Darren Scott Derrickson (Dr. Strange) set to direct the pilot. I hope this time it gets picked up!

Dan | 7 comments Got my fingers crossed for this! The comics are off-the-charts good, and I'd love to see a solid adaptation bring this story to a wider audience.

Soo (silverlyn) | 94 comments I'm almost done with the audiobook now and it's great! It would make a great TV series.

They make audiobooks of comics? I did not know that.

John (Nevets) Nevets (nevets) | 1903 comments I knew these folks http://www.graphicaudio.net/ had done some, but I thought it was mostly really big events. I didn't realize that they had done Locke & Key either. I wonder if it was the fact that he was a novel writer as well that convinced them. Apparently Audible did it in-house.

I see they credited the artist Gabriel Rodriguez along with Joe Hill as an author/ creator on the audio book as well. That is really cool, and a good way of doing it. Often times it seems that the artists are overlooked when it comes to story, and yet they are so involved with telling it. I'm not saying always, but it is such a collaborative relationship typically, they deserve more acknowledgment.

*edited to add last paragraph.

Soo (silverlyn) | 94 comments Locke & Key by Joe Hill - It's one of Audible's Originals. I didn't think I would be a fan of audiobooks but it all depends on the story and narrator/s. Audible did a great job on the performance for Locke & Key. It's really good! Finished it today.

Darren I'll have to check that out. Did Hill write a script for it? I can't imagine it's just transcriptions of the comic books.

Soo (silverlyn) | 94 comments I believe so. It just says written by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez. Huge cast for the performance and sound effects, etc. After I finished the audiobook, I went to read some reviews. I have not read the comics because the art style doesn't appeal to me but I had no trouble keeping up with the story. I really enjoyed it! One of my favorite thus far.
