There are very few who are willing to take on the burden of their sadness, so there was no hope. Until, a small group of people found out, there is another world to go to, a better world.
The government found out about this and are trying to stop people from knowing about this and crossing over because they would lose their power, as nobody would be left on this world.
The small group of people who fight for and know of the other world is called The Resistance.

The City was created at the beginning as time, serving as a side timeline to the main timeline that everybody exists on. People can move here, or they are born here. The creator seeked to create a place that all species could enjoy their own rights, and peace. He made the environment suck up all of the sadness so people would only feel happy. Most people thought this was a miracle, since they had never achieved such things on Earth.
The City Company Co. manages all things created, from computers to fresh produce. The City Company Co. is an open place with many departments for fresh and old workers alike to help the city. The City Company Co. (TCCC) is aware of the environmental problems, but can't do anything about it, except creating more products that invoke more joy in people.
