Kristin (savannahjan) | 62 comments So, there is a TV mockumentary sitcom right now called Trial and Error starring John Lithgow.

His character is outside of the house when he comes in and finds his wife dead in a pool of her own blood, seemingly having fallen through a plate glass window. Coincidentally, his first wife had also died that way.....

Sound familiar to anyone?

Apparently, the True Crime story most have come to know as The Staircase is "in the DNA" of this mockumentary. The story of the author who was accused and initially convicted of pushing his wife down the stairs.

I was sad that my family wasn't seeing it since they aren't True Crime addicts! I was emphatically saying, "That's like the staircase! That too!" So I Googled it, and sure enough, I was right.

We've only watched one episode so far, but it was hilarious. If you're looking for a sitcom loosely based on a rather well-known True Crime story.

Fishface | 18915 comments That does sound good. It not only sounds like the staircase guy, but like Drew Peterson, Barbara Stager, Henri Landru, Betty Lou Beets, Herman Drenth, Tillie Klimek, George Joseph Smith and Anjette Lyles...for starters!

Shelley | 1225 comments I will try and catch this one. It looks good. They will be covering a different case each season. I like that idea.

Terri (terrilovescrows) | 292 comments This show is hysterical. I love it. When his lawyer was trying to make him more relatable, he asked him to put a sports jersey on and he comes out in an OJ Simpson jersey. They really riff on everything.

Kristin (savannahjan) | 62 comments I'd say a little more intelligent/high brow than the Scary Movie franchise. But that idea, yes.
