((Sorry! On it now.))

Lyem snorted, happy to have broken up his brother's mystique, at least for an instant. He got excited about the clay man. "Woah! Can you make him do stuff?" He poked at its belly, as if trying to figure out how it worked from a glance. He didn't even seem to mind when Waylon informed the group that some of his visitors were killers. "He's cool," Lyem oozed, extending a hand for a high five.

Akane sat alone, for the most part, shuddering as the bodies were lifted and carried away. How could those others be so happy in the face of this destruction?

Shem's gaze turned to the... thing he created and his eyes, for once, lit up with interest. "Fascinating," he mused to himself, his hand coming up to rest on his chin. He stepped a bit closer to look at Splat, leaning forward but after a moment, stepped away to pace while muttering under his breath. "Manifestations....? Manipulating... atoms... form... psychic connection? Link...projection...." were some of the muttered words that could be heard from his rambles. Shem was now definitely off in his own world of science and autonomy. It was best to leave the guy alone. He was at his most twitchy when like that, especially with dead bodies laying around. Not too many but just enough.

Lyly understood Waylon's desire to stay away from Shem. It was a correct instinct to have since she knew her big brother wasn't a very nice person to anyone else. It made her feel special.
Just as all the siblings were, she was fascinated with Splat. It was different from the humans she saw and looked oddly cute. She giggled as she moved closer to get a peek at it. "He is," she praised looking at Waylon with a bright grin. It made her look insanely cute and childlike- as she should be.

Benny Boot (bennyboot) | 430 comments He nodded at Lyem. "yeah he can do stuff watch this." He made the clay man bend down and Waylon whispered something at him and Splat nodded. He began to walk, kinda of like he was in a claymation film, sort of wonky and bent until he reached Akane. He then picked the man up his smile still plastered on his face and just held her there. Waylon laughed as he watched it all and then smiled a bit wider when Lyly praised him.

Akane was having her mental breakdown quietly in the corner when the giant golem approached. She looked up, shocked, as the rubbery clay man scooped her up and pinner her to its chest. She gave a rather unmanly squeak, squirming, unsure if she should waste some force to get clear of the creature. She hadn'tbeen paying much attention to Waylon or his ability. "Put me down!" She piped, feeling thoroughly humiliated.

Lyem didn't seem to mind seeing the creature's power. "It's strong!" He oozed.

((OHHHHH okay, before I respond wanna ask a question. Waylon's power. If Shem was to bend Waylon's interpretation of Splat visually [mentally in that case but messing with Waylon's sight with an illusion] what would happen to Splat? Confusing but I'll give an example.
Say if Shem made Waylon's perception of Splat melt [though to everyone else nothing had happened] would it melt due to that and if not what would happen?
I ask purely because Shem likes knowing how things work and he'd definitely try this out to see if he could manipulate Waylon to manipulate his ability. [Purely scientific experimentation... mostly...]))

((wonderful thank you ^^))

Lyly watched in awe, agreeing with her brother in his amazement. What they did wasn't very visual, it was all mental and kept rather interior. Though, with certain exceptions but it didn't vary much like this. It was fascinating and cool. If Lyem had friends like this maybe he wouldn't have been bullied as much as she had seen. Even if it was at Akane's displeasure.
"Bet he could lift a car!" she chirped with bright eyes. That would be so cool.
However, that stuttered, head pounding as she saw something that had her attention turning to Shem. "Don-"

She was too late to stop Shem who stood by Waylon, curious to test his theory. Thus, manipulating the boy's sight to see an illusion of Splat melting slowly until it was a pool of clay on the ground. Shem watched the actual thing to see if it would do the same as if did in his illusion. It would mean Akane would end up covered in clay but she wanted to be put down anyway.

message 58: by Benny Boot (new)

Benny Boot (bennyboot) | 430 comments Waylon felt very good about himself until he realized that Splat had turn into a puddle. He let out a very girly shriek himself and ran over, trying to kick on his power to reform the clay but it wouldn't work, and he was starting to freak out. "C-c-come on Splat, come on. Work magic powers, bring back splat." He tried taking the puddle and form the golem again, but it would just drip out of his fingers. "C-can you guys fix him?"

