Selene fell on to the bed exhausted and castiel wasn't surprised seeing as she was just coming off a nasty injury. He got a glass of water incase she woke up thirsty during the night. He wrapped his arms around her for security and they both fell asleep.

When she woke up this time she was glad to know she had slept a good sleep. She smiled at Castiel. "Wake up love."She softly shook him to wake him up.
Castiel woke tomselene calling his name, but he wasn't worried because there was no sense of urgency in her voice. While she used the shower and bathroom, Castiel set out pop tarts, granola bars, and water. The breakfast of champions. When it was his turn, he cleaned up as well and after a quick breakfast he said, "Ready to hit the road? We're making great time. 2 more days and were in Colorado!" He said, giving Selene a little lift and twirl, still careful not to aggravate her ribs.
She took a long nice shower and put on a light sundress. She didnt want to wear anything too tight and this flowing dress was perfect. She came out to see Castiel setting the table. "Wow cas." She smiled as she sat down to eat. "Yup as ready as i could be." She answered.
He smiled at her and said, "the admiral of such a glorious army should never set her own table, especially if she has an injury." He said, making it sound as if a servant would say it. They both chuckled, but Selene winced because of her ribs so he tried to reign in his smiles and jokes. But this only made them laugh more as they looked at each other and they just couldn't help themselves. After a solid minute of giggling, Castiel apologized for making her laugh and she replied by giving him a kiss right on the lips. He smiled and said, "maybe I'll just make you laugh more often then." As he gave her a mischievous smile and winked.
"Well I'd kiss you anyways but now that you mention it.."she smirked."you're getting kisses only when you make me laugh."She grinned sheepishly."ofcourse that shouldn't be hard for you since you're always making me laugh." She smiled."now me on the other hand..i should recieve kisses all the time cause im injured and i need love and attention."She smiled making a cute face."dont you agree?"
"You know, I couldn't agree more." He said, as he bent over her, and smothered her with kisses until she giggled, at which point she returned a kiss. They were both in high spirits and it was the start to a good day he felt. "Have you enough kisses admiral?" He asked. She responded by puckering her lips, so he gave her one, pressing it softly onto her lips and lingering there for just a second and when he pulled away, his mind was buzzing even more. "Gods I love you." He said to her.
She melted at his kiss as it was so soft yet so powerful. She smiled and hugged him lightly and looked into his eyes. "You know ill never have enough kisses with you right?" She said toying with the hem of his shirt."I love you more than you can imagine."She smiled softly. How she wished time would stop and they'd stay there like this.
They embraced and time seemed to slow down, but not slow enough, because someone was wrapping on their door calling out, "Room service!" This made Castiel anxious and he grabbed his dagger as he went to go look through the peephole of their door. But he just say a hotel maid. He had had their things packed and ready to go so hemturned to Selene and said, "well, it looks like we better head out. Are you ready?"
"Yup!"She said as she gathered her stuff and slung her bag over her back and opened the door to the room service lady. She grabbed a snickers from the table and headed out."come on Castiel!"She called out from the hallway as he did last minute checking. She started walking to the truck.
He made sure they had everything and hustled after her, not wanting to let her out of his sight after the last hotel experience. He caught up to her at the elevator and they rode it to the first floor. When they made it to the truck, Selene loaded her stuff and hopped in, Castiel did the same as well. They were on the road again, cruising over the Mississippi and into Iowa in no time at all.
She turned on the radio and relaxed in her seat as they drove on. After two days of driving and extreme boredom they finally reached Colorado. When they stopped at a hotel to freshen up she practically jumped out of the truck. "Finally!!" She cried. "Atleast were progressing quite fast." She smiled and waited for Castiel to join her.
They had made it to Colorado and it was a relief, it had gone smoothly and Selene was feeling much better. It had been a pretty uneventful ride and they were now only 30 mins from the garden of the gods and the museum. He was getting anxious because the drive had gone a little... to easy. He called for Selene to wait up and went after her. They got in their hotel room and he said to her, "I'm gonna take a look around real quick. I don't like the feel of this place. Don't open the door for anyone but me ok?" He gave her a quick kiss and slipped out of the room.
