried to tell herself that it would be alright. That she had to calm downm she forced herself to take slow deep breaths, thinking nothing but happy thoughts. As her sanity started to return, she noticed a voice. It was calming, like a soft summer breeze, and it was very familiar... Lexi froze, her head slowly turning to look at Chase. Her mouth fell open slightly and her face contorted in pain. "Chase..." she croaked. There was a pause as she tried to decide what to say.

"You're ok." She said in relief. As always, that was her first priority. Her muscles were tense, pulling on the restraints. Then she bit her lip, her trembling not slowing. "Why are you..." she winced and bit her tongue to hold back a cry as her stitches pulled. "Why are you here?" It was painful to talk. It was painful to see him here. But somehow she was relieved. The little part of her that wasnt hurt by his words still loved him dearly.

E M M A | 1540 comments As she said his name, hot tears blurred his vision, and a soft cry of relief escaped his lips. She was consious, and the damage hadnt been as bad for her to be able to speak, and move somewhat. "Lexi... you're okay," he whispered, his face scrunching in both an effort not to cry and in pain seeing her so broken. Again. Wha could have possibly happened to her? She looked like shed been beaten, by the way her fce and arms were bruises and battered. All because he couldn keep his big mouth shut, because he had been too selfish. Chase smiled down sadly at Lexi, his bottom lip trembling as he fought to keep back his sanity.

He looked away briefly at her question, silent for a few moments while he regained his bearings. It felt like if he talked, he would start bawling like an idiot again. "B-because I was worried about you," he whispered, inching closer as his blue eyes looked her over. He squeezed her hand with comfort, trying to help the redhead relax. "Sh, sh, don't move, you'll be okay..." Chase soothed, his own voice wavering and cracking in certain places. He sounded like he was going through puberty again. "I'm sorry this happened... I really am..." Chase began, inshling sharply as the tears began to flow down his cheeks, dripping off his sculpted jaw onto his lap.

"I'm sory i hurt you last night, I said too much, I didnt mean for it to escalate like that... I was just so afraid of being left behind I just-" chase cut himself off, finding himself babbling and talking quickly. He took a deep breath, an restarted himself. "I'm sorry I left you, that I let this happen... I didnt think-" chase broke off, crying into his arms. He cried more than the average teenage female, he knew. The guilt ate away at him from the inside, making him feel absolutely worthless, a complete jerk. He didnt deserve true love, he couldn't treat what he had correctly. Instead, he hurt them, he chased after them and broke their hearts. He couldn't forget the shocked look Lexi had given him the night before, hearing such harsh snippiness coming from him.

"You look so... Awful..." Chase whispered, wiping his face with the back of his hand, his other ruffling her red tangled locks spread wildly on her pillow. He couldn't help himself, resting a hand on her chest and donating a small fraction of his essence he had just gained back into her body. Immediately, the headaches were started, but it had been worth it. A few bruises disappeared, and it put chase at ease.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Lexi managed a small smile. "More or less." She whispered, teying to lighten up the situation a little bit. Lexi bit her lip when she heard his apologies, and crying. He seemed so broken, just like she was, and it made her feel horrible. "No." She said as firmly as a weak, recently dying person could. "No dont you dare be sorry." She said again. "Please. This was all my fault. I didnt want to hurt you. So I left. And I ended up hurting you more." She shook her head, the tears coming to her eyes. She wasnt able to brush them away as she had no arm movement. "I cant live with myself. I hate me. Is that nornal? I hate myself. I hate that I hurt you so much." She said, shaking her head faster as the tears started to fall.

"I was so worried." She whispered. I was so worried that you were going to die and I would be left all alone again. Like when I was young. I was so worried I was going to lose you that I pushed you away. And I cant forgive myself for that. So I dont expect you to either." She finished. She loved him. And she had hurt him. That thought made her want to stab a knife through her heart. Bur she wouldnt waste his life like he had asked her not to.

Than she smirked. "Why thank you. Way to win a ladies heart. Just say that and youll have them all come running." She teased, shaking her head. The she felt some of the pqin go away and her eyes widened. "No Chase! Dont give me anything! Dont you dare heal me ever again!" She ibsisted. Then she smiled and shook her head. "I was crying in an alley for a couple of hours, and a gang beat me up." She explained, managing a small shrug despite her bandages. Then she looked up at Chase pleadingly. "You have to get me out of these." She said, jerking on the cuffs. "I dont do well with handcuffs and being restrained." She said honestly.

E M M A | 1540 comments Chase was deeply upset, hearing Lexi say she hated herself, that the whole thing was her fault. The angel could never place blame on someone else, wspecailly when it was someone he loved. "Stop. Stop it, stop saying that," chase demanded softly, swallowing the lump in his throat. "You can't always blame yourself, lex, admit it was partly me," he shook his head, his eyes adjusting to the dim light of New York city's beautiful pre morning at six am. He watched transfixed as Lexi cried silently, her tears dripping down her cheek and her neck, as she couldn't have had any way to wipe them away. Chase brushed careful fingers across her face, having taken a tissue from the small nightstand's tissue box. He was experienced with this sort of thing, his touch ever so delicate so as not to stimulate any of her wounds to bleed again.

"I don't want to leave you," chase shook his head stubbornly, one hand gripping the tissue in his fist and the other tracing her scraped knuckles. He was touched that she was so afraid for his health, unable to feel anything but pity for the orphan agent. He had fallen in love with her, and could remember the day he held her in his arms, and vowed never to let anything happen to her, to be the one there for her when she needed him, wether it be a shoulder to cry on, a punching bag to let out all her stress. And look what he had done. "I was only upset with you because I didnt understand any of it... I couldn't... I couldn't let you walk away and leave me alone, I can't handle it again-" chase paused, taking a few moments to himself.

Lexi didnt know about Amanda yet, still, so it would have been probably a bit confusing to her. "I forgive you, I love you," chase whispered, planting soft kisses on her fingers. "Just seeing you here like this... It breaks me, because Its one of those times I can't help," he swallowed, adjusting his chair and resting his head on her bed, face tilted up to Lexi.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry! It's just..." Chase trailed off, his voice shrill in defense. He didnt mean to offend the redhead, clearly not seeing that she had been joking. Then he understood, relaxing in his chair and nodding slowly. The two of them were both messes, and he wasnt sure how it'd all work out. But evetnualy, eventually they'd be happy again. Only if Lexi would let him live her, rake care of her. "It was only the bruises, I swear!" Chase howled, his hands raised in surrender. He lowered his voice remembering that he wasnt supposed to be here, resting his head back on her bed. "I'm fine, I've recovered a bit since last night," chase sighed into a hand.

Her story Caused his chest to ache. A couple hours? She had cried in an alleyway, because he had been so rude. Unwelcoming, unforgiving, angry. He shouldn't have handled it in the way he did, having ony made things escalate from there. "A gang?" Chase repeated incredulously, his soft blue eyes widening. He sill sniffled, a few hiccups escaping here and there. A gang had done this to his girl. Chase wasnt having it, he'd find them and make sure they made it to hell. "Just beat you up? They didnt... Do anything else...?" Chase demanded protectively, his eyebrows knit in furrowed lines. "I don't think I should... I don't want you getting up, not yet," chase sighed softly. "Do you want me to go grab you some new clothes or something though? You left your clothes in my room," chase pointed out, his voice a low murmur. He wasnt sure what they were, if shed end up leaving after all, but this time he'd help support her decision. He had no say in what she did with her life, Lexi James was an adult. Angel or not, he knew the ones Above would keep an eye on her. "Just rest," he instructed softly, rubbing his sleeve against his eyes.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments ((Sorry. I fell asleep as well.))

