He really hoped she couldn't feel his heartbeat because it was going a mile a minute, his hand brushed her cheek and they stared deeply into each other's eyes. He wished it could never end, then all of a sudden he was feeling an entirely new sensation. One of being watched. He gave Selene an alarmed look and she seemed to sense his fear. They jumped up just in time for the Aphrodite camper they had seen earlier to jump out with a knife. But wait. His eyes were yellow. Then it all made sense, why he'd gotten a bad vibe from him. He wasn't a camper. He was a shape shifter. He yanked his sword off his neck and it sprang to full size. "Selene! Watch out!"

((Yeah just how we're doing. That good right?))His eyes were like a magnet. Dhe couldn't avert her gaze. She wasnt even sure when or how it happened but that boy from the apbrodite cabin was in front of them. She had learnt his name was Justin. She jumped out of the way just in time or she'd definitely have had a nasty sword wound.
(Just how were doing is perfect)The shape shifter lunged and slashed a Selene but missed by mere inches as she nimbly dodged to the left. "Draw your weapon Selene!" Castiel yelled as he flanked the right side of the shifter, so the monster was between Castiel and Selene. "I come only for the girl. I've orders to collect her." Said the shifter in a gravely voice. Anger rose up within Castiel, "not a chance in hell buddy" he said. Just then, he lunged for selene but was blocked as she raised her bow to intercept the knife coming towards her. Again, where did that bow come from he thought! And when she blocked him, it opened up a chance and Castiel took it. He swung his sword, slicing the monster through the chest, turning the library into a beach. "Jeez, he gasped! Won't these tings give us a break!" As he crossed to selene, embracing her tightly.
(Haha, that's funny! After a few more posts, I'll be going to bed!"
Selene was a little shook from the encounter,still quivering a little. She looked at Castiel. He had gotten a little cut on his collarbone. "Cas... you're bleeding!"She exclaimed as she tried to find a cloth but found herself in a beach. "What's going on here?" She asked clearly confused. ((Oh haha wow. It's 11am here XD)
"That Aphrodite camper wasn't really a camper! Nate can use shape shifters to replicate half bloods he captures and silently sends them back here without anyone knowing! That's why there are traps so close to camp! They catch a half-blood, and send back a shape shifter in his place to spy!" He exclaimed! Oh this is bad news he thought. "Selene, this Nate thing is worse than I thought. All the more reason for us to go bust some heads." He said warily. Selene took all this in and pieced it together while examining over a cut he'd gotten during the scuffle. (I need to go to bed, running in the morning! I'll reply as much as possible! I'm having a lot of fun and you really are an awesome person to do this with!)
"This is a whole lot tougher than I thought it would be." She groaned as she rummaged through her bag fir some medicine. She found a first aid box and being the daughter of apollo she had a few highly effective medicines in there. She applied an ointment on the cut and then sat back in the sand. "Well... Nate is one clever camper and even more dangerous enemy. He probably knows dark magic too."She recalled as he was the son of Hecate.((Don't sorry we'll continue once you're free. Sleep tight and have fun. I'm enjoying this rp too. ))
"Oh crap, I forgot about that. But wait. I have an idea for that. My dad once told me that he invented a marble, that when placed in ones mouth, it gives that person true sight. Able to see through any mist or magic. He called them the seers marbles. He never told me exactly where they were, but he gave me a riddle to help find them and I think i know where to look! Those could be useful!" He said getting excited. It was true he didn't know exactly where they were but he had his suspicions and with the riddle, he thought he might be able to find them!
"I'm so glad you're on this quest with me. I'm really starting to see us returning back to camp after defeating Nate and Kronos."She exclaimed practically jumping up and down."We've got this quest in the bag."
"I hope so, I'm feeling much better about the quest. But we'll have to stop in Colorado for the marbles." He said pondering what his dad had told him all those years ago. "Maybe I should tell you the riddle so you can give me your view on it. It really is a fascinating one. He shared it with me shortly after I realized who I really was and said it could be of great use one day." He said still deep in thought. Had his dad known this moment would come?
"Sure."She smiled and lay her head on his shoulder as he was deep in thought. "What ya thinking?" She asked, watching how deep in thought he was.