The earth melted around her, and she sank through the center, covered in grime. Akane was inwardly stricken, shocked and filthy. How had that happened? The poor boy was scrabbling in the clay desperately, and she shook filth from her hair. "Hey. Are you okay, kid?" She asked, feeling rather unappreciated.

Lyem sniggered at the sight, though he was usually sweet and kind. Seeing that shocked uppity girl get plastered while his brother -for surely this was his brother's work- met her demands in the most unexpected way.

Lyly was scowling at her brother. She was too late to stop him and he was being mean to really her first friend. She never got along with kids her age so it was a first for her. Maybe because she was tired but either way, it didn't matter.

Shem, on the other hand, had his hands in his pockets and a smirk on his lips as he pinned his heightened gaze to the mess on the floor. Poor Akane, she needed to get a little cleaned up. So soon after the whole bathroom incident. Fortunately, she may be able to sneak in to a private one with Lyly. They could bond, though that was unlikely with the spoiled baby that she was.
Shem strode over to Waylon, standing behind him as he bent down to watch him attempt to fix his creation before he looked back at them to ask. Shem's expression was rather blank and it took someone who really knew him to recognize a slightly sadistic look that was in his eyes. "I can," he spoke, his tone bored. He was far from that though. "Turn and face it again," he instructed, placing the illusion of Splat into the vision once more. However, this time he tweaked the design of Splat. He wanted to see if he could enhance the creature despite it not having any visual effects until it could be demonstrated.

message 61: by Benny Boot (new)

Benny Boot (bennyboot) | 430 comments He had nodded slightly and turned, watching as the creature formed back up the same it was, with its stupid drawn on smile on it's face. "I am s-sorry sir.." Waylon apologized, looking at Akane with a little frown on his face and walked over and hugged the clay golem, it still standing there, waiting for it's command from Waylon. It looked a tad off but not enough to where the boy would notice for awhile, so he was content with stepping back and walking towards Lyly, face red with embarrassment. Akane, by the way, was perfectly clean, all the goo sucked off of her like a vacuum onto Splat.

message 62: by Ilsa (new)

Ilsa (eruaistaniel) | 767 comments Mod
Akane rubbed at her flesh, feeling very violated by the goopy man. "Uh... No problem, kid," she said, uncomfortable, at the least. She wasn't one to yell at kids. What had made him lose control of his creation so easily, though? Good thing she couldn't tie it back to Shem, or he'd be getting a pretty quick slap. Lyem was pretty much already laughing to himself, chuckling at the two of them.

He went over to Way. "Hey, you're actually not half bad," he smirked, "That's a pretty awesome Golem." He offered the kid a high five. He had to admit when things got wicked cool. He stepped by Akane, because he had the perfect bad, inappropriate joke! Shem probably wouldn't like his teenage younger brother joking dirty, though, so he whispered it. "Hey, Akane! I bet the golem wants you inside it again!" he teased, making her turn a brilliant shade of shameful scarlet. It was almost piteous.

Shem stroked his chin, lost in thought as he wondered what he could do to confirm if he was able to manipulate the boy's creations like he thought he could. However, it would involve fighting and he doubted the kid would do that unless he was being attacked. Shem paused and glanced over at Waylon who stood by Lyly. What would happen if he thought Lyly was being attacked? Would that be enough for a trigger? Of course, Lyly wouldn't be attacked but it would look like that to Waylon...
It was also good he didn't overhear Lyem's little joke otherwise he probably would have given him a look. It was bad, not even a good bad. Unlikely, he would have ignored it, rolled his eyes, or snickered a bit.

Lyly was still frowning at her brother until she looked over at Waylon when he came over. She nodded in agreement with her brother, wondering if he'd return Lyem's high five. He'd better or not... she wanted to be praised. It took a lot of muscle control and influence from lack of sleep that kept her from pouting at that.
"So it's not only people?" she asked Waylon. She glanced over to see that Akane was blushing and raised a brow at Lyem confused.