Lexi bit her lip, sniffling a little as he whiped her face. "But..." she protested, shaking her head. She was caught by the sincerity of his voice however and she bit her lip. "Alright. Fine. It was your fault too." She said, smiling a little. She watched him carefully, her eyes trailing over his messy blonde hair and deep blue eyes. Her muscles were bunched and straining against her restraints subconsciously, but she wasnt bothered by them at the moment.

Then she bit her lip. "I want you to stay with me, but I dont want to hurt you, I cant hurt you. I wouldn't be able to bear it." She looked down and away, her face scrunching up as she tried to gain control of her emotionsm then she looked back at him. "It would be one thing if you were strong and running after me wouldnt kill you..." memories of how horrible he looked after he had stopped her from jumping plauged her mind and she closed her eyes, trying to send them away.

Lexi smiled at him genuinely at his apology. She bit her lip, trying to keep back tears that had come to her eyes, stinging and trying to fall. "Thank you." She said softly. "I love you. And I will always love you." She said softly, smiling.

Then she chuckled. "I was joking!" She exclaimed, shaking her head. "Loosen up a little Chase. You didnt actually offend me." She assure, smiling softly at the panicked look on his face. He really had a soft heart. She couldnt blame him much for how he had reacted to her trying to leave. Lexi felt really badly for not giving a better explanation.

Then shegrew serious. "To be honest, I dont know if they raped me or not. I was barely conscious for a while." She said honestly. "But I woke up with clothes on, so I dont think they did..." she said softly, biting her lip. She really hoped they hadnt. She wanted her first to be with Chase. She was sure about that, and she desperately hoped that dream had not been ruined.

Then she nodded slowly. "Yeah. Clothes would be nice. No offence, but hospital gowns are so uncomfortable." She said honestly, grimacing. She tried to shift to make it more comfortable, but didnt succeed. Her eyes grew wide a little in panic. "No. You dont understand! Ill stay here. I promise!" Her voice was frantic. "Just please. Please take them off my arms!" She begged.

((What color are lexis eyes anyway?? And does she have ginger freckles))

Chase dipped his head in approval at her soft accusation, never thinking he's be more glad to hear himself blamed for something. He hated it when people thought it was all them, that they were the only ones who were wrong. "There," chase smiled weakly, his eyes gazing down into hers. He wouldn't let go of her hand, even if someone walked into the room and tried to get him back to his own room. Chase could walk now, jog if he needed to. At this rate, he just needed to sedate himself for a week's worth of nights, and he'd be back. Hopefully. "Lexi. You're not going to hurt me. Only I can hurt me... Going after you on the balcony and doing stuff like taking your legs from under you was a stupid idea. There's others out there, who can help me while I recover, or just being me back altogether," chase pleaded.

"Just give me one more week, I'll be fine after that, and if have someone watch you...!" He reasoned, the argument his last one in te case. It would suck, badly, if she ended up saying no anyway, but he couldn't be upset with her. That hadnt turned out well. His thumb absently rubbed over her fingers, gently massaging them. "Forever and always," chase mumbled, the last part of a wedding vow. They were meant to be together, they had to. Everything happened for a reason, and Lexi getting hit by that truck had been one of them. The truck incident started it all, with his secret spilling. "I love you, I love you, I love you," chase laughed softy, planting smooches with an exaggerated kissy noise on her face.

"S-sorry... I'm not good at jokes," chase blushed profusely, clearly embarassed he had been so naive. Just a joke, chase. He was just so uptight that day, his love life relying on how he behaved that day, what he said to make a difference in Lexi's mind. He returned the redheads smile, noticing how her lip was bloodied and bruised, slightly swollen. The poor girl... He was tempted to reach out and heal her, but knew he had to save his energy and let Lexi heal on her own. It would possibly stimulate her essence to use her self healing, and he needed to show Lexi that he could recuperate alright.

Chase sucked in a breath, worry plastered across his creased forehead. If Lexi's innocence had been taken from him, he didnt know what he would do. She would have probably felt a little painful if they had, but she seemed fine. In New York City, encountering a gang nearly always ended up with rape, seeing as Lexi was a goregous desirable young woman. "I hope not," he gumbled, lacing his fingers with lexis protectively.

"I'll grab you some clothes once the nurses come in, so they can take are of you for me," chase decided, leaning on an elbow on his knee. "Sorry, love," he grimaced, sympathetic for her misery. He had gotten away with his sweatpants and tshirt because they knew him, and he had only needed to be rested. Her panic set his heart going, his blue eyes widening as ell to match lexi's. "But your essence, what if...?" He trailed off, his words quickly spoken. "I don't think it's a good idea, what if you leave or something, if the angel inside reacts? I don't know about this," chase shook his head, his heart breaking with every shrill plea she gave him. Of course, like any man in a relationship, he relented to her begging. "Fine, only your arms!" He agreed, sighing to himself. He was so easy. Chase n began to unscrew the cuffs, untightening them until they began to open. "Here," chase murmured, removing her delicate hand with tenderness. He did the same to the other hand, kissing the back of it before laying it at her sides.

Just then, a voice sounded in the hallway, and Annie appeared before he could react. "Oh! I thought if find you here," she sighed with relief, clearly having been searching for him a while now. "Chase... I think you should go back to rest," she grimaced, standing shyly by the door. Chase didnt want to, and he wasnt going to. "I'll rest here, I promise," chase said earnestly, already a color to his cheeks. Annie turned on the dimmer lights, making her way towards Lexi's bed. With a sigh, she gave in, not wanting To keep the two loves apart. Chase had suffered enough with his heart. "I'll just take the notes, then," she said meekly, scribbling onto the patient clipboard.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Lexi nodded, relieved. He would be ok. Of course the angels could take care of him. "Ok." She agreed. "But you better be ok by the end of this week." She said seriously, her eyebrow raising. He had to be better, or she couldn't trust herself around him. Then she smiled and giggled as he started saying beatiful words to her, music to her ears. And he kissed her and lexi laughed, squirming around.

The protectiveness she saw in his eyes warmed her to the core. She was safe here. She would be ok. Everything would be ok. That thought almost made her cry from joy. "I love you. I love you so much."

Then she gulped. She had forgotten about the essense thing. That was a problem. But she coupsnt handle these cuffs! She still looked up, pleading with him. She would take her chances. Besides. Her legs would still be restrained... "pweeaze?" She begged, and then grinned triumphantly when he let her go. She immediately took advantage of the liberty of her hands and held Chase, stroking gently as much as she could reach of his arms as she couldnt reach anything else.

When Annie came in, Lexi blushed. It was still somewhat awkward for others to walk in on them like that. Then she bit her lip. "Maybe you should get some rest..." she suggested. "Dont stay here just for me..."

