Mitch's motive for the abduction soon becomes clearer but his plan was to release Forde all along. Did you understand that strategy?

Anita (anitanodiva) | 849 comments I got that Mitch was a master manipulator. He wanted revenge against his step-dad and Daphne both, at the same time. There were a lot of moving pieces to his elaborate plan.

CD {Boulder Blvd} (boulderblvd) | 39 comments There was a part of me that thought a real life Mitch wouldn't have let Ford go, but would have made Daphne think she was getting Ford back and then wouldn't. It still would have left him able to stage his end game.

Danielle Gypsy Soul (afdaniellet) I think he really wanted her to know that it was all tied into her abduction when she was a child but there were easier ways to do that then letting Ford go. It really didn't make sense except in the plot sense that I think the author needed a way to keep Ford alive.

At first I thought keeping Forde alive was a plot hole. But, as the story evolved, I got that he also wanted to humiliate her. By letting him go after having the whole world focused on his abduction, then they'd have to learn about her role in keeping Wilson Beckett a free man. Then it made sense. Forde was just a tool for his larger agenda. And, he wanted to torture and kill her, having Forde experience what he had when his mother supposedly committed suicide.
