Ingrid looked at him then into the fields as she saw the wild horses, she laughed a little "what?" She asked but did as he said and dismounted. "What are you doing?" she asked, watching the horses, she spotted one which was a complete white, almost like a pearl white. "That pearl white one, its beautiful." She said

As she said the horse, Mareth spurred his mount forward and he was off. His horse was fast and strong so he caught up to the group in no time. He went after the pure white one, but it bolted. He kept after it though and after a few attempts, he had a lasso around its neck. He dismounted next and pulled the bucking horse in. Once it settled down, he mounted it and stayed on as another round of bucking ensued. It was tamed now. Mareth dismounted the horse and mounted back onto his own, leading the steed back to Ingrid. "I think it's time you had your own horse, don't you think?" He asked with a wide smile.
Ingrid watched him with a smile as he took off to catch the horse she liked and pointed out, it looked like it was a lot of effort but he worked his horse hard and fast to catch her a horse. Once he arrived back she smiled happily, she carefully walked towards the pure white horse, holding her hand out to let it sniff her before she would get closer to it
Mareth smiled as she approached her horse. The excitement in her eyes evident. The horse snorted and then nuzzled her hand in greeting. "If I didn't know any batter I'd say you two had ridden together." He commented with a laugh.
Ingrid smiled happily when she stepped closer to the horse, gently patting it when she looked at it. "He's beautiful." She said although it was a girl
Mareth chuckled and corrected her saying, "I believe that she might not like you referring to her as a he." The mare was an impressive horse with a beautiful pure white coloring. Mareth scarcely saw horses of such color.
She looked at mareth for a moment then back at the beautiful girl "oh, I am sorry." She said, gently stroking her face with a smile, she was such a beautiful colouring of almost pure white. "She is stunningly beautiful." She said
"Yes, quite a unique coat I must say. I've never such coloring before. Anyways, come, it is lunch time and my stomach is growling." He said, dismounting and leading his horse to a shaded spot beneath a tree.
She smiled as she watched him then walked towards the shaded tree while holding the road for her new horse "it's so beautiful here," she said
"Yes, I quite agree. Though I've never told anyone about it. I fear if I bring anyone else here, they will set out to settle it, or destroy it for farmland. I could never stand by and witness such beauty destroyed." He explained, gazing out at the meadow that lay before him.
She smiled with a gentle nod as she looked out into the meadow also, stroking her new horse again before she sat down against the tree. "It would be a shame if it were ruined." She said
"Yes it would." He replied absentmindedly. The meadow had become something of a sacred place for him and he was reluctant to share it with anyone. But he felt he could trust Ingrid.
She smiled gently when she looked around, enjoying its beauty "it feels like home." She said softly and a little sad
"Yes... it must." He replied hesitantly, not quite sure what to say. He felt bad of course that he had to take her from her family and home, but it was the only way to save her and give her something of a life.
She smiled sadly as she looked out over the meadows. "I miss it." She said "can I ask, what made your clan attack my village?" She asked
Mareth considered the question. "Well, I suppose it was the harvest reports from your region. We had raided little villages near yours before and had gotten plenty lucky, so our leader decided it would be a good idea to try yours." He responded, studying the ground intently.
She nodded with a gently and soft sigh, looking at him. "We had been planting all year long." She said softly
Mareth couldn't stand to talk about it anymore. He felt like such a terrible person, having taken part in the raid that ruined her life. "I... yeah, I bet." He replied sorrowfully.
"But that does not matter now." She told him with a small smile "I will start a new life."
"I wish you didn't have to though." He said with a sigh. He leaned against her heavily and took a deep breath, looking out at the field.
"I will be with you." She said softly and gently leaned back against him also. "When is your next voyage?" She asked
Mareth tilted his head to look at her and replied "well, I think a week. Depends on how much the village consumes from the haul we just brought back."
"In a week?" She asked surprised and sighed gently
"More or less. It's a busy life. I'll be gone for about a week during that time. Are you ok with being left alone here?" He asked, not sure he himself was comfortable leaving her there.
"I uhh.. maybe." She said but was a little worried about it, she didn't want him to worry though. "You must go?"
