I was two thirds of the way through the book before I realized irene named herself after Irene Adler. Vale is sherlock and alberich is moriarty. Watson was played by a dragon. What easter eggs did I miss. I love books influenced by holmes but I haven't read the original books.

Watch the new series (then get that picture of Irene out of your head, warning risque).

Singh is an analogue with Inspector Lestrade (although he seems a great deal more competent). I couldn't help thinking that he was in a relationship with Vale.
