Which book and I'll click the button. Does it matter? I have no idea. I suppose it makes a difference. I wish I knew these things!

Thanks to both of you for buying the book. I sell so very few in the UK. And my reviews in the US are not so good, so Carole has made such a difference and my sales chart in the UK will have a bump on it at last. xxxxx to you all.

Not Marlie Farm, we're the other side of Dymchurch in Burmarsh. Full on Dr Syn area though. The railway is still there, we've been on it many times. The Day of Syn still takes place every other year.

Everyday I visit every book and vote up any reviews that people have left. Once a week, I do the Goodreads reviews.
I want to add that being a high ranking reviewer on Amazon is an easy thing to do. Write reviews on everything you read and the more votes you get, the quicker you will move up. It is a way of getting noticed. People who like your reviews may be interested in reading your books. I think of the reviews as practice.
I only learnt about this reviewer ranking when, late one night, someone voted all my reviews down - in a flash. It just so happened that I was checking everything before shutting down for the night. Whatever for? Then someone wised me up about people like that and she went and voted up all those reviewers who'd been hit.And now I always press the 'helpful' button. Except if I'd rather not have received the review!
It's a way of thanking reviewers that you don't know. There's quite a few and I wonder who they could possibly be. So I have to just 'thank' them.

I'm fascinated by the way things sometimes work out. Whoever that petty person was who voted the other reviewers down, has made me see that it is worth voting good reviewers up. So that petty person has more competition for the top spot all because he/she voted some down.Karma - or something like that.

What I learned is that reviews really do help sell a book, and they don't have to be good. You should have some lower stars- that way
purchasers will trust what's being said. It's easy to spot the fake ones. They say things like "This book was the best! You will really miss out if you don't buy this book."
I write a review thinking what may make a person buy this book- I have very specific tastes and they run quite opposite of most people. I give a basic recap of the story, say what I think the theme might be- This should appeal to people when they read it. If they see if full of magic or atmospheric- it perks up their appeal. I rarely say that I loved it- why would anybody care? It's a bit like trying on a swimsuit or clothes. Here's how it looks- do you see something that appeals to you? (That should be in italics' but I can't figure out how to do it.)

R.L.I like your idea of leaving cards wherever you can, I want to do that but feel like I'd get in trouble if I tried. I've had this struggle of leaving my business cards at places because I feel like its either not the appropriate place to leave them or I'll get in trouble for leaving them.

Lolol. I always sold the most cookies, carwash tickets in school lol. Girl, I'm a pain in the butt.
Maybe you can contact bookstores in your neighborhood and offer them 25% if they allow you to place a table in their stores.

There's a simple Dutch proverb I live by: "Nee heb je, ja kun je krijgen" which translates to "Right now you have a "no", a "yes" is still possible" or "There's no harm in trying."
