Al Macy (pianoal) First, I'm posting here because I couldn't find a forum on "Promoting your Book on Goodreads." Please let me know if there is a forum like that.

Tip: National vs. International. I read an article that suggested that you run a giveaway for all countries. It said that the winner is likely to be in the U.S. anyway, and you'll get more exposure.

That may be true, but for my first three giveaways, one winner was in Maine, one in India, and one in the Philippines. It's a bit of a bother when you can't even figure out how the winner's name works. You also may need to make a special trip to the post office. So, I think I'll stick with U.S. and Canada giveaways.

I had 1190 enter the international giveaway for my three books, and 697 for the corresponding domestic giveaway. By mistake, the latter was on Saturday/Sunday, so that may have influenced something.

I like two-day, one-book giveaways. It puts me on the new list and the about-to-end list.

Question: I have the links to the 1,887 people who entered. I do NOT want to spam or promote, but is there any non-intrusive way to capitalize on those people who have at least some interest in my books?

Thanks,

Al

Joan Hovey (joanhallhovey) | 40 comments You garnered a great number of entries. Well done, Al. I have to say I find Goodreads complicated to navigate. My own book, 'Defective' is on countdown today at .99
So I'll just post it here. :)http://amzn.com/B00CO81XAW

Great info. Thanks! I think I'll try to do a giveaway this summer for the first book in my series, and go from there. Great idea about the two day, one book way to get in those slots. Would love some advice from someone who has been through this. What are the best days to run the giveaway? Any tips?
