Don't quite remember the beginning of the book, but it features a young woman who wants a husband.
Somehow she meets some nobleman. I think it was at some ball where men usually chose themselves a mistress. And she sneaked in there with the help of her friend (who is a courtesan maybe?).
That man she met is surprised to see her there, but she tells him that she is there to learn how to seduce someone so she could find a husband.
He agrees to help her. He teaches her, they start a secret relationship. I don't remember the rest, I think he was resistant to his feelings toward her (don't remember why), but ultimately they fall in love and everyone is happy.

I think that book might be a part of some series, not sure.

P.S. Always thought that this book was by Judith McNaught but apparently not, as I couldn't find it.
