"Oh baby, I know it's hard and I know it's dangerous, but we'll get through this. And I have some ideas as far as help goes. I'll tell you once we get the marbles so we can use them to disrupt any magic around us so I can tell you in confidentiality. But I think you'll like it." He said grinning to himself. "It will be good help. We won't be alone, I promise." He said hugging her. "Cmon baby, the sun is almost gone and the museum will be closed once we get those marbles we'll feel safer. And uh, I'm sorry for ruining our first date. I wish it could've gone differently." He said kicking himself inside. He sure knew how to treat a girl. He winced and felt two giant bruises on his left side from the fight, one on his side the other on his ribs. The armor had blocked his skin from being pierced, but it didn't stop the force. Man! That hurt, but he just kept it to himself not wanting to worry Selene anymore.

She got up and nodded. "You're right. We should get going." She smiled and wiped off the tears. "So what exactly is the plan once we reach the museum?" She asked,taking his hand and rubbing it with her thumb. She wanted to succeed in the quest so badly and all hate was doing was making it impossible. "Also don't worry,on the bright side we killed another one of name's men right. So it wasn't that bad." She laughed.
"Yeah, we defeated another at least. And, I have an idea. I saw some scaffolding in the museum to get up to the marbles. I'll chisel out the eyes and then leave two ball bearings instead out of respect for my father." Should take only 15 minutes. We'll be in and then out and I think most of the trouble we'll encounter has already been faced." He said. So they started off back to where they came.
She liked the sound of that."You're pretty smart." She smiled and looked at the view one last time before joining Castiel and heading back to the museum where they now had to do this one thing and they'd be closer to defeating nate.
When they got their the door was locked. But that was little trouble for Castiel as he picked it in about 10 seconds. Mechanisms like locks were easy for him and his siblings at camp. They made their way into the empty halls. He grabbed the scaffolding over and got to work. He pulled out his chisel and worked carefully. He got the first one out and dropped it to Selene, motioning for her to put it into her mouth, that would activate the true sight for her. He set to work on the second working as quickly as he could.
Selene took the pebble and placed it in her mouth. She didnt know how it would work exactly so she waited four Castiel to get the other one and clone down, then she would understand a bit more about it. Soon Castiel was done and she looked at him as he put his pebble in his mouth.
Once he finished, he replaced the eyes with his steel ball bearings and combed down. He slipped the marble into his mouth and all of a sudden, he felt as if something lifted off of him. "I believe the tracking spell has just been broken. Could you feel it?" He asked. He had a new sense it felt like. Almost as if his eyes were sharper than before. "I guess we did it, let's get out of here, it's starting to look spooky." He said, and they left.
She didn't notice the new feeling of change, she felt as if a tie had been cut. She agreed with him and they both hurried out of the museum as the sun had gone down and they were welcomed by a sky full of stars.
"Man that's pretty he said as he got to the truck." Ya know, we can drive down the road a bit and camp under the stars if you'd like." He said to her. I have all of our stuff, and it would be a cool change of scenery.
"Oh my god yes please!!!"She exclaimed and jumped about at the idea. She smiled as she got into the truck."Cas you always come up with such amazing ideas!"
"Thanks love." With that' they jumped into the truck and drove 30 min more where he found a great overlook over a canyon where it looked as if you could step off the edge and into the stars. It was incredible. "I'll set up camp." Castiel said getting the bedrolls out and lighting a fire. When it was all ready, they sat, a pot on the fire, looking at the stores. Castiel was fiddling with some washers, gears and other pieces of scrap metal. "This scenery is almost as beautiful as you." He commented, directing the sentence at Selene.
"Its more beautiful that i ever could be love." She smiled. "I don't compare to the beauty of nature. It's just so magnificent and stunning. It takes your breath away. "She commented as they sat and admired the stars in the beautiful night sky.
"That's funny, because you just explained what happens to me when I see you." He said with a smile. She leaned against him and he wrapped his arms around her. "I like these moments. When it's just you and I, calm and peaceful, not so hectic, ya know?" He sighed contentedly.
"I love these moments."She responded and lay there,her head on his lap as they talked about everything. She felt safe and warm and happy in his lap abs she wouldn't have the Night any other way.
They drifted off to sleep next to the fire, wrapped in each other's arms. Castiel awoke first and got up and looked around. Everything seemed safe so he started preparing breakfast. When Selene woke, he had a fresh steaming bowl of oatmeal ready for her. "Morning sunshine." He said as she sat up, still groggy from the night before. "Foods ready, and then we'll pack up and head out one your ready ok love?" He said.
"Ok."She replied with a smile. She started eating her breakfast thanking Castiel for behind absolutely amazing in every single way. "I think you're gonna spoil me with all your love. "
"Well, I think you ought to be be spoiled." He replied giving her a smile. They ate breakfast and then packed up camp. Now that they were sure to magic had affected them, with the marbles in their picket, castiel said, "are you ready to hear my plan about facing nate in LA?" He asked. "I think you will find it odd and somewhat terrifying." He explained.