Chase couldn't help but laugh softly, relief flooding over him. Lexi was giving him the chance he had begged for, and he sure wouldn't screw it up this time. "You wouldn't even know I was sick," he swore, his lips trailing along her cheekbone. He wishe that each kiss would make her wounds disappear, so that Lexi could be better again. She seemed so frail, her frame completely battered. It still upset him seeing staples on her forehead and a huge bandage around her stomach. "Stop moving!" Chase complained, his blue eyes checking to make sure Lexi hadnt opened anything by accident.

His hands rested on the back of lexis, guiding hers to his cheeks with a soft smile. Her hands were a bit chilly, with his larger warmer palms heating them up. His sweet, sweet Lexi. Chase couldn't help but feel a little annoyed when Annie had decided that now was the absolute best time to check up on Lexi, then ask him to leave. It wasnt fair, he was perfectly fine. So was Lexi, she just needed to rest a little and take some medicine. "I've had enough rest, I'm sick of lying down... Besides, I promised I'd never leave you," he pointed out, squeezing her palms gently.

Annie gave Lexi her doses through the IV, peeking under bandages here and there, before exiting in a hurry with a glance at chase. He didnt like that glance, the you're-in-trouble glance. Regardless, chase tried not to how his worry of being dragged out of lexis room. Instead, he lay his head beside lexis, hunched over on the edge of his chair with one of lexis hands clasped in his. His eyelids drifted shut a few times in the morning silence, the peaceful calm of the recovery wing helping chase to relax.

They had fixed their problems, they had forgiven each other, and come to an agreement. He wouldn't lose her, and they could live that happily ever after he had dreamt about. Last night's despair and hopelessness disappeared in a distant dream, from here on out, things looked up. Chase absently counted the ticks on the clock, stroking her red tangled locks on the mattress in a lull.

((We can ff to whenever))

By that time, he's all healed and back to full strength, and she's made a quick recovery due to her essence growing stronger, and her powers of self healing automatically healed her! So a little more angel, she sill doesn't quite have all her powers yet, I was thinking the whole process should be gradual like five months maybe))

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments ((Ok. Sounds good. :) ))

Lexi was practically bouncing up and down on her bed. Her whole being was bubbling with excitement, a soft glow emanating from her as a result of her emotions. "We get to go home now right?" She asked him, biting her lip to hold back a babbling stream of questions and comments because of how excited she was. Some of this may or may not have come from the icecream she had just had. One thing that was quickly learned over her time at the hospital was that Lexi easily got hyper on sugar. The nurses had started to give her food with a lower sugar content. But today, her last day, they figured she could have icecream.

Lexi had made miraculous recovery in the week she had been here. Her right ankle had graduated from a cast to a brace, which was not convenient, but much more comfortable. The staples had been taken out of her forehead, but there were still a few stitches in. She had been cleared to leave on one condition, that Chase watched how she was doing carefully, and took out her stitches in a couple of days. The doctors would have done it, but Lexi didnt want to stay at the hospital that long.

With help from Chase, Lexi managed to slide off her bed. She took a deep breath, and then lifting her braced leg off the ground, she started hopping just as fast as she could towards the door. Stopping only to open it again, she immediately started hobbing down the hallways to try to get out as quickly as possible. Yes. She could step on her braced leg, but it was sore to use it when running, and hopping turned out to be faster than walking (especially with a little anti gravity powers from her essense) so that was what she did.

"Colorful beds! Colorful rooms! Home made food! Here I come!" She shouted happily, not caring who heard her. She was giddy, hyper, and excited all at once.

E M M A | 1540 comments Chase finished sighing off a few more hospital release papers, the pen cap bitten in his mouth. He was back to himself, if not a little stronger from all the time he had spent with Lexi. The angel had hardly left her side, only to visit his flat once in a while to change. There was color in his cheeks, his blue eyes were lively, and he could do everything he used to physically and more. Walking was no longer a chore, and his visits to the gym had hardened his soft muscles again. His wings, when exposed, were bright white, not a single trace of a dying feather left. "Yeah," chase managed to murmur around the pen cap, shouldering her overnight bag with one arm and balancing the clipboard with the other.

His redhead girlfriend was extremely hyper, which was unusual for him to experience after her lifeless first few days. He blamed the angel essence, and him having snuck in a few heals here and there. At last, Lexi could go home, and he'd have her to himself. No more being walked in on when they were kissing, or when they were immersed in deep conversations about angels. "Baby, wait up!" Chase shouted from the hospital room, having not paid attention to the agent as she hobbled from sight. Stupid papers. Chase followed after Lexi, particularly watchful of her actions knowing that it was possible that she hurt herself again. "Here you are, Annie," chase handed her the clipboard and pen, silently apologizing for his teeth marks on the cap.

Chase grinned, sweeping a hand through his blonde hair. It made his heart soar to see Lexi so happy again, finding that she could at last leave the hospital. "Hey, wait up!" Chase protested with a soft laugh, catching up soon enough to the cripple. He slid his free hand in lexis, kissing her cheek lovingly. The angel was completely devoted to the redhead, his loyalty stronger than any other. He'd lost her once, it wouldn't happen again.

They walked outside into the parkinglot, the chilly September weather blowing breezes around them. Since his flat was only three blocks away, he figured they'd walk. There was no parking found anywhere along the streets during the day, since people all had the same idea to drive in cold weather. He pulled his jacket closer to his chest, decked in simple jeans, a pair of converse, and a thick shirt. Chase replaced his arm around lexis shoulders to keep her warm, grinning ear to ear at her inhaling fresh air for the week. "Hungry?" Chase offered, his favorite sandwich deli coming up on the sidewalk shops. "It's nice to see you so energized," he sighed, hardly able to contain her bouncing.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Lexi could hardly wait and she was running back and forth as he slowly walied towards her. "Hurry up! Hurry up!" She exclaimed, her face lit with joy. As she pushed out the door, an icey blast hit her straight on, causing her to topple to the side. She stumbled a bit, but quickly righted herself once more, big smiles all around and continued on.

Her shivering was stopped when he slung and arm around her shoulder. She smiled brightly up at him. "Well there you are my lazy guardian." She teased, wiggling her eyebrows at him. Her eyes scanned the streets and they lit on all the restaurants. "Of course I would like food!" She laughed. "Real food! No more hospital food!" Sh giggled in giddy excitement, bouncing and shivering at the same time. She laughed and smacked him playfully. "You say im excited like that's a bad thing!" She laughed happily. "Of course im excited! We're both alive and there havent been any issues!"

She skipped along the street with him towards the small restaurant, grinning happily. She failed to recognize that she was no longer touching the ground. She was floating along two feet off the ground. She also failed to recognize the astonished look people were giving her as they passed by. She was too happy to notice anything, to be honest.

E M M A | 1540 comments Chase laughed light heartedly, pleased at lexis good mood. It made him feel so warm inside to see her this way, to see her so elated to be out of the hospital. Chases arm tightened around her waist, a white grin spread on his lips. "I know a place," he grinned, pulling her off towards the sub shop that held so much sentimental value to him. It was him and Anandas first date, it was his favorite place to have eaten out. It was a little laid back for a date with Lexi, but he figured baby steps with lexis diet. Baby steps. "Ow!" He protested, squeezing her waist with protest. "Of course te a good thing, love, it's nice to see color in your cheeks again," he agreed. "Knock on wood," chase winced, hoping to god that they indeed did stay problem free.

