SOLVED: Adult Fiction > SOLVED. SciFi/Fantasy. Two perspectives, i think. Main character is dragon/alligator humanoid. Stands on two feet like a person. [s]

Martin | 29 comments I think I read this in 2015 or 2016. I think it was published that same year. Its aimed at either YA or NA, since there was some gore. As I recall, the alligator humanoid was found by a caravan of nomads as a baby (It had been caught and separated from its family by people who wanted it for fighting) and raised as a family member. In this world, there are two races. Humans and the alligator humanoids. Each race mostly keep to themselves although humans enslave the humanoids to fight. Most of the caravan was reluctant to accept him but they had to because the head of the caravan told them to. Eventually, he saved a baby from a cheetah or leopard type of animal and he was completely accepted. Flash forward and humanoid is all grown up and then the whole caravan is killed (dont remember why). He blames himself because he was away when it happened and he sets out to avenge them(the story somewhat reminds me of daredevil story from Netflix in that he is alone and fighting a syndicate). The organization (sort of like an underground mob. works from the shadows and controls the city) tries to kill him but he ends up destroying their whole operation and surviving. Towards the end he is somewhat jaded as a character and doesn't mind death at all. I think the story is either sci fi or fantasy. And i cant remember if i read it as an e book or a physical book.
I'm hoping someone can recognize this book. Can't tell you how many useless searches i've gotten from searching "lizard man monster hero book". Anyway, thank you for reading and/or responding.

Sue Blaikie | 161 comments The beginning of your book sounds like Child of the Daystar by Bryce O' Connor.

The blurb here isn't very informative unfortunately but some of the reviews have more details.
I don't remember enough of the rest of the story to say for sure that it is your book however, but it does sound pretty familiar.
