"Ready as I'll ever be."She laughed and crossed over to him. "Let's explore a big,see if we can find any clues."She told him as she gave him a peck on the lips and then with a small smirk she ran off into the woods.

He ran off after her saying, "Hey! Wait up!" She had run off ahead of him and when he finally caught up she was exploring the area.he decided to help and was looking right along with her and he started to say, "so, what do you think-" then alarm bells went off in his head. "Don't move a muscle!" He shouted just before she stepped between two trees. She froze in place in the nick of time. "There are gears in the trunks of the trees on the right and left. I can sense it. There is a weight plate in between the two, and when its triggered, the gears drop something from above."
Selene paused right where she was, not even daring to breathe. She looked at Castiel wide eyed. Any move,t she made could trigger the trap and she was still as a statue. "Is there any way to disable them?"She asked softly and quietly in case someone was around. You never knew who might be hiding where.
"Yeah I have a plan. When I say now take three steps back and then run for cover." He said as he was rummaging around in his bag, pulling out gears and bearings and then he finally held in his hand a wind up toy. He started winding up his creation and set it down ten feet from the trap. Taking a deep breath he said, "Now!"
"Bout wait, what about you_"She couldn't run without knowing he was safe but as soon as he cried now he looked at her with the eyes that made her run. She ran as fast as she could until she was a safe distance away until her foot got caught in some roots and she fell head first into a tree trunk,losing conscious.
Castiel dove for cover behind a solid log and listened intently. He hoped that Selene had made it a safe distance away before the trap sprang. All of a sudden he heard the trap spring as his toy walked onto the pressure plate. A golden net came crashing through the branches and landed on his toy. That would have ensnared anyone, and there isn't any cutting through that gold netting he thought. He rose from behind his log and looked around for Selene, but where was she? He walked about 30 yards when he pound her on the ground unconscious with a nasty cut on her forehead. "Not good, not good at all. He knelt next to her "Selene? Selene? Oh gods, please be ok. Let's get out of here." he said. He hoisted her up in a firemans carry and started towards camp hoping that he could get her to the infirmary to heal up. That's when he heard the voices, two of them behind him saying, "if this trap yields another halfblood and we can turn them, the process will be almost complete." What? What process? He decided not to stick around to find out and he slunk off to the border of camp, moving as quickly as possible.
Selene opened her eyes to creamy walls and the smell of antiseptics. She instantly wrinkled her nose. She had never liked hospitals. As her eyes adjusted to the new place she recalled what had happened and suddenly she sat up straight in the bed. "Castiel?" She called out,her heart thumping loud. She looked around to realise she was in the infirmary at camp.
As soon as he heard Selene call out, Castiel jumped up and ran into the infirmary where Selene was sitting up in bed. She seemed to relax when he walked in and he went to her, taking her hand. "Are you all right? You had me scared for a second there. That was a nasty fall you took. You had to get 5 stitches for that cut on your forehead, but the ambrosia will help that heal nicely" he said as he lifted a square of ambrosia to her lips. He was so relieved that she seemed to be ok. He had been worrying for the past hour up until she woke up. He had made it to camp and a few of the other campers had helped him get her to the big house. He then reported what had happened to Chiron and the camp councilors were convening for a meeting.
Selene instantly felt relief wash over her as she saw Castiel run into the room. "Cas.."She breathed out as she enveloped him in a tight hug, refusing to let go until she heard him laugh and joke about not being able to breathe. She looked into his eyes. Age really didn't need any painkillers because just looking at him,made her feel so much better."She took his hand and relaxed back in the bed. "Are you ok?" She asked him checking to see if he had any cuts or wounds.
Castiel laughed, "you're worried about me! Of course I'm fine! We got out of a tight spot though." He said embracing her in another hug. "I was worried when I couldn't find you but luckily, I was able to get to you and get us out of there before these two guys found us. The whole time I was worried about you and you ask if I'm ok?" He said chuckling, "you Selene, are something else" he said smiling as he looked into her eyes. "What do you remember?" He asked.
She strained to recall everything. "Well not much I just know I was running and fell...wait did you say two men?" She asked looking at him curiously. "Tell me all about it." She said as she moved to the side of the bed,allowing space for Castiel to sit.
Selene scooted over so he sat on the bed and put his arm around her. "Well i didn't see them but I heard a deeper, gravely voice say that if the trap had caught another halfblood, and they could turn them. The process would almost be complete. I don't know what it means but I hope you might have some insight on it." He said nervously, hoping that it would be an answer like, "oh sure, they mean the candy making process, they just need halfbloods to stretch the taffy!" But he was sure her answer would be a lot more sinister than taffy.