Chase was practically running after Lexi, his hand clasped with hers tightly as she skipped with her red hair flouncing away from him. "Lexi, slow down!" He whined, digging his feet into the ground as she pressed onward. He noticed by the way people were looking at him that Lexi was in fct... Floating. "Lexi, Lexi," chase whispered frantically, placing his hands on er waist and tugging her back to the earth. "Lexi, listen to me!" Chase hissed, trying to snap her out of her day dreamy mood. Chase held her by both shoulders, again pushing her down to the sidewalk ground.

"I need you to focus, okay? I know you're excited to be free and all, but this has got to stop...! I don't want anyone noticing that you're not normal, and attract alot of attention! If you get taken from me... I don't know what id do," chase gnawe on his bottom lip, ignoring stares at lexis long red hair that seemed to float around her face in the wind. "You can't get hurt, you've gotta control your essence... Okay?" Chase sighed, giving her arms a squeeze. "Come on, the place is right around he corner," he gave her a small smile, hoping he hadnt upset his redhead girlfriend. Chase's lips planted a lasting kiss on her soft mouth, before he began at a leisurely stroll down the street wih his arm around lexis waist.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Lexi was lost on cloud nine when she heard Chase's frantic voice, and then he was tugging on her waist to pull her down... Down!? Lexi's eyes widened and she stared at the ground. What was she doing? What was going on? Was she creating problems again? Lexi paled and her heart sank into her gut. As her heart sank, so did she and she floated slowly back to the ground as Chase placed his hands on her shoulders. She nodded numbly as he explained. She understood. Or...she thought she did.

This meant she couldnt be happy. She couldnt be happy in public. She had to control her emotions and keep herself glum for the day so no one would notice her or Chase. She nodded slowly when he assured her and suddenly, his warm lips were on hers. Her heart melted and the tension released as she let herself enioy it. He pulled away again, and she leaned her head on his shoulder as they walked, both for warmth against the cold winds, and for comfort against her own criticism.

She wasnt hurt by what he said, nor was she hurt by what had happened. She was just no longer happy. And she would remain that way until it was safe to be happy again. Until it was safe for her and Chase, she had to control her essense. And that meant controlling emotions.

She walked into the old sub shop with him and smiled a little. The place was very cute. It had faded red seats, metal tables, old walpaper covered walls, and the counter where subs were made and ordered. Scanning over the menu, Lexi tried to decide on something she would like to eat.

E M M A | 1540 comments ((Didn't see this!! Sorry, MSG me next time xD))

Chase was careful to be sensitive to Lexi, her emotions seeming to have disappeared into thin air never to be seen again. It was disappointing to see her no longer happy, but t was for the best. They couldn't add the stress of her exposing herself, then him, and get them killed. Or worse, captured. The experiments they'd do, the tests... They'd have a field day. Chase wouldn't ever forgive hinself in all eternity for subjecting Lexi to that doom, all because he couldn't keep his hands off her, got her killed, and fell in love. He would much rather himself be kidnapped and tortured, Lexi killed. She could inherit another body, another soul, and bring herself back to earth.

"It's not much, but I love it," chase murmured with a soft smile, clasping lexis hand in his larger one as he guided her to the counter. Her bag was still on his shoulder. The man at the counter, who owned the Italian deli and sub sandwich shop, greeted him in Italian with a bubbly grin. He raised an eyebrow at chases new companion, having gotten used to Amanda then helped chase through the break up. "Oh!" Chases eyes widened, as he quickly turned to his girlfriend. "This is Lexi, Lexi, this is Antonio," chase gestured, the meaty man reaching over the shake her hand all friendly.

He felt at home at the sun sandwich shop, with the familiar atmosphere and the smells appealing to him. It made up for the fact that he had lived alone, the place always comforted him when he was upset. "Nice to meet you! What can I get for the lady?" The middle aged Italian offered, tugging on a pair of gloves. Chase envied Antonio, how he looked so happy with this little hole in the wall shop of his that could barely get by. The business was doing better after chase had encouraged his coworkers to eat here for lunch instead of the subway around the corner, and Antonio was plenty grateful. Yet, chase earned almost ten times the amount Antonio did a year and he couldn't be satisfied. Now with Lexi in his life, things were looking up. Chase prompted Lexi to order, before asking for his usual.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Lexi walked inside slowly and was pleasantly surprised by the warm comforting atmosphere she found here. She immediately smiled, encouraged by the homey feeling. She grinned happily at the friendly itailian who offered to shake hands. She immediately clasped his hand and shook it. "Nice to meet you. Im Lexi." She said promptly, her eyes wandering over his warm brown eyes. He was such a cute man. The type she wished she had for a father.

Then she bit her lip, scanning over the menue behind the counter. So many choices! And each one made her mouth water. Finally her eyes lit on one option and she nodded decisively. "Five inch whole grain please. With sausauge and salami, tomatoe, lettuce, cheddar cheese, and mayo." She finished, nodding at the end in decision. Then she smiled over at Chase. "So can we go to a table?" She asked, leading him to a table against the wall.

She pulled back the chair and plopped down on it, folding her hands on the table. Her blue eyes lifted to meet his and she smiled shyly. "So. Boyfriend. How are you doing?"

E M M A | 1540 comments Antonio waved them off after chase payed, letting them know he'd get to their sandwiches after he answered the phone. Chase understood, and was completely fine with it and flashed a smile to the chef. He fumbled with his wallet at the counter, before shoving it back into his jeans. The deli was nearly empty, a man in a suit and on his laptop munching a sandwich while he typed with the other. Chase followed Lexi with a grin, letting her drag him along. "You didnt even let me answer-!" He laughed softly, squeezing her hand as he was guided to a table by the wall. It was different not sitting in his usual seat by the corner, but it would do.

Chase sat across from Lexi at the small square table, his legs on either side of lexi with his knees leaning against hers. He scoot in to the table, leaning back in the chair with relaxation. At last, a break from it all. "Yes, girlfriend? I'm peachy keen," chase laughed lightly, a bit of color in his cheeks. Outside in the September cold, people walked past in their light winter jackets. It would be a cold one this year, and chase knew he'd be busy with little kids and frostbite and pneumonia. I happened evey time.

"How you feeling?" Chase asked with real concern in his bright blue eyes, his blonde hair tousled on his head. He took her hands in his larger warm ones, their essences mingling within their fingertips with the excess that Lexi had acquired, a process for her becoming complete angel. She had processed way faster than he expected, now only months away from her full fledged angel. Not a year. "The apartment was so quiet without you, you know..." Chase sighed. His blue eyes shifted over her features, admiring the way her healthy red hair bounced on her shoulders, how her light splay of freckles was displayed over her tiny nose, how her blue eyes twinkled in the lights.

Lexi and Chase made small talk for the rest of the evening, munching on their sandwiches. Lexi smiled sadly at his comment about the house being quiet without her. "Yeah. I miss the apartment. The hospital was not as quiet unfortunately. Its hard to sleep sometimes." She admitted, finishing off her sandwich.

