R. Billing (r_billing) | 228 comments I have set up a website to promote my books and something odd has happened.

I have had nearly 750 people sign up, and they all appear to be real, not bots, including a burst of about 100 in the last couple of days. None of these ever reply or comment, but MailPoet seems to think they are really reading my newsletters.

The number of signups is much greater than the number of book sales.

Incidentally there have been three signups while I have been typing this.

So is this normal, or should I be worried? All advice gratefully received.

Nate Hoffelder (nate_hoffelder) It's not impossible, but it is unusual.

Perhaps you simply found your tribe?

Can you remove the link R? Part of the policy.

Martin Wilsey | 447 comments I get spikes of sign-ups.

Usually my books will come up on a scifi forum, or a physics forum or other science place and I get spike.

I think people appreciate that I don't spam them and just use the list to announce things. Events, new books, etc.