"It could be Kyle and one of his followers." She replied."we need to warn the campers to stay indoors at all times." She said as she watched a boy come in and offer her a sly smile. She knew he was from the Aphrodite cabin,just wasn't sure what his name was. He winked at her and she smiled and kissed Castiel softly letting him know she was off bounds.
Yeah I agree, wait a minute, did that guy just wink at you!" he said after she kissed him. "Man, those Aphrodite kids are always flirting." He said while throwing a if-you-touch-this-girl-ill-throw-you-on-an-anvil-and-hammer-you-flat look at the Aphrodite kid. "Haha, at least I'm the one lucky enough to call you mine." he said and gave her a peck on the cheek.
She saw him glare at the boy and she laughed and buried her face in his chest."I'm only yours,don't worry Cas."She purred lovingly as she sat there,hearing the thump of his heart beat.
Castiel grinned, "I know you are." He replied. "Are you feeling better? Well enough to report to Chiron at least?" He asked? Chiron had wanted to ask them about what they knew after the councilor meeting. He had seemed very disturbed when he had heard news of their findings.(Had a calc test)
"Yeah let's go."She smiled and got out of bed and followed him to choro she office where he sat awaiting them. She sat next to Castiel as Chiron began asking them questions about what they had seen.
(Hopefully well! Thanks :) )"Did you recognize either of the men?" Chiron asked? "Based on what I told Selene, she thought it might be Kyle." Replied Castiel. "And the trap was elaborate, only one that could be made with some pricy materials and some good craftsmanship. Something only capable by my brothers and sisters." Castiel reported heavily.
Chiron wrote all that in a notepad as he turned to Selene. "What makes you think it was Nate?" He asked."Well the way Castiel described his voice,it's pretty much Nate. I don't forget anyone's voice Chiron."She assured him.
"Interesting." Replied the centaur. "I fear you may be right. This will require a quest. And I can't think of anyone better to lead it than the one spear heading this whole thing. Do you accept Selene?" Chiron inquired. Castiel sat there silent, beaming at Selene, proud that she had been chosen for a quest. He knew she was the perfect person for the job.
She looked at Chiron. " do I get to take Castiel with me?" She asked,not wanting to be away from him even for a day.
"That is up to you child. You may take whomever you like. This is your quest." He said. "It has been some time that we have been in such danger and I fear there is a chance of failure. Danger and peril will not be scarce should you accept the task laid out for you." He said heavily. Castiel knew the danger at hand but felt he could take on anything with Selene at his side. He glanced at her hopefully.
"I'm up for it." She smiled and took Castiel's hand. "Don't worry mr Chiron,we got this."She smiled and walked out.
"That's awesome Selene!" He exclaimed, picking her up and twirling her around and setting her lightly back down. "You got your own quest! I guess now we go see the oracle right?" He had only visited the oracle once before and it hadn't been a pleasant experience. It gave him an extreme case of the heebie-jebies. Yet, he was oddly excited, itching to start an adventure with Selene. I mean, he couldn't have asked for a better questing partner!
"yes!!"She exclaimed and she started running towards the oracles cave. "This will be so much fun!"She said bursting with excitement. "We get to be together the entire quest,fighting monsters side by side!"
That comment made him smile. He really couldn't wait. "Alright let's go get this oracle think over with, this part creeps me out." He said with a nervous laugh. "Do want to go alone or may I accompany you in?" Castiel asked hoping she would allow him. He wanted to be with her every step of the journey and always be there, especially when the going got tough, because he knew it would. As they headed to the cave he started getting facial ticks and blinking, though he tried to conceal it. He could fight monsters without flinching, but asking a friendly divine being for a prophesy, nope, he couldn't help it. And off to the oracle they went.
When they reached the oracle she looked at Castiel before smiling and nodding at him as to say come in with me. Before they entered though,she turned him to her and kissed her a sweet kiss to hell his forget his nervousness,and then with a grin she disappeared inside.
He had to admit, he barely even thought about going in after she kissed him. She seemed to have that effect on him. He slipped inside after her and marveled at the cave. They had really gone all out with the oracle look in here and the cave gave off a sort of spooky vibe to him. He took her hand, more to comfort himself then her and said, "I'll bet you a tickle fight that we are gonna be confused as hades when we walk out of here with the Prophecy. That's how it was last time." He said
She smiled and walked in."you're right,that's how this thing works. It confuses the hell outta you and then expects you to figure it out in a limited time or BOOM! "Then she made a slicing notion across her neck and stuck her tongue out. "You're dead."((Sooo we don't actually need the prophecy right cause I can't make one up XD)
(Haha, actually, I wanna try my hand at it, then we can decide to use it or not. That ok?)"Oh haha, scare the already freaked out kid. Man, that's her." He said, noticing the oracle reclined on the couch. "Alright, let's get this over with. As they approached, the oracle turned her head, eyes glowing green and a green mist billowing out around her. He could tell there was a powerful presence in their company. The girls mouth moved and said...