After talking about life and love and everything that had happened, they paid the bill and stood to leave. Lexi tucked in her chair and smiled at Chase before walking slowly outside. They emerged on the street, and smiling up at him, Lexi leaned in to give him a quick, passionate kiss. It was starved to an extent. She had not been able to be as close as she would have liked with chase because of her room arrangements. In that moment, her heart beat harder and her essense grew stronger. She started to glow faintly. Her arms wrapped around Chase and she held onto him for as long as she could.

When she finally forced herself to pull away, it was like an electric shock jolted up and down her spine and she gasped. Suddenly the glow that was emmanating from her wasnt so comfortable any more. It burned. She winced and bit her lip. "I cant turn it off... the glow." She stammered, wheezing, her hands on her knees, back hunched.

Her body was starting to react to the large ampunts of angel in her. What was happening was normal, but Lexi didnt know that, and it scared her. The pain meant she was transitioning into the next stage of changing.

Chase walked out of the little Italian deli, hand in hand with his goregous redhead angel of a girlfriend. He hadnt been expecting her to kiss him, their lips locking as they shared a few moments together. Chase kept his muscular arms around lexis petite torso, squeezing her close to him. His blue eyes were kept closed, his senses enjoying the sweet taste, how beautiful she smelled, how soft her lips were. Chase could feel their essences mingling, strengthening the both of them by the second. He couldn't stop, he didnt want to pull away from Lexi. They hadnt had their time alone in days, and now that he finally did, he couldn't let go.

Lexi released him, much to chases disappointment. He let out a soft sigh, his arms remained looped aroun her waist with his head tilted to catch glimpses of her pretty face, long red tendrils hanging over her eyes. "I love you so much," he grinned, his blue eyes gazing down into lexis. The pedestrians were few at the hour, the dark masking them standing together beside a dark alley between the deli and the next store over. "Baby... You're glowing," chase whispered hoarsely, feeling a little sick. Nothing good seemed to happen with every advancement of lexis growing process. He had thought this would only be a little burst, but no.

The light got stronger, his breath catching as soon as it became unbearably bright to look at Lexi. Her essence illuminated the walls of the alley, catching a few double takes. Chases fingers wrapped around lexis wrist, immediately the two becoming invisible to the human eye. Suddenly, happy Lexi looked very weak, her form hunched over with her hair hanging over her feet. "Lex, are you okay? It'll be over soon, I promise..." He murmured hurriedly, a bit uncertain himself. The only way shed glow that bright was if he was moving up a stage. Soon the glowing dimmed slightly, only to come back even stronger. This was the last and final stage. Her wings, and her powers. The most difficult stage yet.

Chase yipped as her body heat up intensely with her glow, before the sensation began to pass, her glow fading away ever so slowly. Chase kept his eyes down and his head turned away so as not to be blinded, extremely nervous for what was happening. Lexi was going to be an angel. And she was seven months early. She was more powerful than any trans-angel ha ever been, a human at that. "A-are you okay?" Chase asked a last, five minutes after the glow began disappearing. Now she was just a little light colored, her feet an inch or two off the ground. "Man, Lexi..." Chase murmured, swallowing as he took her hands. "Your wings, and your powers... They're coming," he whispered against her forehead. It would be the most difficult week. When wings came in, they started to grow between shoulder blades. Blood was involved, as the bones inside would grow from your skeleton. They grew as nubs, eventually developing longer and bigger. He would have to keep Lexi indoors, as the wings wouldn't be able to be concealed until she was complete.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Lexi whimpered, the glow really bruning now. It didnt burn her eyes, even though it bleached out the whole alley. However, it did burn her eyes. It burnt to the point that she thought she was being roasted alive. She was frozen in shock, not sure what to do. "Chase..." she cried. Just when she wasnt sure she could take it anymore, the glow died down and she found herself floating slightly, leaning against Chase. She gripped his hands and panted. "What was that?" She managed to stammer.

When he explained, she paled a bit. "What?" She asked. Didnt she have more time? Why was it happening now!? Was that a bad thing? "Why is it so painful? How long will this take? What happens now? How do the wings come? Will they appear or..." she grimaced. "...grow?" Bones shifting an growing sounded disgusting to her. Chase was a doctor. He was used to that stuff. She was too. But being an agent didnt equip her for something like watching bones grow.

She leaned her head on his shoulder. "This is ok right? Its normal?" Her heart was pounding a mile a minute she was so stressed. She just wanted to be assured that everything was alright. She wanted to know that she would be ok.

E M M A | 1540 comments Chase could hear the panic in Lexis voice, and he could hear her heart thumping in her chest against his. He was sure to keep a good grip around her body, careful to support her if she fainted at all again, or decided to fly. Chase had mixed feelins about the entire ordeal of her becoming an angel. It was lovely, his own girlfriend deciding that she wanted to be an angel, love wih him for eternity. But what hurt him was seeing her in so much pain. Just looking back on the past month or so, Lexi had been killed one too many times, her sanity had been questioned, and she was physically going through too many painful transformations to count.

Chase rubbed lexis sides lovingly, leaning against the dirty alley wall with Lexi buried in his chest for comfort. How could he help her understand exactly what was going on? The whole process wasnt too simple, but chase did his best in elaborating. "Your essence, it's especially strong right now, because all of that is what's making your abilities to heal, they're forming your wings, keeping you immortal... I'm so sorry it hurts, love, it'll all be over soon," he promised, his lips moving against her head. "It's like growing pains, for angels," he snorted, his palm rubbing against her back. There. He could feel it now, two very small bumps in her shoulder blades.

Lexi was developing much too fast, and it worried him. Why was she so much faster than any other angel that had ever formed? Was it because of him, the amount of his own powerful pure angel essence that he gave her? Their love together? Or was Lexi just specail? "They're gonna grow.... Lexi, listen," he said seriously, cupping her face in his palms, his blue eyes locking WTH hers. "It's going to hurt. Alot. I'm not going to lie to you about that. But I'll be here for you, the whole time, I'll be with you," he assured her, his tone gentle like he did with the kids in the hospital who thought they were going to die.

"Your bones, they're strengthening themselves, and growing. Soon, your wings will be little nubby tips, sticking out from... Here," he explained, feeling her back for the spot. They were already quite far in their development, and he could have sworn they weren't there that morning. "They'll keep growing, eventually little feather fuzz will appear on the skin of your wings, and finally, you'll have those wings you wanted," he gave her a weak smile, smooching her cheek as a tingle ran from his lips. "You powers will be developing as well at the same time, and within a week or two, at this rate... You'll be a full angel," chase murmured reverently, his words hanging in the air.

"It's normal, even though you're a little quicker," he admitted truthfully, laughing to ease te mood. He draped an arm around her shoulders, easing them out of the alley toget home as soon as they could. "It's nothing to worry about, it'll be over before you know it," chase shrugged nonchalantly, kissing her temple. Again, that tingle. He just wanted to kiss Lexi again, to hug her in his lap like that one time again. But with all the new changes, he wasnt so sure how Lexi would be reacting to any physical contact.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Lexi nodded slowly, tryi g to regain her breath. It wpuld all be over soon. Soon. But how soon? She bit her lip when he said her wings would grow, and visibly winced when he said it would hurt. Great. Pain. And bones. And likely blood and torn skin. It made Lexi shudder. And on top of that, her wings would be ugly bare limbs until they gained feathers. And after that... flying. That thought brightened her mood a little. Flying. Now that was something to look forwards to.

