Phil | 195 comments Looking for the title of a novel (most likely written in the '80s) concerning a group of individuals who seize a weapons storage area in the U.S. midwest. If I'm not mistaken, the cover (at least the paperback one) featured a Pershing missile.

Ingo (ilembcke) | 669 comments If it was filmed, it might be:
Walter Wager
Viper 3 1977 as per Goodreads. I remember the film, which is on TV every other blue moon, with Burt Lancaster.
The film is named differently, Twilight's Last Gleaming
If that's not the book, I'd like to get to know the real one, this one lands on my to-be-read-list. Sounds like Alistair Maclean or Colin Forbes.

Ingo (ilembcke) | 669 comments Just searched Amazon.Com and co.uk (.de had no hits), it is available in various conditions both Hardcover and Paperback with the usual cheap used less than 1 Us$ and going up to 75 Us$ + p&p New/1st Edt. .

Phil | 195 comments Checked out Viper Three, but it's not the one. Going by what I remember from the back description, the facility sounded more like a holding area rather than a launch site. Going to try to get back to the bookstore I saw it in.
