Neko had landed outside the building and had taken a huge breath. She walked inside slowly, cautiously. She hadn't been here in a few... Well... A lot of years. She sighed as the old familiar smell of dark wood entered her nose. It was the one thing she actually liked about the stupid place. Heading over to assignment desk she waited.

((Lols, yeah, can't be helped, that was the style Ange had in mind when she chose the image of the school, so I've been trying to keep a similar pattern))


Nanami was sitting - no - standing in the waiting room, staring at a picture on the wall. She looked at it with care, deep thought and attention. She thought it was pretty good, not that she knew what the differece was since she hadn't particularly encounted artistics on her sea, the seventh sea. She didn't even notice the Cat Reaper enter.

Neko looked around the desk, no one was there. How odd. She then reached out her hand and pinged the little bell on the desk, waiting for someone to come. Though someone should have been there already.

Nanami blinked and looked over at the Cat by the desk. "They're busy, you have to wait," she said in an even, calm tone. This was her first entrance here, but Kid had said this was where to go when you're a new student reaper at the school. Nanami didn't like the thought of being here at all.

Neko blinked at hearing a voice. She turned and saw someone else here. "Oh.. Thank you." She murmured softly as she headed over and took a seat on a armchair. Her hands were balled in her lap, she was nervous. She didn't want to be here, to kill. She sighed as she raised her head and looked up at the desk, her ears flat against her head as her tail hung.

Nanami smiled lightly, and nodded, "sure," she said then looking at the Cat Reaper and noticing the way her ears and tail were reacting. She asked, "Are you nervous about something?"

Without thinking about it Neko looked up. "I don't want to kill." She said firmly before looking back down at her hands. God she was so nervous. She hated it. She didn't want to be here, she just wanted to leave. But she couldn't. Ever. She had been made a reaper. One that was destined to preserve the balance and take souls to Hell. She would never have any kittens of her own and she would always be hated. It was all so unfair.

"Hm, well Reapers are not meant to kill, we merely carry the souls from their dead bodies to the Reaper Realm where they are transferred either to Heaven or Hell. Then again, some go straight to Hell, others to Heaven. Seems like you've been doing a lot of killing, have you?" Said Nanami somewhat insensitively since well, she'd been avoiding detection from other reapers and from the Kings themselves for centuries while still solo reaping on her sea.

"It still sucks. I have though... Killed many. But I ran away... For a long time. But life had other plans and I was forced to return. I... I don't regret it though, since I have met my kitty master." She explained as she kept looking at her hands. She didn't look anywhere else and Neko wanted nothing more then for Yoshirou to be there right now. But he wouldn't. He would never. Sighing she looked up finally at the other again. "What is your story?"

Nanami raised a brow. Kitty Master? she wondered. Had there really been such a thing in existence when she'd been a part of the reaper world before? Or had that developed later when she was solo reaping, and therefore she knew nothing of?

"My story? Oh well, I was the last of the seven reapers created to guard one of the seven seas with their reaper partners. As the seventh, I guard the seventh, fell in love with my partner, we lived many happy years together, until he was killed, and I decided to guard the seventh sea on my own. Been avoiding the other reapers for years. But well, they caught me in the end. Coming here is my punishment," she said grimacing at the thought of having to find a partner. Which totally did not want. And even if she did find one, that Reaper would have to agree to return to Nanami's sea with her. Nanami wasn't about to reap anywhere else.

Neko watched her speaking and listened to her story. She nodded at the end and looked down at her hands. "I'm sorry..." She murmured softly, knowing it sounded pathetic but she had nothing else to say. She also didn't want to come off as rude by saying nothing. So rather say something inferior then nothing at all. She sighed. It seemed their stories were not that much different. Well, at least the running part wasn't. Neko hadn't lost anyone important. Then again she never had had anyone before. And now she did and also didn't.

"What are you sorry for?" Said Nanami, gripping her katana - her scythe - tightly. Her social skills were a little lacking, and she tended to say what was on her mind a lot. Though, Nanami didn't quite understand the Cat Reaper much.

"Guessing the fellow girl was socially awkward Neko was blunt. "I'm sorry you had such a shitty life. It's what people say to make the other feel better, though it's stupid really." She said, being blunt as well. She returned her gaze to her hands and wondered just how bloody busy the stupid office could be.

"I don't particularly think my life was shitty," said Nanami tilting her head. "It was actually quite pleasant. So I suppose, I should say 'I'm sorry' to you too?" That seemed to be the social norm, but Nanami had to agree with the Cat Reaper, it was a very stupid thing to say. It didn't make sense at all.

