hello! i'm a newbie here and i specifically joined because i wanted to find a book that i read before..i actually owned it before but lost it..dunno if my aunt borrowed it and forgot to give it back or if i gave it as a gift..anyway i would love to read it again..so i cant remember the title nor the author but i believe it was a historical/regency romance..the girl had an accident as a child..i cant remember if she was poisoned or she drank something by mistake and so when she grew up she couldn't talk so well..she can say a few words but it ends up husky or her voice is all wrong and if she tries to speak for a long time her throat hurts..so because of this she doesn't speak at all in public which was misconstrued by a lot of people and thought she was totally mute. anyway the guy's name is Anthony and he became interested with the girl. ended up courting her and marrying her in the end i believe. but because the girl's self esteem was so low due to her disability they have some issues along the way. anyway the girl tries to hire tutors to help her speak well and she tries so hard but there was nothing to be done because the damage to her throat was so severe that there really is no way to cure it. in the end the guy tells her that she's okay the way she is and he loves her anyway. so they just learn sign language (i think) and they become happy in the end. the girl also calls the guy "Anonee.." cause she cant say his name well due to her throat issues..thats it..thats all i remember..haha..anyway..hope you can help me..thank you! :)
