So, my understanding is that each member submits a song/performance to be judged on and voted on by judges and the public. Is this right? Why/how did it start? Also, why is Australia in it? I thought it was just EU or European countries.

Australia joined the contest in 2015 as a special member because they've been broadcasting Eurovision in Australia since 1983 and it's very popular.
Wish we could watch it over here in the states. I really like the idea, and from what I've gathered, it's loads of fun to watch.

It is fun. It was more entertaining years ago, now it's all a political game.
I hate when things get turned from entertaining to political. How did you feel about the winner? I heard a lot of people were unhappy.

It was like last year when Ukraine won because the song was about the war in Crimea.
What was this ye'ar's song about—something political again? Also, are there subtitles or something so that people know what it's about?

I think it was a love song. In the official website you can find the translations. : )
Congrats Trisha! How exciting. I remember when my oldest graduated a couple years ago. It was so exciting but bittersweet because he was becoming an "adult". I'm hoping to get some books finished before the end of the month, but I have some graduations to go to and BDay parties this weekend, so I'll have to try to fit some reading time in.b
How's everyone else doing?
Ahh, that must make it easier for everyone. Going to have to see if the states are showing it anywhere next year. Thanks for the help.:)

Sort of Jackie. I have stomach issues that flare up and other stuff because of an auto immune disorder so I have stuff going on here and there. But I always try to have a positive attitude about it and do as much as I can when things are good. Thank You for checking on me! :)
Ahh I see. Glad things are at least a little better. Again, let us know if there is anything we can do.
Phew!! Just in the nick of time...finished another one. My numbers aren't big -- but hey, there are there!
