2017/2018/2019 What Are You Experiencing In Multimedia?

Ahh. Maybe you will catch it sometime. It worked fine on a Playstation. Maybe it has trouble with remote control commands.
There has been a lot of talk about Bandersnatch.
I thought it was pretty good. I got a kick out of it.
If they make different ones similar to this movie, it would be cool to add more choices.
If they did one in a movie theater, maybe they could run it by counting the most shouts for each option, ha!, ha!

Possibly a first? Merely a Twitter tweet, but elected politician Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez quoted Alan Moore: None of you understand. I'm not locked up in here with YOU. You're locked up in here with ME.

I have said how unfair this is in the past but it is pointless trying to counterargument against major entertainment corporations strategies. However, I think Netflix service has helped to decrease the level of piracy worldwide but I think all this segmentation in the streaming services will lead to an increase in illegal downloads, especially with the above mentioned geographic restrictions.
Dunno if they've been posted before, but recently watched:
South of Watford: Positive Punk documentary with Michael Moorcock
Time Out of Mind: episode 3 with Michael Moorcock and M. John Harrison
Jan 22 update: oops... just noticed the Time Out of Mind vid is over in the Videos section. Maybe a Mod could put the "Positive Punk" vid over there too?

NightFlyers - This is a sci-fi horror show based on a novella by George R.R Martin. The whole show ( not counting flashbacks ) passes inside a generation ship and balances very well horror and science fiction.
Lost in Space- When I was kid the the original show was not funny for me in the sense I did not think it was humorous, it was for me kind of dark instead. The new series is a much more serious approach and an excellent show in the vein of Terra Nova.
Jessica Jones - First season was absolutely amazing in the same level of all Daredevil seasons with the advantage of having cool jazzy soundtrack. I am in the middle of season 2 but not liking it a lot.

Can't believe how much I like season 1 of Star Trek Discovery.
For this reporter, best Star Trek since first seeing Kirk vs the Gorn, Kirk vs the Salt Monster, or Wrath of Khan.

Possibly another first: politician Stacy Abrams (US Minority Leader, Georgia House of Representatives) goes on record as being a Doctor Who fan: https://ew.com/tv/2019/02/08/stacey-abrams-doctor-who/
And she's in the "Tom Baker was the best Doctor" camp.

No. I never heard of that, even though I watched most things Python related, like Eric the Viking. (and Absolutely Anything on Netflix)
Unless I saw a bit of it in the 'Personal Best' material.
It does seem first and second seasons of the original show were best. A later season with a guy turning into a balloon was a highlight, though. That might be something most fans agree with.
It's cool that the main actress of the show, was also in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and that live show. She should probably be more famous than she is.
I'll be sure to watch it, if I come across it while streaming.
I've been meaning to watch Jaberwoki again.....
Thanks very much!

Very cool. I saw Saru in the summer, in person. I was a few feet away when he posed for pictures in front of his table.
---------
I am watching season 6 of The Saint. They are good episodes. Roger Moore on his way to become James Bond. Templar has many of 007's skills anyway.
The Saint makes me think that the 1960's Star Trek episodes were filmed by real Space Aliens. The women in The Saint are portrayed vastly different than the women in Star Trek. The female characters, of the same time period, in The Saint, seem way more interesting to me, at times (and more full of life), than the Star Trek ones. Maybe Star Trek wanted the actresses to be more like androids, Ha!, Ha!, Ha!, or the weirdness is from the station rules at NBC versus BBC. I'm guessing it's the American censor board, since the Westerns of the late 1960's offered similar performances.
I'll get back to the monochrome episodes sometime later.

P.S.
I'm suspicions of extra-terrestrials behind-the-scenes on sets of a TV Series.
I think The Cage says it all. Something like the Keepers did their best to heal and put back together the injured girl, but they never had seen a human before.

Since you're enjoying The Saint, so much, maybe you should keep an eye open for some other British ITC series, from the Nineteen Sixties?
There's The Baron, starring American actor, Steve Forrest. Fun stuff with a good theme tune. Or, even better, Man in a Suitcase, starring the seriously underated American actor, Richard Bradford and with an even better theme tune. Haven't seen them for a while, but I loved them as a kid and caught the occasional afternoon rerun as a student.
And, of course, I have to mention the 1960's British Avengers series. Starring Canadian actor, Patrick Macnee as John Steed. Particularly the Emma Peel era, co-starring Diana Rigg. Both the colour and the B&W series are well worth watching. A fantasy action series of a very high quality.

