Thanks, everyone! I've considered carefully each proposal and will choose an editor among the ones I've spoken with.
I've finally decided to make the next step and invest into my book I've been writing/editing for the last 2 years.
I am searching for a person to help me polish my novel, make the writing look professional and readable.
There is an important issue: the original language of the book is actually Spanish, I've done my best to translate the manuscript into English, which is my second language, but I've been told that it is too evident from my writing (commas in wrong places and lack of transitions). That's why I need professional help in the first place. My dialogues are mostly ok but I feel the text lacks description and high-flown language. I've tried to polish as much as I can but it never feels good enough.
I hope the person would help me chapter by chapter, line by line. The book is translated 75% (8/11 chapters ready - will be done translating in about a month), and is estimated to be around 65k words when finished, however I know that I can do better. I actually aim at least 75k words.
Ideally it would be a person that enjoys tear-jerking love stories with a touch of paranormal and spiritual (not religious). The book is set in Chile in the early 60's. It contains a couple of erotic scenes, nothing grotesque.
