Quantum (quantumkatana) I'm excited to announce the start of the final voting period for our May BoM!

To vote, go to the following poll:

https://www.goodreads.com/poll/list/1...

To promote the broadest participation possible, you should vote for all of the books that you want to read. The nominee with the most votes would become the BoM. In this way, you do not need to choose a book that you think will win even though you would really rather to read another one. Instead, you can vote for both of them!

Note: The poll is anonymous.

To vote, simply write in all of the nominated books that you want to read in the write-in area of the poll.

The final voting period ends on 30 April at 11:59PM Pacific time.

Let's have a great time reading and discussing because talking about books with each other is the other half of the fun!

Quantum (quantumkatana) I just want to clarify and emphasize a few points:

1) You can vote for your own book.
2) You can vote for more than one book.

Quantum (quantumkatana) All: just a tip that you can change your write-in vote at any time before the poll closes.

On the poll page, click Change your vote.

Quantum (quantumkatana) Only 3 more days left to vote!

The final voting period ends on 30 April at 11:59PM Pacific time.

Quantum (quantumkatana) Less than 2 days left to vote!

We have quite a bit of interest in May's group read as there's a little more than double the number of votes right now than there were in total for April's.

The final voting period ends on 30 April at 11:59PM Pacific time.

P.K. Davies | 402 comments Hi Ali G. Congatulations to Tim for topping the poll; I look forward to joining the read-in.
As I am sparkling new I may have missed something in the instructions. I noticed one could vote for more than one book, and naturally I voted for mine as well as for Tims. But then I thought the winner would be the one with the most votes overall, not withstanding the order of selection. On that basis i make it;
The Pacifist. 5 votes
Delphian. 4
Getting Tyson. 2
Shadowland 2.
For the sake of clarity and forthcoming elections perhaps you could kindly explain why this is not right?

You are conceptually correct. Thank you for double-checking my calculations and your willingness to question the results. That's why I post the final results--for transparency.

Delphian had 3 votes at the very top--not 1 vote. ^_-

"Block system"? Do you mean the colored blocks next to each choice? It's a visual way of representing the number of votes for that choice. You can just look at the actual number of votes--that's what I do. In fact, it didn't hit me as to what the blocks represented either until you mentioned it. ^_-

P.K. Davies | 402 comments I thought the blocks represented one person voting but now I see they represent the combination of books as voted for. On my first take it looked like one person had voted three times for the same book.
I'm not sure if there isn't a better way of graphicing for idiots like me. Perhaps we should ask StatsmanPhilip to design a system?

By the by, sorry I got you mixed up with a famous rap artist for a minute; was in a rush to see a soccer match