"Odd and terrifying... sure let's do this." She laughed. "We've faced quite alot of weird and dangerous things already, what's one more?" She then sat as he proceeded to explain his plan.
"Ok, just listen till I finish. A while ago, my dad got in a craze of building the perfect statue. He's such a perfectionist and whenever he wasn't satisfied with his creation. He threw it away. So to earth it came. It is rumored that all of these statues landed somewhere in Nevada. Why do we need a bunch of statues? Like I said, most statues are automations. If I can find that grave yard and reboot the first statue thrown away, he can develop a hive mind throughout the rest of the statues and then boom. Statue army." He said, waiting for a reaction.
"That...is absolutely...GENIUS!"she cried and threw her arms around him. "Let's get to it then,we shouldn't waste anymore time."She replied and a new excitement was blazing in her eyes. "I'm starting to see hope for us and victory against Nate now."
Castiel laughed at her excitement, "Alright! Sweet, let's get going then!" He said to Selene. He went to go load the truck, when she wasn't looking, he pulled his shirt up to check on his side, it had been bothering him lately. What he saw wasn't pretty. There was a scarlet bruise on his shoulder from the arrow and a violet one from the knife. He grimaced, and took some ambrosia. This helped ease the pain a little and so he carried on loading the rest of the truck.
She had turned to see that something was bothering him."everything ok baby?" She asked, pretty sure something was not ok. "If anything is bothering you,you could always tell me." She said softly.
He didn't want to dampen her mood, but he figured if they were in battle, she had the right to know about his ability to fight. He rolled up his shirt to show her the bruises and explained, "it's from the arrow and dagger I got hit with yesterday, my armor prevented it from piercing, but it did not displace the force." Her expression was hard to read at first and he was unsure of what else to say.
She looked at his bruise thinking of a way to heal it. "There has to be a way." She said,knowing it must be hurting him so much and yet he still managed to work and everything with it. That was torture. Suddenly there was a shimmer and everything went too bright for her to see anything. Gradually the light decreased and before her stood a young man,who looked like he had jumped out of the magazine for the hottest fashion for men. "Dad?"She looked at him. "Take this."He handed her a small vial."it'll help your boyfriend. It's very powerful so apply just a little,also the side effects may cause him to hallucinate, it may also dull his senses for a while and he might not be able to fully comprehend what's going around him, but it will pass." She thanked him."I like this boy. He's funny and he has good style and I've seen how much he cares for you. If I were you,I'd never let him go."He smiled and kissed her forehead before vanishing.
"cas!"She exclaimed excited to tell him that she had found a way to help him.
"Huh, what? What is it Selene?"he asked, her eyes had lit up and she had a bike she hadn't had a second before.
"Huh? What is it Selene?" He asked. Her eyes had lit up and she was now holding a vial she hadn't had a second before. And unless he was going crazy, she looked tanner then she had a second before. "What happened? I feel like I missed something he said." Feeling a bit confused.
Selene looked at him. "My dad came,he gave me this vial.it contains a medicine for sure bruises." She replied smiling. She looked in the trucks rear view mirror and realised her skin was a little tanner and she had a glow on her face,most on her forehead where her father,a god,had kissed her. She smiled at Castiel as she remembered what her dad had said about him.
"Oh, it's medicine? Cool, I wouldn't mind some of that." He said. "Your dads pretty cool for helping out by giving us that medicine. How does it work, do I drink it?" He asked peering curiously at the vial. It was a purple and bubbly liquid with a cork stopper. He felt honored that a god would directly help them on their way.
"Yeah you drink it...just not too much."She warned him before he placed it to his lips. "It has side effects too. So you might want to rest a little before carrying on with our journey. And whatever happens in the side effects,just know it's all going to go away and I'll be by your side,no matter what you might see,it won't be real ok?"She kissed him gently in the cheek.
"How bad can they be?" He said and took a drink. All of a sudden he became dizzy. Woah he thought, this doesn't feel right. And then he fell, but he never hit the ground. He was free falling in darkness. What the hell? Where was he? This is so weird he thought. Just then he heard a sound. It was calling, "Castiel? Castiel where are you?" He froze. That couldn't be right. No. She was dead. Never coming back. This couldn't be right. But then, out of the darkness, she appeared, forming from the shadows. The darkness was rushing all around him, over him, under him. He couldn't even form words. Finally, he managed one word, "mom?"
Selene held him as he drank the medicine. She walked him to the truck and sat him in the backseat as she felt his skin burn up. She took a cloth and dampened it and dabbed it on his forehead,trying to keep him cool. She heard him mutter mom and she knew he was hallucinating.
