Mac K There was so much left to be wondered about at the end of the series! I always wonder what happened after!

Katherine Hainer I know! In a way I like it, because that way we can sort of decide our own ending, but there are times when I do wish she had finished it!

Very true, I just reread it again and upon reflecting, I was able to make peace with the open ending. I still wish she had finished it but, I have been able to accept it. Great series, absolutely loved it.

message 4: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K I totally agree. I always wonder how Gregor and his family did after and if he ever came back to revisit the underland!

message 5: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K I know! Its too much to wonder about!!!! It kills! What about Mareth and Howard and did the underland make peace!? It should require another book! And of course what about Luxa and Gregor!

message 6: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K They were so perfect together but than she took them apart and left us wondering! WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO US!!!

message 7: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Totally! I can't believe it isn't more popular! It is a new idea with interesting twists and complex characters. It is so good, but I feel like so few people have read it. And I know people would enjoy it, but don't know it exists!

message 8: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K I totally agree. It is definitely a book a kid can read without feeling like the author is holding back on them. I think that is one of the reasons it is so good. And the unique plot paired with this really allows it to be a book that you just cant stop reading. Another thing about it is how Gregor develops throughout the series. Not wanting to pick up sandwiches sword to almost never letting it go to destroying it. You almost feel like you watch him grow wiser.

message 9: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Totally agree. You hit it right on the head. It's just an incredible series. I especially like the creativity of the giant animals and the names for themas well!

message 10: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Couldn't agree more. That is the truth. So many people would love this book! It's so good! The ups and Downs are just like you said! It's a rollercoaster ride.

message 11: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K So true! I just cannot express how much I love the series. Liked it when I was younger, still enjoy it now like you said. For sure!

message 12: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Same, it is so nice to talk to another fan! It seems like most I know haven't even heard of the series.

message 13: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Omg I literally could not get over ares. How he was banished and only had Gregor. "I need to get close" it was so sad. I emotionally suffered at the hands of a paperback.

message 14: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Well, he wasn't really but no one ever talked to him. He was basically an outcast that no one really wanted to acknowledge until later in the series. And the picture is so true.

message 15: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Yep. I had to take a moment to process when that happened.

message 16: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K It was so sad! Like I thought for sure he was gonna come back some how! And then when boots gave Gregor the little plastic black bat figurine it was like OMG!

message 17: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K I was just barely holding it together and then ares. Like, are you kidding! I've lost enough! GIVE HIM BACK!!!!

message 18: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K I know! But it gets you involved in the series. Every death was like, WAIT, PLEASE NO, PLEASE, YOU DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT YOURE DOING! NOOOOOOOOO

message 19: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Totally! Man, one of the problems about nobody knowing about this series is that because no one knows it, it's basically impossible to do an RP with anyone. Also, how about when we didn't know if temp was ok. Because boots made it but then temp was stuck in the dead land and I was like she better not kill him!

message 20: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K True that! It awesome! If she came back with another book, I would thank the heavens every day for bestowing such a gift upon us.

message 21: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K True. This is the problem when you like a series so much that it's unacceptable that its over.

message 22: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Totally! But I just think that if she did one when Gregor was 20 or something and he went back for some reason, that it would be soooooooooo cool.

message 23: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Omg yeah! Totally. Hazard would be awesome. It could follow him as a regal Ian scout, trying to explore more of the underland and map it. (He can't be a warrior)
It could follow him on adventures to find new things and places not known by the underland and such. That would be cool.

message 24: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Regalian*

message 25: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Warrior)

Goodness, can't type today.

message 26: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Oooooo, good question. I'd assume so because she'd probably be embarrassed by the baby name. Oh, do you think she'd be grossed out by the crawlers when she's older or would she still have no fear of them?

message 27: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K That would be terrible! Ohhhhhh myyyyyyyy whyyyyyyy. But maybe she'd be like wait, I know you or something. Also, I think the crawlers can live up to a century, that's what I think anyway. But if boots was like freaked out, I'd totally be going, noooooooooo the poor crawlers!!!!!!

message 28: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Yes! Those are the ages I was thinking! Totally! There are too many options to think of. *sobs along with you* how will I ever get closure!!!!

