Are you all ready to start this book tomorrow? I'm excited to finally read this. I've heard great things about this series. :)

I've had it for like 2 months and haven't touched it yet, so I'm totally excited to get started! Is there any specific way we're reading this or just as much as we can and commenting whenever?

I can't wait! I heard there was alternate universe in there if the Romanovs survived, so that's what made me pick it up in the first place lol

I'm fine with us just reading and commenting when we can/feel like reading or commenting. Of course, if you girls want, we can plan a reading schedule too.

@Lindsey, we haven't agreed on any specific date. I think it's fine if we just read when we can. Some people may not have as much time to read as others, so maybe it's better to leave the end date open. That way no one feels pressured to read. What does everyone else think?

I started yesterday but wasn't able to read more than ten pages. It's my final week of spring semester, so I have exams and deadlines almost everyday. I will try to catch up on Friday when my summer vacation begins. :)

How did you like it Lindsey? I haven't had much time to read, so I have only read five chapters. So far I like the story a lot, though.

Marguerite: (view spoiler)[ I like her. I think it's interesting that she is the only artsy person in her family. Sounds like she's a talented painter. It must be really weird for her and Theo to visit the parallel universes and pretend to be the alternative versions of themselves. Somehow, I would have expected aunt Susannah to notice something strange about Meg's behavior, but maybe she does not pay enough attention to notice anything. They don't seem to be that close in the in London universe after all. (hide spoiler)]

I like the idea (view spoiler)[ of the parallel universes. I mean, the number of the universes is ridiculously high. Imagine all the possible universes Marguerite and Theo could end up in. I wonder if it's smart for Theo to actually travel between universes. What if he does not realize he needs a reminder? He could take the firebird locket off when he's high and not even realize it. Marguerite's parents (view spoiler)[ seem very nice. I like it, how they treat their research assistants like family members. (hide spoiler)]

I'm definitely up for another buddy read if we all like this one. I haven't finished this book yet , but I think I will want to read the next one. :)

I have now read 15 chapters and here are some of my thoughts:

They have stayed (view spoiler)[ in the Russian universe a long time. I wonder, how they will get out of there. Will they get both firebird lockets back and if not, who will they leave behind? (hide spoiler)]

Somehow (view spoiler)[ I feel like Marguerite should think of her actions a bit more. I get it that it's not her fault she can't leave the Russian universe. Anyway, she should take into consideration that everything she does affects the other Marguerite's life too. I mean, she does occasionally think that she's stealing important moments from the other Marguerite, but that doesn't keep her from doing what she wants. (hide spoiler)]

I wonder, (view spoiler)[ what Paul wants to check up in the next dimension that he cannot tell Marguerite about. My guess is that either someone Marguerite loves is working for Wyatt Conley or then Marguerite's dad is alive somehow. (hide spoiler)]

Okay, I finished.

I really liked this book, although (view spoiler)[ there were some plot twists that annoyed me a little. Personally, I'm not a fan of dead people suddenly being alive, so the fact that both Marguerite's dad and Paul survived their 'deaths' was a bit too much for me. (hide spoiler)]

I wonder what the next book will be about. (view spoiler)[ I guess it could be about Marguerite and her friends going after Conley in different universes. I hope we'll get to see some cool new universes then. :D (hide spoiler)]