"Mom what are you doing here?" He asked he was so confused. But then something terrible happened. A sword was thrust through her midsection from behind. Like it had happened on the day she had died. "Mom, no!" He screamed. She fell to her knees and he just didn't stop screaming. He screamed his head off, yelling for his mom. Then the image dissolved. All of a sudden, Selene was there. Castiel was on his knees crying and when he looked up he saw a flash behind her and he screamed to her, "Selene run! Get out of here!" But she just stood there with a blank expression. And the same monster who took his mom ran Selene through. Castiel could not handle this. Something inside him broke. Selene had died. He curled up in a ball and cried. "Oh Selene, forgive me, I couldn't stop it." He said sobbing.
"Cas.." she gently shook him. "Baby,I'm here. I'm right here." She saw tears escape his eyes. "I'm not leaving,not now,not ever."She wrapped her arms around him. He was trembling so much. "Oh god,how much longer?" She cried out as she rubbed his arms,his back,anything to comfort him. "It'll be ok,you're ok. Everything's gonna be fine." She said wiping away his tears.
He did not know how long but he watched terrible images flash through his mind, the camp burning, mortals screaming, and other atrocities. But he was already numbed from his first two visions. All of a sudden, he felt himself lifting and floating upward. Towards a light. I dying he thought, I've died of sorrow, of a broken heart. But then, he was in a more physical place. There was material underneath him, light around him. He was confused. What had happened. His eyes fluttered open and he saw Selene. He broke down right there and then.
She cradled him as he wept,shushing him,comforting him,telling him everything was fine. "Look at me, I'm right here. Everything is ok. It was just a hallucination, it wasn't real."She said and pulled him up to look at her. "Everything is fine baby." She said and pushed her lips onto his with enough force to help him realise she was right there.
She was alive. It had all been his imagination. He could feel his heart start to pick itself up, pieces coming back together. He was so relieved. She kissed him and he savored it. He was still crying, but they had turned to tears of joy. He managed through sobs, "I thought... you... I thought you were dead." She hugged him and told him everything was going to be ok. And that's how he fell asleep, in her arms, face stained with tears.
She didn't know when she had fallen asleep, but when she woke she found Castiel in her lap his cheeks,stained with tears. She gently woke him up,cleaning his face with a wet cloth. "How did you sleep love?" She asked hoping he didn't suffer anymore nightmares.
He just stared at her for a second. Taking in every detail. "Slept like a baby." H replied giving her a wry smile. He inspected his shoulder and side only to see it looked perfectly fine. "At least it worked
He commented. He got up and stretched. "Man, how long was I out?" He asked.
"2 days." She replied. She smiled and kissed his cheek."I'm glad you slept fine. How is your shoulder and side?" She asked "does it hurt?" She asked hoping the medicine worked as her father had said it would.
"Feels good as new! Your dad sure knows how to heal some nasty injuries. Although, less hallucinations would've been good." He said. "Where are we?" He asked observing his surroundings. It looked like it was more desert than when he was last awake. Grinning he called, "didn't scratch the truck did ya?"
"Honestly no idea where we're at. I didn't even know the directions until my dad just kind of whispered them in my mind and I followed him." She replied then grinned."nope,your truck is perfectly fine." She laughed.
"Alright, hold on. I have a flip phone in my bag. I can use the cell tower connections to form a satellite connection and then make a gps, just give me an hour. Sorry it'll take so long but I don't have the right equipment, ill have to improvise." He said, already going through the process of taking apart the phone.
"Wow." She smiled and sat down and took out her book. Might as well read as he took care of that,she thought and dove into the world in the book.
It was tricky but he managed to make a gps. He had taken apart the phone, rewiring the internals, using some spare parts to modify the antenna to make it stronger, redoing the communication code and frequency, making it comparable with a location satellite and then reassembled it. Vióla! "Finished." he said, walking over to Selene who had her nose buried in a book. She sighed and tapped her wrist like she was indicating the time giving him a sly smile. "Your kidding right! I did that in 40 minutes, and I was even to add a funny British accent to our guide! Have you no satisfaction!" He said to a cracking up Selene.
She smirked and got up. "Nope. None." She laughed as she walked closer to him and leaned into kiss him but as their lips were about to touch she giggled and started tickling him. Now I'm satisfied." She laughed as he did too.
"No fair! That was a dirty trick!" He yelled as she tickled him. "Ok, ok, you got me he said surrendering. Anyway, GPS says were in the middle of Nevada, only 2 hrs away from where I think we need to be. If we leave now, we'll make it before noon." He said, examining the converted gps.
"I'm always upto dirty tricks." She laughed. "Ok perfect." She smiled after hearing that. "How long do you think before we reach Nate? Or wherever we're headed?"
"LA? I'd give it one days drive from the statue yard. If we're lucky." He said, snorting because they were never lucky. He loaded the truck and hopped in the drivers seat, Selene getting in the passenger side. They took off down the road to yet another song. This time it was Radar love. Castiel smiled.