"Well, here's some background first. My dad is a great inventor and builder as you know. One thing he does not make common knowledge is that he also enjoys arts. To him a painting is almost like a machine with many parts that contributes to the whole. These similarities intrigued him and his favorite painter of all time was Vincent van Gogh." He explained. "The riddle reads, flaming flowers that brightly blaze, swirling clouds in violet haze reflect in Vincent's eyes of China blue, colors changing hue." He recited aloud. "My theory is that the marbles are in Colorado in the garden of the gods. There is a museum there with a statue of Vincent Van Gogh. Flaming flowers that brightly blaze makes me think garden. The swirling clouds of violet haze perfectly describes the garden of the gods famous sunset that causes the firey landscape to mix with purple clouds. That's where I think we need to go."
"You.."She breathed "are an absolute genius!" She crushed him in a hug before picking up her bag and then looking around one last time. "Let's get out of here and onto the road of success."She smiled at him."this ought to be fun as long as we don't die in the way."
He laughed as he was tackeled in a rib crushing hug. "that's the attitude! To the truck then! You know, one of your siblings wrote a song about the riddle as a gift to my dad." He said, not sure why he was telling her this random fact. "The heros name was Don McLean, a son of Apollo, and the song was called starry starry night. The mortals loved it, but you, me and my dad are the only ones who know it's secret meaning." He said winking at her. When they got to the truck, they hopped in and just like that, they were on the road headed west. Selene leaned on his shoulder as he drove and he couldn't help but sing in his mind, on the road again.
She hadn't realised that she'd fallen asleep. She woke up to see Castiel yawning while his eyes were fixated on the road but she could tell he was tired."Cas...take a break, love."She said still a bit sleepy. "Don't drive when you're tired. It's dangerous." She said putting her hand on top of his."we can continue after you're rested."
Castiel was barely keeping his eyes open. But they had made good time so he just kept driving. They had gotten out of the state of New York ok and were about halfway through Pennsylvania. Selene had fallen asleep and so he had a lot of time to think and the more he did, the more sure he felt they had a pretty good shot at pulling this off. As long as Selene was with him. Just then selene's eyes fluttered open as he yawned. She knew he was dead tired and told him to take a break. He agreed and they pulled into a motel 8 that looked decent enough. He got a room for them and flopped on the bed. He was dead tired. "Think... I'm gonna... take a light... coma." He muttered jokingly just before he fell into a deep sleep.
Selene climbed in besides him and fell asleep, with her head on his shoulder,his arms around her. Later in the night she woke due to an intense burn on her neck. She looked down to see it was glowing red. danger She quietly wriggled from under Castiel's arm not wanting to wake him up,he was so tired and he'd barely had enough sleep. She tiptoed to the window and checked outside. Nothing. She then crossed the room and opened the door to the room and looked out in the hallway. It all seemed good. She shook her head thinking it must've been a false alarm or maybe she had imagined it. She started closing the door when suddenly she was pulled out,a hand on her mouth,unable to scream she thrashed around but it didn't make a difference. Her heart might just have pounded out of her chest. It was so dark she couldn't even see the people. She kicked the door to her room before she was jolted back into the dark hallway.
((So the necklace is magical and whenever the other half of the necklace bearer is in trouble,it starts glowing black and heats up if it is near its other half.))
Castiel woke to a sharp burning sensation in his pocket when he kept the necklace. He jumped out of bed and instantly realized something was wrong. Selene was gone and the door to their room open. "Selene!" He yelled. He heard a struggle going on down the hall and stepped into the hallway. What he saw wasn't good. 3 people dressed in all black were dragging Selene down the hall and she was thrashing wildly. Her foot got loose and kicked an attacker in the face and there was a satisfying crack but they just kept dragging her. "Selene! He yelled again as he drew his sword and ran after her. One of the attackers turned and left the other two to hold off Castiel. Castiel was tired but he was also VERY pissed off. He charged, and just before he engaged the enemy, he caught sight of the fear in Selene's eyes and seeing this, he was flushed with more strength than ever before. "He was not letting them take her."
Selene boiled in anger at the three people. Two boys one girl. She was being dragged by a boy while the other two were sent to take care of Castiel."let me go!" She yelled kicking at the guy who only yelled in anger and slammed her into the wall. She had broken something,she knew that but at the moment her thoughts were all on helping Castiel and then getting the hell out of here. She sat up, her sight a bit dizzy as she reached for her arrows but getting nothing. "Damn it", she cursed under her breath. She was too weak to muster up any magic to summon them. She got up and kicked the guy before he saw what was coming and managed to throw him off guard. She then punched him hard and he fell unconscious. She ignored the fact that her knuckles were bleeding as she ran towards Castiel and grabbed the girl and turned her towards her. "Hands off my boyfriend.." she growled before judo flipping her while Castiel handled the boy.