message 29: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K No closure at all. She left sooooo much up in the blue! One of the things that really pains me is that Gregor and Luxa never got the chance to be with each other. That was one of the things that stuck with me the most.

message 30: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K RIGHT! This was me. *flips to last page. Reads it. Furiously looks at the rest of the book looking for the actual ending. Can find it. Hops online looking for another book to the series can't find any.* WHAT! THIS IS WHAT YOU LEAVE ME WITH? YOU TOTALLY SET THEM UP SINCE THE PROPHECY OF BANE AND YOU WONT EVEN LET THEM BE TOGETHER? NOOOOOOOOOOO. I totally thought that there was like, another book but when I realized there wasn't, I just could not handle it. Pretty sure I went into denial.😂

message 31: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Totally! Man, that was so rough. I read a series recently that was kinda like this. It did a really good job of summing everything up and it gave a good sense of closure, but also totally left the door open for follow up books. It's a series named Beyonders by Brandon Mull. When I finished I was like, man another book could totally be made from this one and it reminded me of the underland series.

message 32: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K OMG THATS SO TRUE! HOLY CRAP YOU HAVE THE BEST TASTE IN BOOKS EVER!!!! Those are literally two of my favorite series, next to Percy Jackson and Micheal Vey. Oh my gosh you are totally right, the entire series it was like, are they gonna get together and then it broke our hearts at the end! OMG!

message 33: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K What! We have the same name! Cool! Also, do you mean five kingdoms by Brandon Mull? Because I have the first book of that series on my bookshelf right now because I just go it and I need to finish reading a book I'm on right now before. Start that one! And I totally agree with everything you just said about the setting and such. But I totally think you will like Micheal Vey. It's sooooo good.

message 34: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Oh No!!!!! I hate it when that happens. This Easter I got super lucky and got a $50 Barnes and Noble gift card (it is by far my favorite store!) and got a whole bunch of books, one of them being the five kingdoms first book! I was sooooooo happy. My family just looked at me kinda funny as I obsessed over which books to get.😂

message 35: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Nice! Amazon is awesome. If you don't know what to get someone as a gift. Literally, amazon has EVERYTHING. Just get em an amazon gift card. It's soooooooo cool. You can even buy live chickens on there!

message 36: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K You have eight live chickens!? That's awesome! What's the seven wonders? I've not heard of it.

message 37: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K That's so cool! It's so nice to meet someone with the same tastes in books as you. And with the same name for that matter.😂 ok, one thing I remember from the end of the underland chronicles is they never actually moved to Virginia. Because after they got back Litzy told their mom and dad she didn't want to move. What if she planned to write another book but just got caught up in other things and then the Hunger Games and just never got back to it?

message 38: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K If only there was a way to write to Suzanne and be like, pleeeeeeaaaaassssseeeee. Maybe beg a little too.

message 39: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Suzanne, I will find you and I will beg you to write another book.😂😂 this is what happens when you get a little too attached to a series, but I'd have it no other way.

message 40: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Same. I really do wish there was a way to contact her. Eh well I guess. I'll never stop wishing for another though.

message 41: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Yeah, but sometimes it's better off for a movie not to be made, the books are always better. Harry Potter movies were good though, I liked them. Hunger games movie was pretty mediocre I thought.

message 42: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K True that. It's best left to our imagination. If you could choose to turn a book into a movie, which one would you pick?

message 43: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Oooooooo, yeah I see what you mean with pathfinder. After a while the POV switching got kinda annoying for me, but I still liked it. I forgot about that book! I don't even think I have it marked as read!

message 44: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Yeah, I definitely see how it was annoying. Have you read happenstance found?

message 45: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K It's pretty good. A unique plot line for sure with some very interesting characters. I just read it recently and liked it a lot. It would do ok as a movie I think though!

message 46: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K I've never read cloak society, do you recommend it?

message 47: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K The title is Happenstance found (books of Umber #1)

message 48: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Cool, I'll check it out!

message 49: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K Thanks!

message 50: by Mac (new) - rated it 5 stars

Mac K *wild applause*