It was about the time that the guards were beginning the take out those who were unconscious, having dealt with the small number of those who had died first. As one was dragged past Waylon and Lyly, Shem took the opportunity and planted the illusion. The 'unconscious' prisoner suddenly leapt up at Lyly, grabbing her with a knife to her throat and her feet entirely off the floor. Only Waylon could see it while Shem waited to see what he would do, making sure to guide Lyly away just in case.

message 64: by Benny Boot (new)

Benny Boot (bennyboot) | 430 comments Waylon did return the high five, glad that he was making some sort of friends, even if it was a little girl and her brothers. "Well, Splat is kinda a human, just a clay human." He gave her a little smile and rubbed his arm. And then the prisoner grabbed Lyly. His eyes widen with fear and he yelled. "LET GO OF HER!" He looked at Splat and the golem complied. It rushed over and..

((What is the thing Shem programmed in Splat?))

Waylon spoke, still a little shooken up. It would look like insanity from all else except Waylon, and Splat about ran over Lyly.

Akane nearly got tromped on as well, and Lyem was more confused than not, though he decided that Shem must be messing with the poor kid. Eh, he wouldn't get involved too badly in his brother's hobbies, but a gigantic golem lurching forward violently would draw attention, unless Shem had already chosen to hide the act. Ah, his brother was powerful, way more powerful than Lyem. Knowledge was one thing, and power another. "What happened?" he prompted, asking Waylon, as to try to not muddle his brother's plans too badly. He was at a loss as to what the child had actually seen.

Akane didn't feel like eating after seeing the dead, but she knew she had to anyways. While they jabbered and played their games, she got food and sat a nice distance away from them in the now-empty cafeteria.

Shem watched with a smirk, confirming the fact that he could enhance the boy's creations even if they weren't visible. In any context, he had the ability to manipulate the boy's powers. How powerful did that make him? Shem altered Splat back to how it was before and moved Lyly to where Waylon ran to. It would be too confusing to explain to the kid that he was just playing so he'd just give him the illusion that it did happen while freeing him from it.
He murmured to Lyly just to play along but she didn't look impressed at all but did what her brother requested of her. She loved him too much to really say no. She stood where she was directed and looked at Waylon. She didn't understand what really all happened but she knew Shem did something to Waylon and wasn't happy that she was almost ran over and that her friend was being used. No matter, she knew that Shem was going to leave the kid alone for now.

"Just a prisoner attacking our sister. The brat saved her from them. What a hero," Shem explained, his earlier interest lost and thus returned to his usual bored attitude. He went over to the cafe to grab some grub and sat himself down at the table Akane was at. He put his tray down then followed it. Once seated, he casually ate while keeping an eye on his siblings.

message 69: by Benny Boot (new)

Benny Boot (bennyboot) | 430 comments His whole body was shaking violently again, staring at his golem and then at Shem, as he just walked over and then just like that, the vision faded. He looked around, extremely confused, his brown hair now out of the ponytail it was and in his face. "But..they just don't.." Waylon shook his head, realizing just how tired he was. He rubbed his eyes and blinked, trying to figure out what exactly happened. Waylon then waved his hand and Splat disappeared, he wanted some time to himself with other actual humans. "A-are you okay?" He looked to Lyly, making sure her new friend was ok.

Lyem rolled his eyes. His brother was going to drive this boy up the wall. "Hey, want to eat breakfast with us?" he asked, almost speaking over Lyly, because the whole situation was just so ridiculous! Lyly hadn't even been in any danger, and the poor kid was deluded by his powerful brother. Honestly, the food here wasn't bad, and this situation... was silly.

Lyly nodded at Waylon, "never in harm's way," she responded, "not with everyone here being able to protect me," she continued, giving her brother a pointed look.
Shem only glanced over when he felt a gaze on him. He swallowed and smirked before he continued to eat.
Lyly sighed and looked at Waylon once more. She waited to see his response to Lyem's question, knowing he only really had half of her meal since his own got cold.
"Will Shem cook?!" she suddenly exclaimed, looking at Lyem with big eyes. If he was cooking something up, she would definitely eat some more. Whether it was because of her brother complex or because he could actually cook well- we will never know.

message 72: by Benny Boot (new)

Benny Boot (bennyboot) | 430 comments "Okay, he looked very mean." He sighed and calmed down enough where his body was shaking like a mexican jumping bean. He then heard the food question and his eyes light up a little. "Yeah, I didn't get much food before the big fight happened." He smiled and was beginning to walking to get a plate and then Lyly said something about home-ade cooking and that got his attention.