((I like it!! Lets use it!!))Selene looked at castiel. "Well..wanna take a go at cracking this riddle?" She asked as she thanked the oracle for the prophecy and walked out.
"Well, it think the first part refers to us. I know that my bond with you will never be broken by anything and I think it means that we have to rely on each other to keep us alive." Mused Castiel. As he studied the second stanza he started to scratch his head. "Hmmmm and it looks like we're headed to Los Angeles. The city of angels right? And it looks like we'll find out more about Nate's betrayal. But the rest I can't even guess. But if we fail we're screwed. That's what I see anyway." Summed up Castiel. What about you? What do you think?
She listened to him solve the riddle and then it was her turn to think,"ummm I'm not sure. I'm a bit confused. But maybe it refers to the army he's gathering? Maybe?"She went into full on thoughtful mode,completely oblivious to everything happening around her. She let her thoughts consume her as she shit off the outside world.
"Good point. There's so many possibilities. It hurts my head." Castiel said but stopped short when he realized Selene had her face pinched in thought. She's so cute when she thinks, her eyebrows come together and the puzzled look on her face was priceless. "Selene? Hello? Help, I'm being attacked by sharks!" He joked. This last comment caught her attention.

"What? Wait...shark? Really?" She grinned and rolled onto her back and then on top of him as they were spread out on the floor in the library. She looked down at him and then gently nipped him on the lip."however if by shark you mean me.." she smirked mischieviously.
"If it were you, I wouldn't be complaining he replied." He said returning a mischievous half smile. "Would you like to return to the cabin tonight and stock up for our journey there or stay here?" He asked, hoping he'd get to be alone with her again to continue to get to know her better. He didn't want to spend the night before the big journey alone in a bunk worrying about a bunch of details. No, he'd much rather have her in his arms in front of the fire place.
"How about we stay here." The library was almost always empty especially now that most campers were gone. The fire was also lit in the corner with giant floor cushions. She turned her attention back to him and continued the smirk. "Mhm no complaining?" She grinned. "How can I ever complain when I'm with you?" She laughed and traced patterns onto his chest as they talked,in a soothing,calming manner.
"Are you nervous to start the quest tomorrow?" Castiel asked. "I can tell you for a fact I am. I'm worried too. Chiron said there would be danger at every corner. If something happened to you, I don't know what I'd do. You're pretty much all I've got." he said, laying his head on her shoulder. "I'd never ever be able to move on or forget or anything. I think my heart would shatter." He admitted. He now looked deep into her eyes and said, "I love you." He'd never said that to anyone but his mom. But he figured since staying alive wasn't a given for them, he wanted her to know.
Her eyes welled up from all the emotions. She hugged him so close to her. "The quest will be dangerous no doubt but i promised you we'd be ok and ill try to keep that promise for as long as i can." She kissed his cheek. "I love you too Castiel. So so much."

He smiled at that answer. He knew he would do whatever it took to get them back alive. All was quiet and almost a little sad. But they were safe for now, and there was no use for crossing a bridge they hadn't yet encountered. He chuckled to himself at the thought that popped up in his head and abruptly called out, "tickle fight!" As he rolled over on top of her making her giggle and laugh. He enjoyed this very much and knew that it was something of a tradition now. He rejoiced in her fits of laughter and as it turns out, hearing her laughter was the best medicine for him as his troubles seemed a million miles away.
Selene felt the heaviness the dread in the air as she thought of how to finish it when suddenly Castiel had started tickling her. She burst out laughing and squeezed her legs to her chest,curling up into a ball. "No no no,please...stop..can't...too ticklish!" She managed in between her fits of laughter. Then attempted to scamper away from him.
She managed to slip through his arms but not for long as he playfully tackled her, bringing her down on top of him. "Haha, we landed like this when we jumped out of that bus!" He remembered from the first time he had met her. But now, no one was chasing them. They were safe and sound. Her face was only inches from his and he didn't hesitate to push a kiss onto her lips. They were so soft and smooth that it was hard for him to stop. He yawned and said, "were gonna do it. If anyone can raise a little hell, its us." Giving her a wink and one of his best mischievous smiles.
She lay down on top of him as he kissed her passionately. She smiled and kissed back just as lovingly,her hand on his chest as her heartbeat accelerated. When they finally pulled apart,she felt dizzy with all the emotions running within her. She was breathing hard as she looked into his eyes. "I love you. All of you."She smirked back mischievously. "You're right."