"Ok baby."She smiled though she felt dread creep in her heart. She trusted his instincts. Demigod instincts were almost always right. She locked the door and sat inside waiting for him to come back. After a while a thought occurred to her. Nate had shape shifters... she prayed to the gods and hoped fir the best. Castiel was smart,he could take care of himself.
Castiel creeped down the hall and everything seemed to check out. He went down to the lobby and took a look around. Just as he was about to leave, he saw 2 men walk in. They looked suspicious so he followed them. Then, he watched in horror as one of them took a picture out of his pocket and then morphed into something. Shape shifters. They went to the second floor where he and Selene were staying. He decided he needed to act now, because they were knocking on their door. She would never let them in because it wasn't him. But still, he wanted to take care of them. He stepped up to the first man and slit his throat, and the second man turned and what he saw made him gasp. He was looking at a mirror image of himself. They hesitated then lunged at each other, each with a knife. The shifter knocked him over and came down on top of him, Castiel grabbed his wrist before he could sink the knife into his chest. They were in a deadlock. Then the door opened, and they both looked up at her and in unison said, "Selene, help me!"
She stood there in utter dismay. Her eyes wandered from the Castiel on top to the one below. She felt like she was gonna do something stupid and she started panicking. Which one? Which one? She realised then in a second how she would get out of here alive and with the right Castiel. She had prayed to the Gods and she had gotten their help. As they stood before her telling her all the things the real Castiel would say,she was working on her plan. She suddenly judo flipped the Castiel who had been at the bottom previously and she ran to the other Castiel,taking him in an embrace. "Oh Castiel..."she cried as she let her hands drop down his body slowly. She then without any warning,stabbed him in the back."did you really think you could pull off being my boyfriend?" She watched as he morphed back into himself as she ran to Castiel and helped him up. She had felt that the man had nothing in his pocket when she had dropped her hands, and she knew Castiel kept a picture of his mom,his wallet and the necklace she had given him. Plus her necklace would have glowed black if Castiel was hurt or dead so when she stabbed him,she was sure it wasn't the real one and sure enough the necklace didn't turn black.
As soon as he was judo flipped, he felt a sense of doom fall over him. She had chosen wrong he thought, any second now he'd get stabbed he jus knew it. But then, he heard a strangled cry and looked up. Selene stood their with a knife in the shapeshifter back. Castiel let out a sigh of relief and got to his feet only to be tackled by a hug. "How did you know! I thought I was a goner for a second! Holy crap!" He gasped. She smiled and patted his right front pocket where he kept his necklace and picture. Of course! She must have somehow checked his pocket! "Brilliant Selene! Oh my god that was awesome! You really are clever, I shoulda known you'd never hurt me!" he said, pulling her in for another hug.
She smiled and pulled him up. "Sorry about that though."she said dusting him off. She then walked over to the imposter and looked down at him. He wasn't dead,not yet. "What do you want to do cas?" She looked to her beloved and then back to the man.
"Good question Selene, I say we ask him a few questions." Replied Castiel. He dragged the imposter into their room and tied him up in the office chair. "Look ways Selene." He told her as he cut the shifters Achilles so he couldn't walk. He didn't like it himself, but it was a monster and he was taking no chances of it escaping them. the shifter roared in pain. "Alright, Selene, would you like to do the honors of asking the questions?" He asked, twirling his knife menacingly in his fingers for the shifters benefit.
Selene growled as she watched the monster. "Where is Nate? And how does he know about us and where we are?" She asked a menacing look on her features.The monster grunted in pain and spat at the floor."I will never tell you. I'm loyal to his master Nathaniel and you won't get a single piece of information out of me."he grinned as he looked at them.
Instantly, Castiel swiped the monster across the chest leaving a shallow thin cut that he was sure stung like hell. "That's my girlfriend, and the admiral of the most bad ass army on the earth right now, so I'm sure you don't mind showing her some respect." He growled at the monster. Then he turned to Selene and said nicely, "please continue."
