Mary (broomemarygmailcom) This book had me going even from the title. I thought it was Blink and your child could be kidnapped or worse. When I realized pretty late in the book that the blink was a way of communicating with a stroke patient, I said to myself..."oh sure." Too bad the blurb said it was Toni who was unable to speak and had the stroke. That confused me quite a way into the book. Maybe I just read it wrong.
This book just kept going and going (in a good way)...I think I guessed every character (except the grandmother) except one and she turned out to be guilty. It came out of the blue but with the accomplice that showed up with her, it made sense. The ending was good and happy after the drama and violence which only showed up at the ending. I hope everyone enjoyed this one as much as I did.

Clare (clarebears) | 61 comments Mary - I thought it was Toni who had the stroke too. The plot line was so ingenious, first I thought it was the manipulative Harriet Watson. Then I changed my mind and it may have been Toni's boss Bryony. I had almost forgotten Nancy the nurse who treated Evie's bee stings. Who knew she would play such a pivotal role in the book later. I don't understand why Jo could not be identified after her stroke. Most people carry some form of ID when outdoors. This was an excellent book and I am glad Evie came home at last.
