Not sure if this buddy read is going ahead since no one has commented yet but I'm just gonna assume everyone hasn't gotten round to writing anything yet and I'll start.
Part 1 - Simon Says: (view spoiler)[I have mixed feelings about Simon. Everyone seems to hate him and get he probably ruined a few relationships but I don't hate him.
When the book arrived and my brother asked what it was, I said it was like if the Breakfast Club was a murder mystery. I can now realise how wrong I was. I was expecting most of the book to take place in detention. Instead, barely any of it has. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I think it would have been cool to have it focused on detention but I'm enjoying the story regardless.
I don't like Cooper, sorry. I have a distinct feeling he's cheating on Keely and there's a possibility he's been cheating at baseball too.
I don't much like Addy's ex-boyfriend Jake either but I still quite like Addy for some reason. I'm glad Addy told him what happened but it's all such a mess.
Bronwyn and Nate are the two I can say I definitely like.
I'm not going to lie, I don't have a theory on who killed Simon yet. I don't think it was Nate, though. (hide spoiler)]

Part 2 - Hide-and-Seek: (view spoiler)[I love that Nate apologised for stealing the baby Jesus. It's a bit of an odd thing to do but I'm happy about it.
The way Cooper treated Addy at lunch after Jake punched TJ makes me rethink my dislike of him. I think I might like him. We'll see.
Also, I definitely don't like Simon. Exposing people for cheating is one thing but the thing with Aiden Wu was gross as hell. There's nothing wrong with cross dressing and it's nobody's business. Aiden didn't deserve that.
Also also, I got some definite gay vibes from Cooper and spent the whole part going 'this will be more interesting if Kris is a guy'. And then bam! Kris is a guy. My friends and I love a bit of lgbt+ representation so I was texting one of them about my hypothesis and then about how it came true.
I think what I like about these characters is the fact that they are, annoying, very flawed. They've done 'bad' things and it's easy to label people as black and white but they're not. They're grey. And I like that. I like that you can see the motivations behind their actions, I like that they're not perfect, I like that they're fickle to human emotion. I like that they feel real, like I could know one of them, see them at school. And I like that I understand them so much more than I might in real life. I've always been intrigued by the idea that other people are equally as complex as me. It's so interesting. Everyone has their pushes and pulls, even the villains. I still have no idea who killed Simon, though.

Part 3 - Truth or Dare: (view spoiler)[I needed a little while to process what happened but I feel ready now to write this final part.
This was such a good book! I really enjoyed it.
Reading the last part, I almost forgot that it was likely one of the four killed Simon but I found it at the front of my mind for this part. I couldn't imagine any of these characters that I'd grown so invested in ever being able to commit murder like that. Part of me is very much relieved that none of them did it but there is a tiny part of me that thinks it would have been more harrowing and interesting if one of them did.
I give the author major props on managing to write such an engaging story. The plotline was super original as far as I've seen and I definitely had no idea who was behind Simon's death until the end. There were multiple times with new developments that I shoved my head into my duvet and mumbled 'what the hell' over and over.
I enjoyed the writing style as well and I just loved the characters and the relationships. Bronwyn and Nate's relationship was so cute, although I did find the end and the epilogue a little... pointless. I loved Cooper and Kris and I love love loved the acknowledgement of homophobia in sport. I loved all the friendships too and the unlikely pairings.
I decided this part even further that I didn't like Simon but I do recognise him as a very complex person and character. Luckily, that doesn't mean I have to like him.
I kind of wish Jake had had more character depth and development since he was so heavily involved with the end result. I do understand, though.
I definitely liked this book and would recommend it to any fans of this genre and possibly a few others too. (hide spoiler)]

I seriously hate guys like Jake that they assume they have the right to control you and tell you want to wear and want to do, fuck you, honestly. Even when TJ appears so little I already like him I hope I can see more of him in the next chapters.

Nate and Bronwyn are so cute to be honest. And Bronwyn reminds me so much to Amy Santiago (Brooklyn 99's character).

Cooper seems a little odd, I wanna know more about him I think he shows more upside than inside so I wanna really know how he is and his secret -that to be honest it seems to be another-.

I seriously hate how everyone treats Nate but it doesn't surprise me, in real life is that way too. (hide spoiler)]

I ship so much TJ with Abby too, he truly sees her and finally she STAND UP AND FIGHT! I can't stand Jake, not reading about him is fresh air.