Lyem smirked at him and scooped food into his mouth. He was pretty quiet now, and he was allowing his brother to be mean and his sister to have this boy... friend. He was suspicious. However, he knew he wished he would have had good friends when he was her age. He turned to Lyly. "Well, probably not. He said he'd cook later." He turned to her buddy. "So, fella," he began, "Whatchya in for? Did clayface deck someone?"

Akane was enjoying, or trying to enjoy, her split pea soup in silence at the far end of the table. Of course, she couldn't get total isolation. Shem had planted his sorry ass right next to her, which she wasn't at all pleased with. She had been trying, after all, to give them their little space and to regain what little space she had. She wasn't happy at all with this new arrangement. She felt like a rag doll under a microscope. One of them was bad enough, but all three together was like a punch in the gut, and she felt that at least two of them loathed her.

Lyly pouted at that fact but nodded. It couldn't be helped but maybe she could take some of Shem's cooking to Waylon's room later in that case. If he wanted it. She didn't really know how friendships worked but she felt like sharing. Mainly because it meant she could boast to someone about her brothers. She patted Waylon to tell him it was okay to talk to Lyem. He wasn't on Shem's creep level and was a pleasant guy if you didn't cross him. She really liked her brother. He'd looked after her for so long while Shem was gone. Really, in her mind, Shem did a lot of wrongs but it was like Lyem could do no wrong in her mind. Not really.
She conveyed this to Waylon mainly because the next second she was off to get them some food. She was still hungry and needed to make up for her lack of energy with food instead of sleep-since that was impossible.

"You know, you should wipe that disgusted look off your face. It might get stuck that way," Shem said to her in between bites. It was funny how much she clearly didn't like the trio. Unusual since oddly enough, none of them actually hated her. Shem was a douche but if he hates someone [if he ever gave enough effort to give that much of a fuck about someone] he would find a way to ruin their lives to the point they commit suicide. Lyly wasn't much different. If she didn't like Adara, she wouldn't have asked Lyem to get her into their room. She just was scared that Adara would take her brothers away from her, something she didn't fear from Waylon thus why she seemed to easily open up to him.
Otherwise, Shem just continued to finish off his meal as if everything that just happened, hadn't.

Lyem escorted Waylon after his sister towards the line, and then to the table, feeling a bit more upbeat for some reason. He knew his kid sister needed all the sleep and food she could get. He was pretty sure she'd grow up to be a cute little chubby, exhausted cherub. She'd need some friends.

Akane gave Shem a sharp little glance, before diverting her attention back to her meal. "You look prettier when you smile," she said, echoing the socially unacceptable dialogue. "You should smile exclusively around me, so I don't need to see your face any other way." She didn't even care if what she was saying made any sarcastic sense. Akane just felt sort of down about life. Anyways, it wasn't like she knew their normal or angry attitudes. From what she could tell, they'd just trapped her there for their own selfish reasons and didn't want her around unless they could use her for something. Nothing they outwardly did was any invitation to join them, unless actually sitting at the same table was an indicator. Even then, she had completely saved Lyly, and they'd rewarded her by melting a giant slime monster on her for laughs.

In short, she was being a little brooding.

message 76: by Benny Boot (new)

Benny Boot (bennyboot) | 430 comments Waylon was a little worried when he was asked why he was here, but he couldn't think of a good lie to tell so he just told the truth. "My bad friends, the shades, one of them got out, and uh, killed a lot of peolpe. I was left alone. But they figured out the shade was my friend. So I had to go the big prison until I am a adult." He spoke quietly and did willingly followed Lyly to get more food. Not much, just some pieces of toast and some jelly. After he sat down, Waylon just watched the wall, kinda bugged out by the two brothers. Lyly was nice, but the both of her elder siblings made him feel like that he wasn't wanted.

Lyly got a little more food, mainly gathering things with protein. It would give her more energy since her insomnia was taking away half of that. She sat down with Waylon and her brothers as well as Akane. Lyly realized then that she had to be a little more careful. Not everyone knew Akane was a female and they had to keep it that way if everything was to go well. She began to eat, looking at everyone at her table, but sat close to Shem, in between him and Waylon.

