Birdsong, do you think we should start removing inactive mods now or wait for other opinions first? My concern with waiting is that we could end up waiting months before we get another response, but I don't want to get ahead of myself.

Probably wait a few days for the opinion of other members. If we don't get any remove them as a mod and send a PM about it to see if they want to be active again in the group. And if they do become active again, they can sign up as a moderator again.
That's how I'd do it.

I was also thinking about removing the "sign here" requirement in the rules chat. Rules are rules, and whoever joins the group must follow them regardless of whether they actually read them or not. If they break a rule, they'll be held accountable, and can't use the excuse, "I didn't know." You can't break a law in real life and expect to get away with it just because you didn't know it was a law. Extreme comparison, I know, but the same idea can be applied here.
Additionally, people have gotten annoyed in the past because they don't want to take the time to sign, or they generally think it's unnecessary. They're not wrong.

I won't make any changes to the group until we've removed mods, as I want to give others a chance to share their opinions on this. I'd like your opinion too. Any other ideas or suggestions for group changes?

This is just a preference, but maybe seperate creations into their own threads? Like "ThunderClan Creation", "ShadowClan Creation" and etc.? Again, just a preference. It's easier to find profiles to edit/approve them. But besides that, nothing else I can really think of atm.

I was looking at some threads and it occurred to me that we have gatherings on the 28th of each month. I think gatherings would be good to have, but only for plot specific rps. It's extremely unrealistic for gatherings to be held every month and expect all members with leaders + deputies to show up.
And frankly, gatherings really aren't necessary outside of plot specific rps. There's no point since everyone has their own standalone 1x1 rps.

The same goes for Moonpool meetings.

Another thing is the limit on characters. I think that as long as all other rules are being followed, everyone should be allowed to have as many ocs as they want. What do you think about this?

What should we do about the thread clog? There are so many threads, and the majority of them are archived/inactive or members that had threads have left the group.
At least one member has expressed their concern about this clogging issue in the past, so I think we should address it.

Gatherings/Moonpool I agree with that. It does feel a bit pointless unless used for plots.

Character limit Yea, that's what I normally do, too. As long as the rules are followed and the character is used!

Thread clog I'm unsure with this one. I would normally delete or close them if they're no longer in use in the case of one or more members have left the group or deleted their account.

I agree with your thoughts on the thread clog. Members who are no longer in the group or have deleted their accounts don't need their threads anymore.

What do you think about prohibiting the advertisement of other groups?

I used to be a moderator of an Amino app (with 160,000+ members) and we had a rule against advertising groups because people would join purely to advertise. Anyone who wanted to advertise had to ask the moderation team first in order to keep things on topic (people would advertise Aminos that had nothing to do with ours, ex. fnaf or fortnite) and to keep things organized.

I am wondering if we should implement this here as well. We obviously don't have 160k members, but people have already joined the group just to advertise.
If we create a similar guideline, though, it may seem like we're being super strict and I don't wanna be THAT kind of person. It's just very annoying when people join groups only to advertise. They don't participate in the group activities at all. Is this an issue to anyone else or should we just leave it alone? :)

I find it quite annoying, too, especially if it's in the wrong thread. I normally add an "advertise/spam" thread in my groups for those purposes. I normally add a rule that says something like "if there's a thread that says the purpose, use it for that purpose only". I think the "ask a moderator first" is a good thing when the group has a specific purpose. And probably view said advertised group before hand.

Anyone wanna try something with me? I'm gonna start a new Warriors group to start fresh and see how active I can get it to be. If it fails, I'll just come back here. If it succeeds, we can transition this group to the new one and use this one as an archive. Thoughts on this?

Of course in the meantime we can continue working on getting this group active. I'm not just gonna ditch it.

If any mods here are interested, I can make you a mod over there, too and we can get started.

Okay, so I am moving this discussion over here because some how I missed this.

I think that I can go through the achieves to see who is not in the group anymore and who might have delated there account. I don't like deleting people's characters just in case they come back.

I like it when people have to sign the rules, beacause it helps me keep track of new members.

I like the gatherings happening because it is a chance to interact with the other clans. It could start happening again once this group is more active. Maybe every 2-3 months.

I think that the 5 character rule should stay in place at least till the group is more active, so than people aren't making ten characters and can't even use them all beacause people aren't active enough.

Hello guys! Since I noticed some of us are getting to be active again maybe we can try to bring this group back to life? I will gladly take some responsibility in figuring out who is still active if y'all don't have too much time on your hands. Given, I have been stuck at home for two weeks with covid so I have been way too active for my busy life lol. But, I am trying to balance my life with other things rn and plan on being more active.