"Yeah. I can handle pain." She mumbled, nodding slowly. However, she did pale further when he mentioned it taking a few weeks. A few weeks of pain before she had the powers and wings? Now that was scary. She leaned into him, her small frame trembling against his larger one. He would be there. He would be there throug it all. She could do this, with his help. She knew she could.

When he touched two spots on her back, Lexi whimpered, grimacing. "That hurts!" She complained. The small bumps on her back were incredibly tender, and touching them had felt like digging your thumb into a bullet wound. However, he kissed her on her cheek, and that sent an electric buzz through her, making her feel nice and strengthening her essense as well as causing the bumps on her back to grow just a little bigger.

As they started to walk down the street, Chase kissed her again, and again her wings grew more, her essense strengthening. "Thanks for staying with me." She said, managing a smile. She turned a little and winced as he back bent the slightest. "Did you have to go through this? Or did you always have your wings and powers?" She asked, curious and trying to make conversation. She was using him mostly for support as they walked. She could barely stand on her own.

message 232: by E M M A (new)

E M M A | 1540 comments "S-sorry! Sorry-!" Chase panicked, immediately lifting his hand from her back. Of course the limbs would be sensitive, what was e thinking? "You'll probably be on your stomach when you sleep, and you're gonna want to keep your posture nice and straight," he encouraged Lexi, a handle gently against the small of her back as he guided her through the city streets, the apartment a block away. It's what he loved about New York, every thing was so close together. It was different how protective and gentle chase had become with Lexi, espeacially knowing now that Lexi would e extremely fragile the next few weeks, what with new powers and wings and all.

The change would be extraordinary, and chase was honored to be the one who helped Lexi through it all. Her be the one to teach her how to fly, how to use her powers. "Of course Id stay with you," chase murmured sweetly, shouldering his way through a busier section of the sidewalks with Lexi in tow. Since Lexi was leaning on him almost completely for support, chase learned to adjust his arm around her waist in such a fashion that she could hold into his arm for that extra help. Chase tilted his head at lexis questioning, adjusting lexis bag over his shoulder and constantly apologizing to those he rammed in to.

"I've always had it, I was an angel spirit before I actually had this body," chase shrugged nonchalantly, his voice lowered with his mouth close to her head. He didnt want anyone to pick up any suspicion at all. "But I know about the process, at least I've seen it happen a few times... Let me say Lexi, you're one of the strongest transformations I've seen yet," he murmured, proud with a smile on his lips. "Come on, the lights a go," chase hurried forward, attempting to catch the crosswalk by jogging in the slightest, their hands firmly connected as he led the way.

Once they cross the street safely with chases paranoia of big trucks, the apartment building sat on the street corner with its lights brightening the building. "Home sweet home," chase breathed, thrilled to have Lexi bck home again. They entered the lobby, took the elevator upstairs, and reached the front door without incident. "I've arranged your room, fixed it up a bit," chase murmured sheepishly, unlocking the door with the hand that was holding lexis, his keys jingling in the lock. He wouldn't confess to having the bare room painted with a fresh coat, a new soft mattress put in, a new dresser, and some comfortable bedding. He figured the extra pillows would be nice, especially since Lexi would be in pain the next couple of days. He had taken the liberty of also going shopping, and cleaning up the entire apartment.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Lexi nodded slowly. So many things to remember. She had to stand up straight, hold her shoulders back and still, sleep on her stomach, and be careful how she moved and bent. She grimaced. "Its going to be a long week." She mumbled, sighing softly. It was worth it in the end, I her mind. She could stay with Chase forever. That was definitely worth it.

She used Chase as support the whole walk back. So he hadnt experienced it himself, but at least he knew what to expect. That made her feel slightly better. "Be grateful you never had to feel this." She joked, shaking her head. It felt like a really bad headache. A throbbing pain that was dull, but never left.

They reached the apartment and he talked about the room being fixed up. Lexi raised an eyebrow. "You did what?" She asked softly. Had he really taken time to get the room ready for her? That was the sweetest thing she had ever heard. She blushed softly. "You didnt have to do that." She said, shaking her head as they stepped inside.

The relaxation she felt when she walked in the door was incredible. She let out a sigh and the tension in her shoulders relaxed, causing her to wince a bit, but she couldnt have been more happy to be back. "Home..." she breathed, actually tearing up she was so happy.

E M M A | 1540 comments Chase squeezed Lexis hand comfortingly, kissing her cheek with pity. He didn't know if growing wings or giving birth was more painful, but he knew for sure that lexi would not be happy for the next few weeks. Chase vowed to be extra sweet to Lexi, give her everything and anything she needed. He wished he didn't have to see her in so much pain again, but knew there were no choices left. "It is ... but I'm here the rest of the way, I promise lex," chase murmured, leading her into the apartment.

The place smelled still faintly of cleaner and febreeze, with a trace of paint. Chase squeezed his arm around Lexis waist, adjusting her arm around his neck for more support. Lexi was still extremely weak, but yet her skinny body radiated with her essence. Two bumps protruded from her shoulder blades already, growing by the second. "Yeah?" Chase chuckled, his bright blue eyes staring into Lexis matching ones. "I just... I just wish I could take this pain from you," Chase sighed into her hair, squeezing her body close to him. He guided her into the dark apartment, flicking on the lights.

Chases cheeks flushed rouge, feeling his heart flutter in his chest at Lexis surprise. He'd forgotten how good it felt to treat his girlfriend the way he did, to pamper her as much as he could especially in this time of need. "Yeah, its really no problem ... I thought you'd deserve it, with all you're going through," chase sighed, a small smile on his lips. He leaned lexi against the kitchen counter for balance, leaning in to kiss her tenderly, his palm caressing her cheek.

"You need anything? Ice or something? Wanna lay down? I could make you some coffee?" Chase peppered lexi with questions, deep concern clouding in his blue eyes. "I mean ..." he trailed off, laughing nervously under his breath. He didn't understand why he was so uptight, so anxious about Lexis health. She looked absolutely fine, yet he couldn't look away for even a few seconds to make sure she didn't fall, start floating in the air.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Lexi smiled and nodded, "well I guess thats a good enough reason to do the room." She teased. One of her hands was wrapped tightly in his, their fingers knotted together. She felt a sense of security by holding onto him like that. She felt that though she didnt know what was going on, he did, and that made her feel safe and secure. She knew he would not leave her, and she was relying on that.

She could tell by the nervouse look in his eyes that this would not be fun for her, but she didnt mind. Not as long as he was there. After the pain she felt from heartbreak, she didnt think anything could compair. When he kissed her, she felt like she gained a little strength. She loosened and melted in his arms. This was where she felt safe, this was where she felt she belonged. However, Chase's essense was strengthening hers through the kiss and it caused her wings to grow faster.