Mareth thought about it and replied, "the only way I would be exempt from going was if I got married to you the day they left, but I don't know if it's possible to pull together a wedding in that short of a time.
"What if to help me settle in here?" She asked him, hoping it might be a solution
"Maybe. I am usually expected to go no matter what as I am one of our more...proficient fighters, but maybe if they are just going to a smaller settlement I will be let off." He responded.
"You could ask couldn't you?" She said hopefully, she didn't want to be left alone, not yet.
"Yes my darling, I shall ask." He said, leaning into her and giving her a hug, holding her close and saying, "Thank you Ingrid for staying with me, I have grown quite fond of you and for the first time ever felt a warm feeling in my chest when I looked at someone. That someone being you."
Ingrid smiled gently with a soft small kiss on his cheek and hugged him "thank you for being the one who found me, for helping to keep me safe and alive." She said to him and smiled "I very much appreciate it." She said
Mareth grinned stupidly when she kissed him and said goofily, "you know, your kisses are pretty sweet. They are my favorite thing I've encountered on this big planet."
She blushed and smiled as she looked at him "they must not be." She said
"Oh yes they are. They are soft and sweet, bringing me pure bliss every time your lips touch me, I do not lie." He said, grinning even wider. "Here, kiss me again and I'll see if it still holds true." He added mischievously.
She laughed gently when she looked at him and enjoyed how he tried to get a kiss from her "not so easily:" she said
"Fine, fine." He replied. "But I have yet another surprise for you, close your eyes!" He said, reaching into his bag acting like he was about to pull something out. When she closed her eyes, he leaned in and kissed her on the lips and then laughing in triumph as he pulled away.
She smiled gently as she closed her eyes, waiting for her next surprise, and surprise she was when she felt his lips gently placed on hers. When she opened her eyes and he had pulled away she laughed softly also. "Naughty." She joked
Mareth just grinned and gave a playful wink. Deciding he was a little tired, Mareth lay down resting his head in Ingrid's lap and staring up at the fluffy white clouds in the sky. It was a beautiful dad and Mareth could not have hoped for better conditions to setThe meadow. "After lunch we can go to the falls, you haven't seen those yet I trust?" He asked.
She watched him as he laid down and put his head in her lap, blushing a little though she liked it. She smiled softly and listened to his next comment "no I have not, not just yet." She said
"Sweet, we'll go there next, but first I just wanna relax a little." He said, letting his eyelids close as a cool breeze slid over the two of them. So far the day was perfect and Mareth would not have had it any other way.
She smiled while she watched him then leaned against the tree and closed her eyes, listening to the chirps of birds above them
Mareth opened his eyes a while later. It would seem that he and ingrid had dozed off for about half an hour. He sat up and saw their horses laying down and snoozing peacefully. He gently tapped Ingrid awake, putting his finger over his lips as the silence that had settled over the meadow was quite blissful and he didn't want to interrupt it.
She slowly woke, opening her eyes gently and looked around and at him, she smiled as she heard how silent it was, or rather didn't hear anything. She stretched slowly as she sat up properly and looked at him again. "It's so beautiful." She whispered to him
Mareth just nodded, allowing his ears to take in the pure quiet that had settled on the meadow. This was one of the reasons he loved this place so much. Then all of a sudden a breeze came by, rustling the grass and tree, breaking the silence that had been present just moments ago. "Ah, one of the many great features of this place." Mareth said.
Imogen smiled gently and happily, she then went towards the horses, sitting by her new horse and petting it, letting it get use to her for a while.
((So sorry! I have been swamped with captains practices, work, and watching my siblings!))Mareth walked to his horse and gave it an apple he'd not eaten. "Alrighty, let us get off towards the falls. I believe that you will like them very much.
((It's ok don't worry.))She looked at mareth with a gently smile and nod as she helped and coaxed her horse to stand up. "I am very excited to see these falls." She said
"Ah, you will love them. I swear their water has a healing power." He said excitedly, mounting his hotness and flicking the reigns, heading towards the south end of the rolling meadow.
Ingrid watched him as she began to mount her beauty of a horse and flicked the rope as her make shift reins. Following mareth and his horse, smiling happily, it was the happiest she'd been the whole time with him