Shem scoffed, "you've never seen me smile... have I ever smiled?" he mused to himself, though his disinterest was clear in his tone. He glanced over when the others joined them but continued to eat until he finished. Leaning back, he licked his lips and hummed to himself. "Do we know why the fight started?" he asked. It felt suspicious to him. It happened right when his sister was alone. She only could tell a few moments before and anything that had his sister in trouble had him on edge.
Maybe he was just looking too deep into it.

Lyem just ate whatever was in front of him, with obviously more interest than his companions. This was amazing! The rumors were true; getting into Nanba was rewarded with delicacies to the taste buds. He was skipping out on the conversation, obvious awe on his face. He, too, had been forced to eat his own cooking while Shem was gone, after all.

Akane listlessly finished the meal. He had looked moderately shocked and pleased to see his younger siblings, but she couldn't quite remember if he'd smiled, even for or at them. That was weird in itself. People were supposed to smile from time to time. His siblings smiled. She wondered if they'd loose their grins when they grew up. Perhaps she was brooding too much, but she did not like Shem, nor did she like being put into a situation where her only purpose was to be there, not befriend any of them. None of them actually wanted her there or liked her. They just felt they could use her somehow. Accordingly, she took her utensils and returned them, thinking that she might try to get cleared to go run at building five. It wasn't an assigned day for that, but she wanted to get away from them all.

Shem noticed how she contemplated the little fact he pointed out. Sure he smirked from time to time but that was nearly about it. Life was boring and his facial muscles only stretched so far in order to make it appear that he was smiling at any given chance that he may. At the most, it would be a crooked grin that would look more sinister or mischievous or simply mocking than happy.
Anyway, Shem and Lyly both ate rather quickly. Finishing up their food much faster than really necessary. Well, Shem was paced but by the time Lyly had finished eating, Shem, who stared before her, had also finished.

However, since their initial purpose for coming to the cafeteria was to eat and they had accomplished that goal, Shem stood up, taking Lyly's tray to put it away. He could handle responsibility if that wasn't obvious enough.

Lyly by that time, her eyes were fluttering. It was getting harder for her to keep her eyes open. She was also yawning, her head jerking as she was slowly dozing off before her head began to descend causing her to jerk awake. When Shem returned, his gaze went to Lyly and he glanced at Lyem. "I'll take her back to the room," he told him before he scooped their little sister up and headed out of the cafeteria.

Akane had been struggling to find some sort of excuse to justify abandoning the group. However, she was pleasantly surprised when Shem scooped Lyly up and headed off on his own, leaving her alone with Lyem... who although he made inappropriate jokes, might just have been the most normal of the bunch. He was eating rather slowly, the last to finish, and even went back for seconds. She considered ditching him for a second, but... he was just a kid, after all. She'd quietly stand in as babysitter.

He returned, spooning more... whatever that was, into his mouth. "Y'know," he began, "Nunofus acxtually hait you," he wheezed, around a mouthful of steaming goop. He swallowed fast, then repeated himself. "We don't actually hate you." He put down his spoon, making an executive decision to halt momentarily to let his meal cool. "We're just naturally self-isolating assholes, especially my brother." He smirked, remembering being covered in blood. Yes... he was a different kind of person, even if he didn't look it. Even if nothing had ever been brought up in court about his violent nature.

She still seemed annoyed, but he held up a hand, signalling he wasn't done. "We don't pretend to like people or not. We only like people who like us for the weird, manipulative freaks of nature that we are." He shrugged. "So, if you plan on having a less miserable time, maybe just pretend that two kids didn't just upend your wonderful prison sentence with a bunch of male criminals by actually wanting you around their family."

Well, when he phrased it like that, she felt kind of vindictive and hateful. She bent her head, thinking.

"I mean, getting you to keep Shem from... well, from what he does... that's just a pro." His confident, usually bold voice seemed unusually small. Sometimes, he felt like the parent, like he had to protect and raise Lyly and be the emotional support for Shem, helping him out all the time. Maybe... getting some help would be enough. He alone wasn't enough. Even if he tried with all his might, he'd never have the impact that Lyly had seen this girl having. "Please," he whispered, "Just pretend, even if you don't, that maybe you like being around us." Shockingly, he felt tears in his eyes, but he blinked them back, forced a smile, and rammed another piping hot mouthful of... whatever... into his mouth. The pain from the blazing food actually made him cry... or, that was his story.