When the monster still showed resistance, Selene pulled out her blade and it was celestial,fatal to monsters. "You answer me when I ask you a question.."She growled,a menacing aura around her. "Or I will cut you slowly and painfully."Something snapped in the monster as he felt the power of the blade near him. It burnt him and it hadn't even touched him yet. "I don't know...where..he is at the moment..he's always moving.. and he knows where you always are because..he's put a tracking spell on you... "
"How?"Selene pushed on
"The day you two arrived at camp...one of the two boys was Nate,the son of Hecate,he holds great power and he knows great magic.i don't know what he wants from you,he wouldn't tell anyone that." He finished grunting in pain.
Castiel snorted with disgust, "Monsters always sell out. Are we finished with him?" Asked Castiel. "I think we'd better get going on finding... Vincent." He said not wanting to share their knowledge with the shifter. "It could very well break the tracking spell." Said Castiel hopefully. Then we could stop worrying about idiots like this. He said jutting his chin to the shifter in the chair.
Selene nodded and walked out with Castiel and into the truck. "The monster won't be able to go back to Nate now,he's a traitor." She said and tried to calm down."Nate is really starting to get on my nerves now."she said,still fuming mad.
"Tell me about it. I swear if I get my hands on him I'm gonna wring his neck for all the crap he's pulled." He said in anger. "At least once we get these marbles, I don't think any magic will work on us, including that pesky tracking spell of his." Castiel commented. He put the truck in gear and they pulled onto the interstate. Castiel grinned as he blasted the radio, because highway to hell had come on, and he could think of no better song at that moment.
She couldn't help but grin as well. She laughed at the dangers they were going to face but she knew she was going to give Nate hell because that's exactly what he was doing to her right now. Why does he want me though? She thought out loud. What possibly could he want from me?
He glances at Selene. "Yeah, that's what I wanna know, what does he want from you? I mean, doesn't he know you hate him? What is he gonna do with you?" He said worriedly. After that encounter, he knew he could never let Selene fall int nate's hands. Even if it cost his life. He shuddered. "Were almost to the museum. Look at that landscape! The garden of the gods truly is beautiful!" He said in a state of awe. He'd never seen anything like it.
"That's what's stressing me out."she groaned. "I don't know what's his problem." She looked out her window. "Gods that truly is beautiful...it's so breathtaking."She smiled and admired the sight before her. "I can't wait to explore this area!"
"Why don't you just stay close to me, I don't want you to go running off and displace another rib." He said playfully. As they pulled up to the museum, a white columned building with marble steps, he got the feeling he was approaching a temple. He knew it wasn't, but the building seemed old and powerful. They walked in and found a frail, wrinkled old women sitting at a reception desk. They walked by her, not even sure if she noticed. He found the art section and started looking around for the famous statue of Vincent. Carved in Greek into the statue it said, "Φωτιζόμενα λουλούδια που φωτίζουν φωτεινά

"It's the riddle!" Exclaimed Castiel, they were in the right spot! "Would you Look around the gallery? I'm gonna examine the statue ok?" he said to Selene.
Selene nodded and walked around looking for any clue she might be able to find. The place was absolutely beautiful,it had the vintage sense to it which she really enjoyed. She looked at the old lady,not sure if she was a mortal or another one of hates monsters but she kept a lookout as she saw some old pictures and artefacts.
As Selene walked around, he examined the statue. He couldn't sense any gears or machinations. This confused him sense almost all statues, especially ones associated with the gods would have some kind of mechanical feature. He stepped back and looked at the statue. The painter was staring off into the distance with a brush in his right and a canvas in his left arm, as if he were about to make his first stroke on the canvas. The ceiling was a mural, of clouds with a violent tint to them. This must be the swirling clouds of violet haze he guessed. He stared back at the statue. For a full 5 minutes he stood there looking from the canvas to the ceiling to the painters face. The statues expression showed a sense of complex thought and a hint of serenity. And his piercing blue eyes were- wait. His eyes. They were brilliant blue as if they were two glowing marbles... no he thought to himself. Surely dad wouldn't. Yes, yes he would actually. He groaned and called Selene over. How were they going to get 20 feet up in the air to destroy the face of an ancient statue?
