people are not words
that can be spoken.
they have no definitions
and cannot be found
flipping through the pages
of a tattered dictionary
on a warm winter evening.

people are not poetry
that can be written.
their blood is not meant
to be spilt
like ink on charred paper.

people are not thoughts
that slide through minds.
they are dreamers
who have been
forced into this dark world
by reality itself.