They were no longer just small bumps. Now they were actually raised and sticking out and entering a new phase of growing. Lexi tensed and whimpered softly, hunching over to try and relieve the pain. It felt like her back was ripping open, for the wings were starting to poke through.

Chase started rapid firing questions at her and Lexi shook her head, gasping. "No. No. Stop stressing. If you say this is normal, then I am just fine." She insisted, trying to straighten. She immediately cried out and bent again. "But I might take an advil." She whispered, biting her lip to keep away the tears of pain.

E M M A | 1540 comments Chase drapes his arms around Lexis stomach, pulling his lips away from Lexis when she inhaled sharply. Her body hunched up, a certain tenderness directed to her back. Lexi was breathing irregularly and chase knew that it had definitely been the wings. Looking at them now, the nubs that had been an hour ago were beginning to protrude from her skin. Riping through skin layers, chase was just holding his breath until the bleeding started up. Chase had a bit of an idea to speed up the entire process, hating to see Lexi in excrutisting pain. If kissing lexi, being close sped up the process, he'd do it. Gladly.

"You okay? Here, i think we've got some ... hang tight, love," chase pleaded, rubbing Lexis shoulder's comfortingly once he was sure she was upright and steady. He hurried to the kitchen, scavenging through a bunch of plastic bags he hadn't unloaded yet. He had gotten things for lexi good for a few weeks while her wings developed, even some chocolate, magazines, and heating packs for her recovery. "I swear a bought it ...!" Chase sword softly under his breath, when his fingers stumbled upon the bottle of pills. Relieved, chase held the container of Advil and tylenol in his hands, chase got lexi a glass of water. He set this and the advil in front of her at the counter, smiling weakly with encouragement.

"Lets have you sit down, please?" Chase finally begged again, guiding her against her will towards her room hoping it didn't smell like paint anymore. Lexi needed rest, maybe some TV could distract her from it all. Another thing had begun to creep into his mind. Who else would find out? He knew lexi didn't have anyone to rely on. Maybe her father, but he didn't want to press the sensitive subject with lexi. He wanted ti tell his own birth parents at least, but it was too difficult on his own to tell then what they needed to know. Then there was work. As much as chase wanted to stay with lexi at home and as much as he had sworn that he'd be by her side the entire process, he had to go back to the hospital. Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Lexi nodded slowly, gripping the counter top as she tried to slow her breathing. The pain made her want to throw up, and with her pounding heart sending blood to her brain she felt rather light headed. She was breathing through pursed lips when Chase came over with the painkillers and water. She popped two Advil in her mouth and chugged a gulp of water. Halfway through swallowing, searing fire ripped up and down her back and she let out a gurgling cry. Coughing for a moment, she sank weakly against the counter, biting her lip. Blood was leaking down her back now, as two prominent bones protruded from her shoulders. They had broken the skin and Lexi felt like someone had stabbed her in the back, twice.

Chase asked if she wanted to sit down and she shook her head vigorously, not wanting to seem weak or reliant on him. She struggled as best as she could as he dragged her into her room. "No! Im fine! Honest! Im ok!" She insisted as he plopped her down on the bed. She settled a little when he flipped on the tv, and she leaned against him, relaxing. She was still unaware of the blood dripping down her back. However, her face stayed permanently scrunched in pain as her wing bones continued to grow.

"I am ok. Ok?" She told him seriously. "So stop worrying. I jhst dont want you to get in trouble. Honestly, this is what I want. I want to be an angel with you."

E M M A | 1540 comments Chase froze as lexi began to scream, her face contorted with pain as sweat beaded on her forehead. "Oh lexi..." chase cooed, squeezing Lexis hands as she tensed her body. He felt like he could throw up, his stomach churning with her mangled moans as lexi fought the pain. "Shhh... you can make it through this... just breathe," chase begged, brushing the red locks from Lexis face after releasing one hand.

Sitting on the bed, chase took s peek at Lexis back once the pain seemed to stop. Bad idea. Her shirt was dripping with rich red stains, her shirt lifted where the bones were protruding. "Uhhh-" chase whispered shakily, paralyzed. He wasn't sure what to do. Her bones? Sticking out of her back, and blood was dripping. Fast. "Be right back," chase blurted, darting from the room to retrieve a towel. Chase was in fact quite freaked out, but he couldn't let lexi see. A little blood never meant much to chase, but seeing it come from Lexis back was just... unnatural. Chase fumbled with the washcloth in his hand, rejoining lexi perched on the edge of her bed with the cloth. "I just gotta... clean your back, " chase managed awkwardly. He panicked as the blood trailed down her back through her shirt, almost dripping onto the new comforter set. Chase caught the blood on the edge of Lexis jeans just in time, dabbing in an upward motion to clean her backside.

"From now on, I think you'll be comfy in old clothes, particularly something with a low back... like tanktops, " chase babbled, holding his breath. He had rolled Lexis blood stained tshirt up past her bra, above where the bones protruded and continued to grow. Chase pressed the cloth gingerly against Lexis skin between the shoulderblades, tensed for any pain that lexi could react to. His instincts told him to wrap the bones, the sight of blood triggering an automatic defense inside of him. Chase felt his fingers tingle for a moment, before his essence naturally coursed itself through to Lexis skin. Again, the bone grew. "Sorry! Its ...automatic," chase cringed. The new flatscreen television on some reality show echoed in the background. One of his legs were bent, tucked close to Lexis side, and his other leg dangling off the side of the covers. He was fairly comfortable with lexi by then, except for the fact that his girlfriends bones were sticking our of her skin and bleeding everywhere.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Lexi bit her lip when Chase ran from the room. Where was he going? She was starting to get worried when he ran back in with a towel. What was the towel for? She felt him start rubbing ehr back and her heart sped up. "Whats wrong? Why do you need to clean it? Is something wrong?" She asked, panicking. "Why do I need old clothes!? Am I bleeding?" She asked, voice high. She was worried that it wasnt working. She got the low back thing, but why an old tee? What was with that? She was over emotional at the moment because of the strength of the essense in her.

Chase dabbed something between her shoulderblades and fire shot into them. She whimpered and tensed, screwing up her face in pain. Taking a few deep breaths, she tried to concentrate and pull her mind away from the fire in her shoulders. She was just relaxing when she felt Chase touch her back and thd bones grew faster, intensifying the pain. The first wing joint showed up, and then the second, and the bones continued to grow. "Gosh Chase!" She cried through gritted teeth, her hand bunching around the covers. "Control those blasted powers of yours!" She said, shaking her head.

The pain started to ease then, and her shoulders slumped a little. "What does my back look like?" She asked. "Be honest." She had the skeleton for two baby wings now, and since the bones had finished growing, she would be like that for anywhere between a few days to a few hours before the skin and feathers began to grow over. Her wings were small now, but as she lived through the years, her wings would slowly mature and grow to be large enough to frame her whole body.

Blood began to gush out of the protrusions, causing chase to become a little more concerned. The bleeding would most likely continue a few days as the bones strengthened and thickened, grew even further. Shed need a hella lot of calcium, for sure. "Don't panic! You're fine, I promise... its just a little blood, tiny amounts," he lied, staring down at the bloodied washcloth. Not good. "You're perfectly fine, nothing to worry about. I figured... old clothes would be comfier, and if there's s little blood, you wont have to worry about stains...?" Chase managed half convincingly.