Selene walked over and followed his gaze. "Oh no.." she groaned as he told tell her. "Well obviously have to wait until the museum closes. Then we come back at the night and get the marbles."She told him. "We can't get them right now anyways." She told "also... we'll need some supplies to blow up this statue."She looked up at the painter. "Your dad is so clever."she smirked.
"Yeah, he made sure that they wouldn't fall out. Securing them is an understatement. But I don't think we should blow it up, my dad might take offense to that, and the marbles might get damaged. I have a chisel in my truck and some supplies. You said you would like to explore so, wanna take a hike and maybe camp until nightfall?" He asked, knowing Selene was dying to explore the rucks and crevices of the beautiful landscape.
"Omg I'd love to."She then smirked."is that like a date? Since we haven't had one.."She grinned as she looked at him and laughed,amusement in his eyes and hers as well. "It would be the best date ever."She grinned,taking his hand as they walked out of the museum,the old lady still seated in her chair,probably bored of life.
A first date. He'd never been on a date. He found himself nervous and ticking, even though he'd already been through so much with this girl. It surprised him he could still get nervous around her. Man! He grabbed the two packs on of the truck and handed one to Selene. Then he put on a pair of boots and sunglasses and a green shirt made of light material over his armored t-shirt. A thought came to his mind and he chuckled. "Now, I'm no expert, but am I allowed to kiss you on the first date?" He said being sure to sound like he really meant it. He smiled when Selene cracked up with that amazing laugh of hers. This was going to be fun.
She laughed at his question. It was so cute when he was nervous. She decided to mess with him a little."what if I say...no?"she tried to keep a serious face but she couldn't fully mask her smirk as she looked at him while the radio played love songs. This was hilarious. She loved it.
Her comment caught him off guard for a second and his face twitched like it did when he was super nervous, but her smirk told him she was joking. "Oh haha, let's toy with the nervous kid." He said with a slight pout, "come here you he said as he chased her around the truck, arms outstretched trying to get ahold of her to tickle her. She ran laughing and giggling, trying to evade his grasp.
She laughed merrily and squealed when he caught upto her. She laughed and tried to pull away as he lightly tickled her and she tickled him back. Times like those were truly beautiful. She smiled and caught her breath."the answer,my love,is yes."she laughed as she ruffled his hair.
And with that yes, he leaned forward and kissed her passionately. And when he pulled back he said, "did you know if I'd never met you, I would be taking an AP biology exam right now and then I would go to track practice, run and then take the bus to a stop near my woods. From there I would've trudged home, sunken, beaten, alone. No one to come home to. But instead I'm with you. And you don't know how much that means to me." He told her. "Now I have someone to care about, to protect. You put a purpose in my life, and I thank you."
She had tears in her eyes as he told her that."oh Castiel." She pulled him forward to kiss him again and then pulled back. "I didn't really know I could ever find love,let alone true love. My life has been filled with dangers and all I knew was that no one would be willing to spend their time with me,risking their lives for me,but you.. you've shown me just how much you care. Without you I'd probably be dead to be honest.."she replied and hugged him. "Thankyou for coming in my life."
They sat there holding each other, silently thanking the other person over and over for everything. Castiel said, "hey, why don't we go do some exploring love? It will be fun and we can find a nice quiet spot to make a fire. Whaddya say?" He said smiling at her and tracing hearts on her back.
She smiled."I'd love that."She smiled some more as he traced hearts on her back. It felt very relaxing."this place is absolutely stunning and I can't wait to explore more of it. This will be one of my favourite memories."