I love that you credit Macnee to Canada, but he's definitely British. "The New Avengers" (with Joanna Lumley of "Absolutely Fabulous" as "Purdy") was shot in Canada, in the Toronto area. I love playing with Marvel fans when they mention "The New Avengers"...

I would love to see those shows, Pietro_Mercurios_01!
A Thousand Thanks!
I bookmarked the teasers/advertisements to be sure to watch them sometime.
If they slipped in a casino related episode, that would make it even more fun. I like all sixties plot elements, though.
So many good things in the shows, really, with many things not found in modern shows.
---------
I still enjoy hearing Patrick Macnee and even though I have Battlestar Galactica on DVD, I tuned into live MeTV to hear his voice. Same with The Spy Who Loved Me, which also made me wonder if there really was a Pyramid show like in the movie. I think he narrated a ghost show too, and he had a voice cameo in the 1990's movie of The Avengers.
I remember a long time ago, it took me a little while to understand what the avengers was, only knowing space science-fiction or Westerns.
They are really cool, and season one of The Avengers has the Goldfinger connection. I once only knew the Mrs. Peel ones, and they are the ones I like best, with the other Bond connection, OHMSS. The last season is nice, thick and colourful!

I also have been watching, from the end of the Fifties, Mr. Lucky!
(having watched all seasons of The Wild Wild West)
One had Batgirl in it!
I also saw Yvonne Craig in an episode of The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and she was my favourite Orion in Star Trek.

Very cool. I don't think I'd recognize him in his regular skin.
A friend of mine and her daughter have the "Disco" shirts (because she does costumes and props and her old assistant ended up working on Discovery).

It's been ages since I watched Roger Moore as The Saint (nevertheless just saying that prompts the theme's intro).
Anyway, yes, US networks, not just NBC, wanted female androids. There was a documentary about that perverse desire called The Stepford Wives.

I remember watching that show way back when. In particular, I remember a Masque of the Red Death inspired episode.
Did not know it was kinda/sorta Can-Con. I suppose it can make up for The Starlost. ;)

Issue number one being that that hack Cordwainer Bird was the creative genius behind it.

Would've been great if Ellison could have written it :-)

It shoulda been a contender...
With Ellison gone, I suppose the only thing left to do is reboot the series, but, for the sake of CanCon, in a more Beachcombers in Space type mode:

The generation starship Molly's Reach's supply of corbomite cylinders (AKA logs) has run low, putting the ship and all its passengers at risk. The ship's vast AI, Persephone, has awoken a number of engineers from suspended animation to rectify the dire situation.

Starlost seemed really good to me, what I watched of it. I didn't get back to it because it was on a Roku device.
I'd like to get Blake's 7 with English subtitles sometime, I have them, but no captions or subtitles.
Another thing about The Saint, Edward Woodward was in one!
They had good guest stars and supporting actors.
And- I loved it when a dude fell through a hole to a 1,000 foot drop! Now, that's what I call a fun scene!

The internet was out for a little while on Saturday night, so I watched Kolchak: The Night Stalker on MeTV.
I never really get tired of it, I just space out the viewings a little longer each time. They are pretty much memorized, but still good.
I am surprised, though, with some other shows, that I also watched a lot, I forget how they go. Could be because I read the computer and watch many in the background. Anyway, that lets me watch them again sometime later.

Yeah, it all started, more or less, with a sewing machine and a serger. A few years later she was showing me these wrist bracers that she was making for this Stargate show...
----
I haven't watched Kolchak: the Night Stalker in ages. I remember seeing the start of the Night Stalker movie with the vampire, when I was quite young, and it terrified me.
In fact I kind of wish Chris Carter's attempts to resurrect the X-Files had just gone The Nightstalker movie monster/mystery of the week route, instead of trying to recapture a magic that had long passed.

The Umbrella Academy rocks!
In a very small way, I feel that it has some Watchmen qualities as well.
And maybe a little Tom Strong.

Good news Lemec!
I watched Bob Lazar: Area 51 & Flying Saucers.
It was very good.
The documentary style was a little weird, though.
It was nice to see Bob in present time.
It was good to have the U.F.O. and Alien stuff condensed, instead of having the material spread out on various videos and radio shows.
I also miss having John Lear tell the tale, but it was pretty good overall, complete with Bob Lazar's drawings of the Flying Saucer.

Game of Thrones, only one episode is left. It should be an awesome Series Finale.
I would like it if the Runestaff series gets made really soon.

Gravity Falls was pretty great. We have the Gravity Falls "Choose-Venture" book too.
We've since watched season 1 of Netflix's The Dragon Prince. Goodish but kind of generic (I thought).