Castiel sword clashed with a boy, who was a good 3 inches taller than him and weighed at least 50 more pounds than him. But it was like it didn't matter, he was so very angry. It coursed through his veins and made him strong. The attacker slashed and thrusted, but castiel was untouchable and he blocked and parried his attackers attempts to get to him. Then he saw his opportunity. His attacker made a backhand slash that Castiel blocked and locked the attackers hilt. He moved his leg behind the boys front leg and pushed with all his might. The attacker tripped on his leg and fell into the wall, his head making a dull thump as it hit the wall and the boy slumped there, unconscious. He turned ready for another assailant, but all he say was a bruised Selene gasping for air but smiling. "That's ma girl!" He said observing the two enemies on the floor. But she winced holding her ribs. It looked as if a few were broken if he had to guess. "Cmon, let's get out of here and fix you up." He said helping her gather herself.
She smiled."well tough fight but we made it out alive!"She grinned before her knees buckled and she fell in his arms. "Ouch...yeah now I feel the pain. My ribs are definitely broken."She winced as Castiel helped Cary her down. "Stupid enemies,they won't even let us rest."She sighed which made her wince out in pain again. She was wheezing by the time they reached the truck and as she got in she hoped she'd be ok in no time.
"Here, I have some nectar and ambrosia in my bag, it should help speed up the hearing process." he said handing her the bag. He kept his foot on the accelerator until they were well on their way. Then he spoke, "selene, are you ok? How did they find us? Oh yeah, also way to kick ass too." He said grinning. "How bad are your ribs?" He said pinching his face in worry. He needed her at 100%, and broken ribs were one of the more painful injuries you could get.
She sipped some nectar and took the ambrosia. "I-uh-I'm fine."She said breathing slowly but painfully. "Nate must have had a magic to track us. He's proved joe powerful he is and I don't think this is gonna be his last attempt at taking us."She lifted her knuckles which were bruised pretty bad. "Thanks, I learnt all this from ares. He used to come around when Aphrodite would visit me."She paused. "Oh I'm sorry,uh Aphrodite is your step mother in a way,I shouldn't have brought up ares, it must be awkward."
"Haha, ya know, not everyone gets treated fair in life. My father was never well accepted by the other olympians. When Aphrodite was forced into marrying him by the other olympians, he knew it wouldn't end well. He was ugly and crippled from being thrown off mount Olympus and he knows this. Sure he and Ares are rivals, but if you ask me, he's happier with his machines. He's worse around people than I am. I don't harbor any hostility towards ares, I just wish the others would accept my dad as something more than an ugly mechanic." He said almost sadly. He knew about only some of his dads feelings, and how complex they could be. "But they go good together, love and war. Because between the two, all is fair."
She felt a lump at her throats as she listened to him. A tear rolled down her cheek. "I think your dad is pretty awesome, also if it weren't for him, I wouldn't meet you." She smiled and kissed his cheek. "You're the best thing to happen to me and I'll always be by your side. Forever. I accept you as you are and I find myself as the most luckiest girl in the world to have a boy like you in her life. You're sweet,funny,hardworking,intelligent,caring, I could go on and on."She smiled and cuddled with him.
At this he smiled. "Thank you, it means the world to me." he said, giving a soft smile. She leaned up against him as he drove and he relaxed a little. "So how did you become friends with Aphrodite?" He asked. He was generally curious because it was never easy to get on a gods good side and sometimes came with a hefty price.
