Hi all,We're delighted to share some good news today – the Ask the Author page on Goodreads is now available on mobile web. Go ahead and check it out.

Okay, I'll bite. What is KDP, and what type of books did you publish there? How has the marketing gone with these books?

It's the way you publish directly with AMZ, regardless of the genre in which you publish. KDP itself provides no marketing, as it's just software which converts your manuscript and cover into Kindle format and makes it available at AMZ. As some of my own (small) royalties have come in from Japan, England, France, Germany, etc., and I've taken personal steps to publish with AMZ.uk, etc., AMZ-US takes care of that for you. (Of course, you have to indicate in the publishing process that you want your book available in those markets, and AMZ will convert your US dollar price to the local currency.)

Can I highly recommend that you also set up your author pages in each country which has this? No, Amazon doesn't do it for you! The countries are USA, UK, France, Germany, and Japan. I had six sales in Germany the day after I set up my Amazon.de author page.

Use Google Chrome's translate when you are on foreign Amazon pages, and click Author Page, and sign in with your regular Amazon author central account. You have to go through a quick 3 or 4 step confirmation process.

How does Goodreads distinguish and differentiate readers and authors on its website in order to highlight authors, especially those who do not have the benefit of a benediction from the gatekeepers of publishing? Writers offer a unique prospective on different facets of life that may escape traditional publishing. Does Goodreads accommodate those writers?
Actually, Henry, I suspect the response is going to be that GR doesn't exist to "accommodate" authors. It's a reader's Web site, and if there's a choice between doing X that makes the experience better for readers and Y that makes life better for authors on the site, all things being equal, GR will go with X.Just my USD .02.

Thanks for your astute comment.
First, we’ve updated the look and feel of the page to make it more visually appealing to readers and make it easier for them to ask questions and read answers.
Second, we’ve added a new section for readers to ask questions and view answers from authors they follow. So, whenever you have Ask the Author turned on, your followers will be able ask you questions from this page. Even if you aren’t currently taking questions, your followers will see your most recently answered question and can easily dive in to see your other answers.
If you have feedback or suggestions for us, we’d love to know. Go ahead and share what you think with us in this thread - we’ll actively monitor it as we continue developing more features for the page.
