Irene | 1982 comments I read this a few years ago. I liked the one story, but the story with in that story was odd and I did not understand its purpose. Although I like Atwood, I would not give this a second read at this point in my life.

Jill | 46 comments I am only about a third of the way through this...I like it so far but I've just had trouble getting much reading done this month. I'm trying to decide if I'll finish it in May or come back to it another time.

Monica | 3 comments I have finished it. It was a slow start, but then, as usual Margaret Atwood draws you in her world with the amazing way she writes and dwells in women's inner world.
Some of the book is a bit cheesy... Jeremiah the Peddler for one.. I think she had to stick him in because of the shirt they found on Mr Kinnear when dead.
In general it's an entertaining read, Grace story is amazing.
The dawning of psychology as well.
It would be a three and a half stars, but having to choose between 3 and 4, it deserves 4.

Irene | 1982 comments I read this several years ago, but remember being confused by the ending, although I can't recall the specifics. I also was perplexed by the story within the story. I found that second narrative line weird at best.