Neko returned her gaze to the other reaper. "Well to be more specific people say it when another has lost a loved one. I never lost anyone since there was no one to lose, so I wouldn't understand. But it's what people say. To show they aren't cold heartless bastards. But it is little comfort. You don't have to say it to me though, I just got into a shitty job is all." Neko explained. She hoped she wasn't coming across as mean but since this girl was blunt she might as well be too. Besides, playing games was never Neko's thing. Well, unless it involved a bedroom and Yoshirou then it wouldn't count. She then blushed royally from that thought.

"That makes sense. Though it's hard to get stuck with this shitty job, if this is the shitty job that you were created for, for the rest of your life. I find it hard to believe that it could have been that shitty." Nanami was not about to feel sorry for someone who couldn't appreciate what they had. Nanami never wanted anyone to sympathise with her. She believed in the fact hat you chose to do something, and refused to listen to the warnings, therefore you have only yourself to blame. If you blame others, then I will not feel sorry for you, that was the kind of attitude that Nanami had. Unfortunately, Nanami didn't know Neko's story in its entirety, so the words that came out of her mouth were just from observation, and what she'd learnt rather than from actually knowledge. She'd reserve whether she felt sorry for the girl or not til later when and if she ever got to know more about this Cat Reaper.

Neko listened. It stung, a little, this girl and her bluntness. But... She was right. Suddenly Neko stood. "Your right!" She shouted. She looked at the assignment desk and gave it the finger. "To Hell with them! I don't want to kill or reap or nothing!" She shouted before storming out of the place. She returned a few moments later and gave the girl a hug. "Thank you!" She said and then bowed formally before leaving, rushing away. Throwing away her heritage for good.

Nanami blinked, not sure what had just happened. Feeling responsible, and would probably get punished again for convincing, for some reason, another reaper to give up their duties completely, she rushed outside and yelled at the girl, "hey, that's not what I meant!"

"I don't care! I absconded once I will bloody do it again!" Neko shouted as she spread her wings and took flight. She didn't care. She didn't want to be responsible for killing or delivering souls to their ultimate fate. She wanted to be free, have kittens, be a wife and a mother. Be someone Yoshirou might actually love back.....

"You can't you know! They'll haul you back, and punish you again. Whatever punishment you got last time, the next time will be a thousand times worse," Nanami yelled, she slipped into the shadows and deliberately came out on Neko's back, throwing the girl off balance.

Neko screamed in surprise before losing her balance. Soon both girls were falling. Neko had to enter the shadows with the girl to avoid smacking into the ground. Sitting with her legs beneath her and coughing up dust she glared at the other, hissing and showing her small kitty teeth. "What is wrong with you?!" She shouted.

Nanami rolled off Neko and smirked, "you're a strange reaper...what was I supposed to do? I don't have wings," said Nanami spinning and flourishing an arm to point to gesture to the lack of wings on her back.

Neko just gaped. She bounced up and inspected the girl's back, then blinked rapidly for several moments. Then she started waving her hands about, gesturing wildly as she shouted, "You jumped onto my back with no wings yourself?! What if I hadn't caught that shadow?! You would be dead?! What the hell is wrong with you are you suicidal or what?!" Truthfully Neko was just scared, the girl could have gotten hurt bad because of her. Neko sat down abruptly and started rocking back and forth. "I need some sugar..." She muttered.

"Something like that," said Nanami shrugging, "it's actually more just daring. And it's not unusual, most of us earlier creations are standard, no wing types. When were you created?" Nanami hadn't been worried about dying. Because she had known she would make it. For Nanami who had been reaping alone for years, she had to learn how to survive. And that meant learning all the tricks. If there's light, there's always going to be shadow.

Neko blinked and took a calming breath, deciding this girl was bloody nuts. She stood and dusted herself off. Then she blinked, realising she had never taken a bath or changed her close. She smirked and shrugged to herself really. Well love was strange. She sighed and looked up at the other girl. "I'm old. I was one of the first newer models." She said, giving away how old she truly was. Which was old.

"Before or after Eri and En, aka Ereshkigal and Nergal En?" Nanami asked. Both of them were practically third and fourth created. Nanami was the last of the seven seas reapers to be created, but all seven of them were not all far off. She was just the last and seemingly the weakest, another reason why she was so determined to maintain her solo position, since it strengthened her.

Neko shrugged. "After." She said, revealing her truest age. Yup, she was almost as old and the Kings and Queens, having been alive for generations. She didn't like telling her true age though. Since it would make her seem like some teenage looking but truly old lady stealing young guys pervert. She sighed, wondering about what Yoshirou was currently doing.

"Hm, I think you're older than me, but not by much," said Nanami. "Closer to the Kings age than I am, that's for sure!" Said Nanami spinning her katana around. Nanami had only really glimpsed the Queens once when she was handed her seventh sea assignment. She remember learning that the Kings had been created through the combined blood of the Queens, a century or few after they'd each been crowned Queen. Nanami shivered at the thought.

