Closing the Door: Asking for Writing Space - How do you define your space?

Funny read. I'm lucky because I have my own writing space, our sitting room, which my husband rarely bothers to enter. The exceptions are some weekend nights when he wants to watch Netflix. We live alone with our puppy so I have few interruptions aand if my husband sticks his head in the door to tell me something and I make a pained face he knows to come back in about ten minutes once I've worked out a sticky plot/character issue lol. He even tries to keep fresh flowers on my desk - as a romance author this does wonders for my creativity, believe it or not.
I write hunched on the couch while my husband tries to talk to me and ends up feeling lonely, rejected and ignored.

I write a lot in the office. I share it with my brother who has limited vision. He never sees that I am writing so he talks to me and I have learned how to have a discussion with him and write at the same time.
