The first part of the story showed Mickey working the court system and his clients. Was this helpful at all? If so, in what way? If not, where did it leave you?

Robin (robinmy) | 1214 comments At first I thought the author was just introducing us to Mickey and his defense technique. I thought there was a little too much information on these little cases and it was taking time away from the main story. But, it turns out that many of the other cases played into the main story, so it all worked out.

Lauren (laurenjberman) | 2240 comments I agree. There was a lot of back on forth between the client, the court, the jail. It was too much and the intertwining of the various cases could have been incorporated better into the ongoing story development.

Just when it was starting to feel tedious, it took a turn and I began to figure out that it was all relevant. I actually like when a story creeps up on me like that. The danger is, though, especially when you're listening to the story, my mind might wander and I'll miss something. In fact, I think I did a little bit.

Yes. That happened to me too.