"Not so loud!" Neko glared with a pouting face at the other girl. She didn't want her age broadcast over all of Xennel. She then glanced around with suspicious eyes, wondering if anyone had been nearby and if so what exactly had they heard. She then sighed and returned her attention to the other, crossing her arms she sighed.

"Fufu, worried about being old? Well, I'm sure others are less worried than you are, you still look young," Said Nanami tilting her head, smirking. Her eyes following Neko's as they darted around suspiciously.

"Yes if you must know!" Neko whispered fiercely as she made sure no one was around. When she was sure she sighed and puffed out her cheeks. Then she approached the girl and smirked. "Your an ass but I like you."

Nanami just consider her, then smiled somewhat, "yeah? That's a first." Only one person had said they liked her. Usually all the souls she collected yelled at about how much they hated her. She usually ignored them because well, it was their fault for dying in the first place. Nanami was just the messenger.

Neko shrugged. "There's a first for everything. Like the time I placed fish and ice cream on a pepperoni pizza." She said as she looked about. She then yawned before flicking her tail about.

Nanami frowned, "That sounds disgusting," she said making a face. Sure she reaped around fish, even taking fish souls to dish heaven, but fish was kind of like her least favourite meal since she had it so often.

Neko laughed. "Yeah it was one of my least brilliant plans." She admitted. Then she sighed and started pacing. "I seriously don't want to reap but it seems I have no choice. Now I have to be sidled with a partner I don't know or even met." She admitted.

Nanami shrugged, "you can choose you know. You just have to go out and find someone."

Neko just glared and pouted again. "But they all hate me!" She whined. She stomped around like a small child, getting her anger and frustration out before blinking and looking up at the sky. She was thinking about all the reapers she had ever met. She was trying to decide who would be best. She hadn't met many and she was going through the list pretty fast.

Nanami just looked to the side, she didn't believe it was possible to be hated by anyone. And hate she felt, should be easy to get over. "Uh, well, then go meet new people. Most of the reapers you've already met no doubt had their own partners already so just discount them."

Neko blinked and then lowered her head, looking at her. Of course! They would all be paired up by now! Ugh. She then stomped her foot and whined like a small kid, "But I don't wanna meet new reapers! I want to avoid em!" She puffed her cheeks and glared. Great. Now she would have to hang out with new people. She didn't like new people. Only humans who didn't know any better and who offered her food. Preferably fish.

"Uh...why not? And why do you want to avoid them?" Said Nanami curiously. Sure she herself was a little socially awkward at the moment, but she has found pleasure in meeting new people, and she sure didn't mind. At leat, when they could stand her.

"I only like conversing with humans. Too many reapers are too blood thirsty and insane for my taste. Either that or their just weird." Neko replied as she again looked around her, her feet were bare, and she was picking up vibrations in the ground.

"Wow, what kind of reaper company did you keep woman?" Said Nanami. Before Nanami became a recluse, solo reaping and avoiding others, she and her partner had met other reapers and conversed with them.

"The insane kind apparently." Neko said before holding up her hand, the vibrations were getting stronger, hence whatever was causing them was getting closer as well. Holding out her hand her reaping scythe appeared as she turned back to the other. Neko flicked her golden eyes to the trees behind her before saying, "But then again most of us are." It was obvious her message, danger, get ready, keep acting normal.

Nanami shrugged, "I can't speak for all reapers, but those who I know, I know are very well, normal. But then, I'm talking about years back, these days, I have no idea what kind of reapers the Kings are churning out."

Neko was moving, she was circling to get around whoever was behind them, the vibrations getting stronger and stronger. "Well even back then they were all nutty." She said casually, nodding to the other to get ready for something.

Nanami didn't move, not because she didn't sense the soul behind them, but because it already looked like Neko was handling it. Nanami sighed, "if you say so," she said. "You keep strange company indeed."

By now Neko was gone, moving into the trees and circling.

Suddenly a renegade creature came darting from the forest and towards the girl. Neko however was right behind it. She jumped it and it landed, scuttling across the ground with Neko on it's back. It was a wild creature that seemed to be pissed as hell. Neko blinked, letting her scythe vanish. She looked about it. It kinda resembled a purple pig. Then she looked up, "I think something is stuck in it's mouth." She said, raising an eyebrow and shrugging, all that trouble and excitement over nothing. Unless it was a distraction... But then again, no one else was around and the vibrations stopped when the piggy did.

Nanami turned, blinking at the sight of the wild creature. She hadn't even bothered to draw her katana. There was no need, as she had figured. "Well, take it out," she said to Neko, after her suggestion that there might be something stuck in its mouth.
