GYL book need statement for Carole P. Roman
The Grow Your Library program, directed by the non-profit Kids Need to Read, is giving book grants to four libraries annually in high poverty communities around the US. The program is now in its 3rd year. Past awards have gone to communities with poverty as high as 100%. Some of the libraries serving these communities have no funds to buy new books or replace damaged or missing books. The recipients of our grants are often speechless with gratitude. When the children see the new books they are in awe of the new treasures.
Please support the Grow Your Library program. How? By donating 4 copies of your book, or even four sets of your books, suitable for children. Everything from board books to Young Adult books are in need. The demand always exceeds the supply so your generosity is appreciated.
Please send your donation to:

No deadline really. I take books when I can get them and work with what I have. However, best case scenario would be by the end of May.
Thanks, G

Hello Carole, Tina and I are preparing to deliver book grants to four libraries in high poverty areas of the USA for 2017! With your help, each library receiving a Grow Your Library grant receives 200 new books. Last year you donated 22 books and it was sincerely appreciated.
My request is again simple. Would you donate four sets of books? Or another nice selection of books? Whatever you feel you can contribute to the Grow Your Library program. My hope is that someday we have enough author and publisher support to send more than 200 books to each library. Five years from now, Tina and I plan to increase the number of libraries we visit each year. When jobs no longer get in the way of our volunteer activities!
For 2017, we have found libraries in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Arizona to award book grants. The poverty rates for these communities range from 48% to 100%. Over the past two years, the Grow Your Library program through Kids Need to Read has blessed 8 libraries across the United States with donations of 200 books each.