"My mom always used to worship Aphrodite. She believed that aphrodite was an important goddess because in her life love was the most important. When apollo fell in love with her,she had blessed aphrodite for creating love in the hearts of all and Aphrodite appreciated all the compliments and worships so naturally when i came along she blessed me to show her gratitude to my mom. And ever since then she sometimes visits and my mom her and i have tea and a little chit chat." She explained. All the talking had didtracted her from her pain but now it was coming back. She squeezed her eyes shut. "Cas..it hurts.."She said pain laced in her tone
"Ah geez, did the ambrosia and nectar help?" He asked. He was answered by the pain that showed on her face. "Ok, here, I'm gonna pull over and take a look ok?" He found a deserted stretch of highway and pulled over. He helped Selene out and carried her to the bed of the truck. "Show me where it hurts." She gingerly showed him a spot on her side. He took a close look at it and gasped. Oh this was not good. The ribs had not broken, nut had been pushed in leaving a terrible bruise, a dent and possibly giving her internal bleeding. "Selene you aren't gonna like this, and it's gonna hurt like hell, but when I tell you, take a deep breath in." She gave him a crazy look. "I know it hurts but you need to inflate your lungs as much as possible to pop 2 ribs back in place." He pleaded with her. He grabbed bath salts he had packed for reviving anyone who may black out for whatever reason. "Ok, big breath!" He said. She inhaled and abruptly made a strangled cry, in too much pain to form words. She started to black out and he held the bath salts under her nose. She came back and he said, "again"
This hurt too much to even think about what was going on. She inhaled again,tears streaming down her face. She heard him say again and she did it again and again until she felt like she couldn't anymore. The pain was too overwhelming and she just wanted to get rid of the pain. It scared her at that moment that if she was in so much pain due to this one injury then who knew what else was in store. She couldn't feel anything anymore,too much in pain to even open her eyes,she muttered his name before blacking out.
She blacked out and this time it took her a minute to come back to. But it wasn't even her. It was a dazed, pained, spaced out version. He was crying but he kept a steady voice. He hated doing this to her. "Ok, just one more. If you take a really big breath it will stop the pain. Please. Please you can do this." He pleaded more tears rolling down his cheek. "Please, for me." He said and a tiny window of clarity showed in her eyes. She took one final deep breath and there was a small pop. He was wracked with sobs of relief as she blacked out once more on his shoulder. He dripped some nectar between her lips, and grabbed bandages. He wrapped her ribs to help stabilize them so they could heal properly. He carried her into the back seat and splayed her down across the three seats and closed the door. He was still worried but also relieved. She was gonna be fine. But he knew that would hurt like hell when she woke up. He hopped in the drivers seat and took off down the highway again. He was left to reflect on what was ahead.
It took her a long time to regain conscience and once she did,it wasn't relief of being alive that welcomed her,it was pain. The terrible terrible pain. She told herself she was strong enough for this and got up,her head swimming. She couldn't make sense of what was going on and she didn't try to. Every breath she took,hurt. It hurt like hell but what could she do. She had to tolerate it. She realised the truck wasn't moving and then she missed Castiel. "Cas?....castiel?"she called out in a faint voice. She leaned back against the seat, a hand on her chest.
He was pumping gas when she finally came too. He had been driving for a day and a half and had only a 3 hour nap during that time. They were in Illinois and had made excellent time. He just took out the gas nozzle when he heard a weak cry. He opened the back door and she looked worried and in pain. "Hey, hey, it's me, it's alright. I got your rib back in place and it's all wrapped up but you have got a giant bruise. No internal bleeding though!" He reported. He had closely inspected and watched it over the past few days and there was no blood pooling and that was a good sign. "Hey baby, it's gonna be alright, I'm finding us a hotel that you can recover in for a day or two. Hold on love I've got food and water for when we get there." She slumped back and payed down. Managed to carry her up to their room and brought food and water up after. He sat at her side and waited for her to wake, staring at her beautiful face.
Selene woke up once again after another session of passing out. She found herself surrounded in fluffy cushions and most importantly a warmth by her side,which came from Castiel. She turned to look at him and realised he was sleeping. "Oh baby.." she stroked his cheek lovingly knowing he'd done so much for her. She decided it was time to get some food into her system and before she could get up to look for food,she saw some food and water by her table. She loved him even more in that instance. He took care of all her needs. She ate and drank and when she was content she wrapped her arms around Castiel and started leaving trails of kisses from his shoulder to his neck to his face for him to wake upto.
Castiel woke up to a tickling sensation on his neck and realized it was Selene. This instantly made him smile and he said, "seems like somebody is feeling better." His response was a kiss on his lips which made him smile Even more. He sat up feeling very well rested as he stretched. He let his arms find their way around Selene and he gently hugged her and pulled her in for another kiss taking care to not cause her pain. "Are you feeling alright? Did you eat your food? Are you in pain?" He asked trying to asses what condition she was in.
She giggled. "I'm feeling better, yes I ate my food and no not in too much pain."She smiled snuggling up against him. "What about you? How're you doing? I missed three days of talking to you while I was unconscious. I'm sure you missed by awesome self telling you amazing stories in those days didn't you?"she smirked. She lay her head on his chest,not seeming to get over the fact that she was ok and In his arms.