"Well, let's get to it!" He said, standing up and then helping up Selene in turn. He put his pack on and lead her to the crest of a hill. Looking down he saw miles and miles of dry land with blazing rock spires jutting from the ground. The afternoon light filtering through the thin clouds over head. The scenery was breathtaking as they trekked through rugged terrain and rocky paths. Finally they came to a beautiful outcropping of rocks that overlooked a valley with a stream running through it. The sun was almost touching the horizon in the distance and Castiel turned to Selene and said, "there goes your dad in his sun chariot, almost out of sight. It sure is beautiful."
She admired the sight as she stood there gazing at it. "This is truly a magnificent sight." She smiled and started exploring making sure to stay in castiel's sight. "Cas!" She called him over to come explore along with her.
"Coming!" He called, but before he could move a figure was blocking his way. Everything stopped. The breeze, the water, everything. Before him stood his dad. "Son, I'm here for only a brief moment, but you must listen, I have a message I wish to give you. Magic, it is a powerful force, but weak on the minds of a logic thinking mad. One like you and I. We know what should be able to be and not to be. What's real and what isn't. Use this. Sometimes thinking like a machine has its advantages." He said and then vanished. Everything returned to normal. What the hell? Did that actually just happen? He was confused. He ran to Selene and immediately told her what had happened. "And you didn't notice anything? No stoppage of time, no pause?" He questioned after explaining his story.
She listened to him,tell his story."nope everything is normal. Nothing stopped or freezes." She reported. "Why do you think your dad said what he said. Maybe he was giving you a warning. We should keep our eyes open." She said as she looked around."cas what if were being followed even now. What if someone else knows about the marbles?"
"I don't think-" he broke off. Everyone knew about the marbles. It was in that song that had been listened to by almost every American mortal who had internet. "Hold on don't move a muscle. I'm going to try something." He turned in a 360° circle and looked everywhere absorbing every detail. Looking for anything out of place. He waited 5 min and did it again. He stopped at 60° a bush was missing. He continued around, not letting his expressions change. He leaned in close like he was kissing Selene's neck and whispered, "I think Nate wove an invisibility spell around one of his minions and I think there is one to my right. Don't move don't act scared, follow my lead." He then made it loudly known he was gonna grab some brush for a fire. Keeping his eye where the bush had disappeared. He had a purple powder in his bag he used to disinfect wounds and he grabbed it. As he closed on the spot, the bush appeared. He was standing right next to the invisible man. He whipped to the side and threw powder all over the spot. A humanoid shape lined in powder took shape. And it was holding a bow and arrow, pointed right at his face.
Selene let pout a scream as she saw the figure take on shape at the right moment. His arrow was aimed at Castiel's face. Her heart was beating so fast,she felt it might jump out if her rib cage,which had also started to hurt again. She trembled. The guy warned them not to move,any sudden movements and he'd shoot the arrow. She stood there frozen in fear as the man made sure no one tried anything,
Castiel chuckled. Then he started laughing. Of all the damn things that were happening, an invisible Amanda had an arrow pointed at his face. He didn't know why it was funny but he just wondered, how the hell do I get myself into these things. The man told him to shut up but he couldn't. Castiel gathered himself and called to Selene who looked like she thought he was insane, "hey, would you bet on this guy or me?" And the guy lowered the bow an inch. And with that he jumped upward. The arrow was let loose but that didn't matter to Castiel, he just was hoping it would hit his chest not his head. The arrow connected with his armor on his left shoulder and it hurt, but he yanked his sword out with his right arm landing and cut the bow in half. A blade was drawn he assumed because he heard metal scrape leather and something connected with his left side, again bouncing off his armor. He stabbed his sword forward and clipped the man, but it was too late for him as Selene had drawn her bow and fired. The arrow hung in mid air and then dropped. purple powder rained down everywhere and with that, it was over.
She ran over to him."you had me so scared."She hugged him tightly,not letting go. "Cas.." her depression was creeping in. "I'm scared..we need more help. We could get really hurt or even worse,killed." Tears streamed down her face. "We're not safe anywhere."She sat down as all the past events that had happened to them replayed in her mind. "We don't hold much power compared to Nate and this is Nate we're talking about,not even Kronos."
