Anita (anitafajitapitareada) Alright Seuvians, April's challenge is to head all the way back to the beginning of your to-read shelf and get that book knocked out!

Do IT! How long has it been there? Years?? Go pick it up and get it in your eyeballs. There's a reason it's on your shelf, right? Let's show it some love and get it outta there and onto the Read shelf.

Now come back here and tell us what book has been (past tense cuz you read it, right?) plaguing your to-read shelf and how good it feels to move it along. I hope it was worth the read, was it?

Bonus: Like the way that feels? Go ahead and pick up the next one too, and the next.. and the next..?

Eujean2 | 24 comments I finally read The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian by Sherman Alexie and it was excellent! I have been meaning to read some of his work since I saw him speak 7 or 8 years ago.

I have The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven on my shelf at home. I'll have to make sure I don't wait another 7 years to read that one.

Anita (anitafajitapitareada) I loved that book, I listened to the audio too - read by Alexie. my first story by him was a short story called What You Pawn I Will Redeem, it made me an instant fan. Check it out if you can, you should be able to view it on the Web. I'm in my phone or if find and link it for you. I'm glad you got that read off your shelf and into your head!

Ribbon (ribbonquest) Watching A Series of Unfortunate Events put me in the mood to read The Lump of Coal - at least since the library finally found the copy that's been "available" for several years. Not that great, honestly.

Meaghan (immortalraine) | 23 comments After about a decade of meaning to read it I'm finally reading American Gods... Nothing like a tv series coming out to force you to ginally read the source material lol. I'm almost finished. Love it! But the it's hard to go wrong with Gaiman.

Kari | 4 comments The oldest book on my To-Read list is Dogsbody by Diana Wynne Jones. I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to check this book out--I love Jones' books and I love dogs, so...?

It was available for immediate checkout from my local digital library, so I'm waiting until I'm done with The Goblin Emperor, then I'm reading it!!

Jessica Andersen (jessmary) | 9 comments I picked the oldest book in my Kindle Unlimited check-outs. The Heiress of Linn Hagh. It was pretty good, kind of Sherlock Holmes lite. It had a nice gothic feel and was a quick read. I will probably read more in the series eventually.

Kari | 4 comments I finally read Dogsbody and as has been the case with many older books by authors, it simply doesn't stand up to the author's later works. Also, unhappy ending and cruelty to animals.