Truthfully, he had missed her and was very glad she was snuggled up with him. "Oh I missed you plenty love." He replied. "I mostly drove a lot. I've got a permanent picture of the road burned into my mind and it isn't ever going to leave. You gave me one hell of a scare back there. I didn't know if you were gonna get those ribs back in place. Were in Illinois right now. About 30 min from the Mississippi River and Iowa." He said, updating her. He had done plenty of thinking while she had been out. A question had been nagging at him since the attack. "Why did they try to kidnap you? They didn't even go for me, they just took you. I thought that was odd."
"I don't know." She sighed. Then she too pondered over it. "You're right. It is odd." Her brows furrowed in concentration. "It must be on Nate's orders Ofcourse, but would could he possibly want from me?" She tried to recall all information about Nate she could. "I think..." she said after a long pause,"there's another part to this story." Suddenly a memory hit her. "Nate was given a prophecy before he left. He wasn't really given it,it was more of a cursed prophecy. I think...this has something to do with his curse."
"Woah what prophecy? What did it say?" He asked worriedly. He didn't like the sound of Selene being in a cursed prophecy. He didn't like the sound of it one bit. He pulled her closer as if it would help ward off the prophecy. Her brow was furrowed and she was deep in thought so he asked again, "selene, what did the prophecy say?"
She looked at him."I-i can't remember cas...it's like my memory's blocked. It contained words of sacrifice and something to do with two gods,one demigod." She burrowed her head in his chest. "I'm scared Castiel... I couldn't even take the pain of this one injury,how will I ever defeat Nate?" Her eyes filled with tears.
He was scared too, but he couldn't show it. "Hey, hey, you did fine this time! I was here to help you through it! Plus I remember you taking down two of the enemies after you got the injury. Pretty impressive if you ask me. It's gonna be alright. I'm right here to help you through it. Were gonna be ok, I promise." He said soothingly, brushing a strand of hair from her face. "Whatever is in store for us, we'll face it like we have so far, together. You and me darling." He gave her a soft grin and continued, "if ya stick with me kid, nothing is ever gonna stop you." He bent down and kissed her forehead, trying to calm her.
She smiled and hugged him tightly. "Babyyyy."She smothered his face in kisses."I don't know what I'd do without you."She smiled and sunk below,resting her head on his chest as sleep befell her. Her dreams were not pleasant. She dreamt of tsunamis,earthquakes,volcanoes and then she dreamt of the ground splitting with her on one side and Castiel on the other. She cried out fir him but it was no use,they had been separated as she heard an evil laugh from somewhere behind her..
She gasped and was awoke,panting. It was just a nightmare,it's not real. Not real. She calmed herself down. She turned to see Castiel sleeping besides her and she instantly felt better.she smiled and leaned over to face him when he turned around and it wasn't Castiel it was Nate! "I have everything I need now. " he grinned an evil grin as he reached out to grab her..
She woke up panting and shaking hard. It was a nightmare within a nightmare. She was too scared to even try to look at her side. Was this real? Or another nightmare? She knew somehow Nate was messing with her brain.
Selene was shaking next to him when he woke up and immediately he was trying to wake her up. She looked like she was having a seizure and she wasn't waking. Shit! He thought, the bath salts are in the bathroom and he ran to grab them. When he returned he called, "Selene, baby, wake up, it's just a nightmare. It's not real. Selene!" He stuck the bath salts under her nose and her eyes shot open as she gasped for breath. She looked wildly around the room and when she saw him next to her, she scrambled back. "Selene? It's me baby. Selene? Hey, it's just me. What's the matter?" But she didn't let her guard down. She looked terrified.
It took her a while to register he was actually real,that happening she spilled out her dreams to him."I'm sure Nate is messing around."She said "and he's gonna pay for what he's doing." All the pain he'd caused her,she was going to make him feel it instead.
"Oh no! Baby, it's all right. I think we better get to those marbles fast. They could help block magic dreams just being around." He said trying to comfort her. She was shivering and scared so he just cuddled her until she felt better. He was determined to get back at Nate for doing those horrible things too his girl. She told him Nate said he was ready, but he decided it could wait. No need to bring it up and scare her all over again. "It's gonna be ok" he said soothingly. "It's all gonna be ok."
She nodded and looked for a way for her to pass down. She was really tired and collapsed as soon as they hit their bedroom. Selene totes through that bht they knew it was Castiel not a straight.