I knew Cooper has a real secret! He is gay, omgggg <3333. I hope all this doesn't screw up anything and I truly hope these four are innocents.

I love the way all relationship are being bound even with their own families (Like Abby and Ashton). This book is really awesome. (hide spoiler)]

I love more Addy because she wants to find herself <3. I love all the couples and Cooper with Kris omggggggggggggggg <333. I hated how stupid was Nate with Bronwyn, ugh, but I'm glad they all have their happy end and even more that they still are friends after everything.

This book was amazing some amazing boundaries and amazing characters and the plot omg I just loved it so much. I don't know why I took so long to read this book. I can't wait for her new one. I'm so glad I didn't find out the whole plot and still surprised me in so many ways. (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 10
(view spoiler)[So far I am really enjoying the book! I am listening to the Audiobook and I really like the narrator, makes it really easy to binge listen. I am going to finish this with my buddy in three days, finished the first 10 chapters according to schedule today! (:

Who I think did it? I really have no clue yet. None at all. Which is weird because I always have lots of theorys. These kind of books always make me think maybe the person itself (Simon) had a hand in his own death, but that is probably very untrue. :')

I feel kinda sad for Simon, being hated by almost everyone. On the other hand, I don't like the blog he was keeping up. You can't just go around sharing everyone's secrets and ruining lifes and pretending that is okay. I mean, I believe you should snitch on someone when they do something truly bad. But go to teachers, authorities, parents etc. Not just share it for the whole school to read, that is just horrible.

Also, i'm just really curious how this 'pinda oil' stuff got into his cup without anyone noticing. (Only reason I thought maybe he had a hand in his own death. Maybe he wanted to scare them but someone figured it out and punished him by taking all the pens away? And instead of just scaring them by a severe allergic reaction he actually died? Stupid theory. I know, I always have those!)

I do really like Bronwyn and Nate, I kinda like how they got closed over this tragedy. I feel like they never would have found each other if this did not happen, and I think they are totally gonna fall in love. I just hope the killer isn't one of them because I truly like both of them. But I also feel truly sorry for Nate, growing up with such a father. Must be really difficult. :( (hide spoiler)]

Chapter 20
(view spoiler)[ I finished another 10 chapters and we learn a lot more about the 4 'suspects' and their family.

Turns out they all have things to hide, I already felt like Cooper might have a different sexual orientation. Which turns out to be true, he has a boyfriend, Kris. I find it so sad he is too afraid to tell his dad he likes guys, his dad is portayed as a person that hates people that identify as gay. :(

Another thing that was big in this part is that Nate his mom returns. Finally being sober and in rehab. I feel so much for Nate, I mean, she is your mom and you want her in your life. But how can you let her back in your life after leaving everytime you did? How can you trust her again. She does finally have a job and has been sober for I thought 3 months. She really needs to prove herself, I also hope she doesn't have underlying motive for coming back...

I still don't know who to suspect. I think the car accident was really convenient and makes it possible for someone outside of the room to have done it. But the people in the room still had the biggest oppertunity. I just feel for them all, so I really hope they all did not do it... I hope it's not the sister that was made fun of on the blog or something... (hide spoiler)]

I am happy the truth got out in the end, but Jake is really not okay in his head. I understand he is mad, but this is not what you do when you are mad. This is crazy, really really crazy. You dont frame your (ex)girlfriend for murder and just be fine with that.

I got really scared that Nate would leave Bronwyn forever, like I get they have different lifes but that doesn't mean anything. He does deserve her, he does deserve a cute girl and to be happy. They were so cute together and deserved a real chance, which they luckily get in the end. (Also really happy Nate's parents are trying to better themselves).

I am going to rate this four stars out of five.

I'm late to the Buddy Read, but I read this book Tuesday. I had the day off from work, plus three hours at a dance studio waiting on my daughter, so was able to read it in one day. (view spoiler)[Like you Eva, I went back and forth on Simon actually having a hand in it. Then, I thought maybe it was Bronwyn's sister, Maeve. I like how it ended though, especially for Bronwyn and Nate! I rated it a 4 out of 5 as well. There is a sequel (though from what I read about it, may technically be more of a spin off) that is supposed to come out in the spring of 2020. (hide spoiler)]
