That said, sometimes I love a book so much that all the rules go out the door and I carry it around like Christopher Robin did Winnie the Pooh. I don't stop until I finish. Those books are my favorites! The ones I recommend to others and read again!

Does anyone ever worry they read too much instead of doing other things?

Recommend! Recommend! Please :)

I do sometimes worry I read too much instead of doing other things...like my Masters work...or developing other hobbies. :)
Whoops.

Recent read recommendations: "Death by Toilet Paper" by Donna Gephart and "Big Little Lies" by Liane Moriarty
Recommendation that not many people have read: "Mrs. Stevens Hears the Mermaids Singing" by May Sarton
Zaniest book that I love to recommend and re-read: "Night of the Avenging Blowfish: A Novel of Covert Operations, Love and Lunch Meat" by John Welter
Have fun, LeShawn

My goal is to read 50 books a year. I usually fall short of the goal and this year I am way behind. How fast I read depends on the book. If it's something I really look forward to reading and get caught up in the story, I find that I read much faster. If the book is something that is chosen by others, such as books for a discussion group, I generally read it at a slower rate. It usually takes me from a few days to a week to read an average length novel, even if the book is awesome. Then I don't want it to end!

I have a toddler, so I don't typically get to have all the reading time I use to (and I don't count reading her books to her as me reading books, or I've read about 1000 books this year. Lol), but I make reading a priority for my mental well being.

and my favorite reading spot is either my bed or the couch :)

But sometimes I fall into a reading slump where I don't read for weeks or I get these random bursts of motivation where I finish a book in one sitting.
