hi sorry it's based in America I believe it's a small town where everyone knows each other and the heroine is human but the friend she is staying with is a shifter.
I know I read this, but can't remember which book it is! I've only read bear shifter books by T.S Joyce, Celia Kyle, and Georgette St. Clair.

I read a book or two of a series where the male characters were grizzly bear shifters, supposedly very rare. They lived in a farm house they had made "disappear" for everyone but those friendly to them, and the females they married didn't know they were also grizzly shifters until they met these men. Wish I could remember the name of the book(s) or author. You might be interested in the series, too.