Chase wrapped one arm around Lexis front to steady her jerking, pressing his hand with the washcloth against her back to soak up what bled. He could feel the bones growing and stretching with the skin, sending chills down his spine. "I'm sorry! I'm sorry, lexi I didn't mean to...!" Chase howled, feeling immensely guilty. Her fingers curled around the blankets, her back hunched as the wings bones extended. They were already his hand span of a length, alarming chase. It was growing at a rate he couldn't even comrpehend.

He dropped his hand and loosened against lexi, convinced that the growing had paused for the moment. "Its... two white bones, but they're soft still, cartilage," chase observed honestly, daring to touch one of the wings. "You're doing real good, love," chase smiled softly, his eyes flitting back to the TV screen for a moment before meeting her blue eyes. "Again
.. you're developing faster than normal, that's good," chase grinned, squeezing her hand.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Lexi nodded, managing a small smile. "I know you didnt mean to. I understand." She agreed, leaning against him and panting softly. Something was stirring in her, something faint, hardly noticeable. But it was something that made the growing fast and painful. It was something that was changing her essense little by litte. Something that had been given to her by her mother. Something that was forgotten until now.

Lexi closed her eyes slowly, forcing herself to relax. She fell asleep soon enough, and still her wings continued to grow at an alarming rate. After a couple of hours, they were their full size, strong, and covered in soft new skin. The bleeding had stopped, but the skin was starting to look speckled like chicken flesh as small feathers slowly started growing. Lexi was still asleep. Asleep and blissfully unaware of the changes and the strange magic planted in her that was continuing to grow.

E M M A | 1540 comments ((O.o what is it that her mother gave her???? ))

Chase let lexi fall asleep against his shoulder, sighing softly as he rested his chin on her red head of hair. He could hear her snoring softly, her blue eyes shut peacefully. His own eyes watched the TV blankly, his arm curled around Lexis lower back. Finally, he could take a while to relax and think things over. Chase had a girlfriend, one who was turning into an angel by his doing; his girlfriend had died three times; and chase was inches from being suspended from his job because he had been "sick" for so long. His life had taken a turn for the better since Amanda, but where were they going with it?

Chase sighed reluctantly after nearly half an hour of sitting, his arm beginning to tingle with the extensive pressure of Lexis weight. He gently lay lexi on her side on the soft mattress, fluffing a pillow against her lower back and under her head for support. Her cartilage bones had extended now halfway past her back, smaller bones stemming off the main one. Webbed skin began to form with a pink tissue, small bursts of golden essence making Lexis wings glow. Chase rubbed his face with a deep breath, closing his eyes for a few minutes. She was already so far ahead, he couldn't help but wonder if her powers were already with her. Chase felt the bed shift under his weight as he moved to get off, turning off the television with a click of the remote. He tucked a folded blanket resting on the couch chair beside her bed over Lexis legs and lower back, kissing her cheek tenderly. With one last glance back, chase closed the bedroom door for Lexis rest.

Nearly three hours later at seven PM, chase couldn't help but wake lexi up. He burst open the bedroom door, anxious for what he'd see. He yelped seeing Lexis pink tender wings, spotted with fuzzy gray feathers. She was already stage five, and it had only been a few weeks. The process was supposed tl take a year or more! "Lexi lexi!" Chase shouted, partly panicked and partly excited. lexi was moving along quite well, and as far as he could tell there was no more blood. "Lexi, wake up love," chase encouraged her with a shake of the shoulders. He was a bit anxious, his nerves on an edge.

Lexi slept peacefully in a deep and needed sleep. She didnt even dream she was so tired. She was shaken from her sleepy haze by a frantic Chase. She blinked bleary eyed and yawned, stretching a little, the pain so dimmed that she didnt even notice it. She stared at him for a moment, before her brain finally registered the panic on his features. She snapped to attention, jumping up. "What!? What's wrong!?" She asked, panicked. Her wings hung limply behind her, now covered in grey feathers that were slowly starting to bleach and lengthen. She didnt know how to lift them and tuck them at her back, as she was not yet aware of them.

She grabbed his hand. "Everything is ok, right? Nothing is wrong?" Her heart was pounding a mile a minute. After dying so many times, she was extremely cautious and nervous. Her eyes were wide and filled with panicked worry. Behind her, her feathers finished growing and brushed the floor as they hung. They continued to whiten, until they were more pure than snow. That is, except for the tips of each and every flight feather, which were an iridescent purple black.

E M M A | 1540 comments Chase opened his arms to lexi, sighing in awe at how much her wings were flourishing. As soon as lexi jumped up from the bed, her wings draped beautifully down to the ground. Each feather was blooming into a longer white feather. The color was purer than snow, and it brought a huge smile to chases lips. One he hadn't seen in years. His heart was soaring, lexi was finally his angel. "No no no! Man, you're beautiful ...! Your wings, they're... they're ready," chase said breathily, his arms squeezed around her stomach, his lips pressing against Lexis. He was so excited that after only a day, Lexis wings were full grown. She was an angel. "Congratulations, you're an angel love," chase cooed lovingly, raising Lexis hand to have her twirl. Then he saw the wings again.

He did a double take, the black- no purple, no, black- tipped wings cascading down her back. What was this...? No, no this was wrong. Panic gripped chases heart, and suddenly he couldn't.breathe. Chase stared at Lexis wings, releasing her hand. "Uh... give me a second?" Chase whispered hoarsely, his blue eyes bulging before he disappeared from the room. No! No no no, she couldn't have black tipped wings..! He felt so confused, so freaked out he couldn't think straight. Chase collapsed into the couch, his face buried in his hands. Black wings were for angels that turned. The demons. White wings were for the pure angels, those who did good and had a tender heart.

What had he done wrong? He knew something bad was going to happen, what with the development timing and all. It had to be her dying three times, or or his interference with the processes! Chase was trembling, trying to keep himself sane. What was he going to do? Why were Lexis wings tinged? Was she secretly plotting something evil? Was she cold hearted somehow? How was he going to fix this? Chase was feeling extremely lightheaded, almost passing out on the couch.

Lara (gurlwhowrites) | 8327 comments Lexi's eyes widened in surprise. She had wings!?!? She craned her neck to look back at herself, and grinned. She had wings! She did! She really had wings! Large white wings that looked like Chase's but more soft and downy. As if the moment couldnt get any better, Chase grabbed her and hugged her, spinning her around. Lexi laughed in delight. This could not get any better. She had her boyfriend, and now she would never lose him.

But then that moment shattered. Chase tensed up and asked for a moment, running from the room. Lexi was left just standing there, staring after him in shock. What was wrong now? He had actually looked panicked. He never looked panicked, so something must be seriously wrong with her for him to run from her like that.

Lexi bit her lip, her eyes watering. Was this some cruel joke? The second she became an angel, he ran? Lexi's legs started to wobble and she sank to the floor slowly, a salty tear slipping down her cheek. She slumped into a bedraggled heap on the floor, her newly grown wings in awkward positions over her. She didnt understand what she had done wrong. Why had he run? Why did he run from her? She stayed in a little heap of red hair and feathers, just crying.
