coding trainer ───── MIGUEL RODRÍGUEZ ───── twenty-nine
Miguel never claimed to be smarter than everyone else. He isn't, either, because let's face it, there's a reason why he didn't get the head coder position. His code may be good, but it's also sloppy and unlabelled, so anyone else trying to read it has to put a lot of effort into understanding it. Sure, he may have a photographic memory, and he may be fluent in more programming languages than most people can name (ok, to be fair most people get to HTML and Python and then struggle, maybe get Java or JavaScript if they're particularly intelligent). But that doesn't overcome the fact that most of the time, he's imported a bunch of functions nobody even knew about, or done stuff in a more efficient but improper fashion.
You'd think he'd be more liked, but apparently people who make Star Wars and comic book references aren't the sort of people that are likeable. Or at least, that's what you'd take away if you met him. But no matter how hard he tries, people just don't appreciate nerdy pop culture references, no matter how clever.
And naturally, there's all the elitists who look down on him for using Stack Overflow even though no one programmer knows all the code in any given language (unless they're a freak, but he has an eidetic memory and doesn't know everything, so they'd have to be a very freaky freak).he hacked a game and recoded it so it wouldn't lag on his crappy internet when he was twelve. when he was fifteen, he hacked the police records and had his father listed as an abusive parent because he couldn't get to the phone to report him. illegal? yes. immoral? not really.Miguel was one of those rare kids born by cesarian in an era where most people didn't die during childbirth — unless you were in a small, decrepit hospital in the rainforested part of Colombia. Inevitably, his mother's c-section wasn't as neat as it should have been, and the result was that she bled to death. His father blames him, even though as a two-minute-old baby Miguel had absolutely no control over anything, besides which it was really the doctor's fault for claiming to be a qualified professional when he wasn't.
Being the smart kid at a dodgy school, it was natural that he would instantly become a target of bullying. Miguel learned to defend himself fairly quickly — both from his father and from the bullies. Not that it mattered, because at the end of the day, only one student from his school ended up going to university — Miguel, who was offered scholarships to Harvard, Yale, and surprisingly enough also Cambridge, although he went to none of those. Instead, he attended MIT and attained a Bachelor of Information Technology (Computer Science), passing with honours.
He was approached by Steel Heart not long after he graduated, and was offered a position there, which he accepted. Now that he's here, things aren't quite how he expected them to be, but at least he's surrounded by like-minded people who actually give a damn about his existence (ok, maybe that's up for debate, but the rest still stands).

It's rare to see Sione without a smile on his face — the longest he's stayed serious for was two days when his grandfather died, and often when he's trying to be mature or serious he'll burst out laughing. He's got a reputation for being a good person to hang around — particularly since he doesn't get annoyed when people think he's white or American (or both).
Sione has a thick skin, developed over years of being called a pākehā by the Māori kids at his school. He once tried to explain why they were wrong, but one of the guys just bashed his face in the dirt until he stopped trying to talk. When people insult him — call him stupid or a pākehā, or any other offensive term — he just shrugs it off. It's not as though it's true (ok, pākehā kind of, because his mum's white, but the rest? nope).
He may look stupid, but Sione is far from it. Ask him anything about his country's history and he can probably tell you about it (especially the Waitangi Treaty). Ask him to code a program in most coding languages, and he can probably do it — though it'll be best in HTML or Python.no, he didn't hack the pentagon. nah, he hacked the schools internet and removed the filtering systems. in twelve seconds.Sione was born and raised in Paihia, New Zealand. Throughout primary and middle school, he got into countless fights with kids that called him a white boy. When he was fifteen, he and his family moved to Sydney, Australia, and he continued with his illicit hacking of school networks in order to access YouTube and social media. He graduated from James Ruse Agricultural High School with an ATAR of 99.95 and returned to New Zealand to begin a degree in civil engineering at Victoria University.
then, when they moved to australia, he did it to the nsw public schools firewall so he could watch youtube. and he didn't get caught either time.
Three days into his degree, Sione was approached by one of the Steel Heart scouts. They were impressed with the fact that he'd been offered substantial scholarships to all of the top ten universities in Australia, along with a few prestigious international ones. He was initially inclined to ignore the offer, preferring to make the most of the several thousand dollars he'd spent to enrol in the course, but after they explained what the Steel Heart Project was doing, he was utterly won over.
He finished training after eleven months, and is now a fully-fledged member of the coding division.
