Glad I didn't miss this readathon! I have a few library books that became available at the same time, so I have a bit to read.Americanah
The Lies of Locke Lamora
After You
Finished another Animorph- 19 The Departure. One of my favorites. I am loving my reread of this series :)
Maris, I do the same thing. I reread an Agatha Christie novel for a fun read, and I usually have forgotten the ending. Catcher in the Rye is short. I really like it, but a lot of people are of mixed opinion about it.

I read Americanah and Lies this summer, they were great! I highlighted tons of quotes in Americanah... And I've just gotten the 2nd Gentlemen Bastards book
Enjoy!
I'm reading a lot of nonfiction at the moment, they tend to take me a bit longer so this marathon is goodThe Better Angels of Our Nature- Pinker
Unwarranted: Policing without Permission- Friedman
Angels with Dirty Faces- Wilson
Destiny Disrupted: the History of the World through Islamic Eyes- ANsary
Your discussion is telling me about so many books I've not seen, thank you. I've just downloaded The Velveteen Rabbit - it looks very sweet. It will be quite a contrast with Bleak House!
Finished Breaking Away
(#5 in the Assassins series - a Hockey romance loosely based on my Nashville Predators - going to see them play tomorrow night vs the San Jose Sharks - hoping for a Stanley Cup Playoff spot) - 354 pagesWorking on:
The Dry
Cold Mountain
Hungry: A Young Model's Story of Appetite, Ambition, and the Ultimate Embrace of Curves
His Bloody Project
Finished book no. 3 Rilla of Ingleside by L.M. Montgomery. I would have enjoyed the book much more without the extremely annoying character called Susan Baker.

The Dry - 352 pages

Are you looking for a change of pace, Trish? Usually I read something short after finishing a good book like Bleak House, to give my mind a rest--or an Agatha Christie novel.
Thanks, Rosemarie - it won't be another Dickens book! Either something short or just for fun, not another classic even though there are some I want to read soon.
I finished book # 4 - Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman. It took me a while, and this readathon gave me the incentive to finish this geat book.
I read the final version, all 488 pages. It was a worthwhile read. There is so much substance to the poems. His vigorous personality and his love for all people and his country really shine through. It is a very honest book.
I decided that I needed a break from long books, so I finished book #5 - Betsy-Tacy and Tib by Maud Hart Lovelace.
Now it's back to the long ones.

WooHoo, finished 3 book books this weekend (one was an audiobook). Currently only reading 3, which is not bad, considering one I listen to in the car for my commute and the other one I listen to while doing laundry/dishes, etc. Should be able to finish one more book this week on my Kindle, and I will feel accomplished. I only have one other book checked out from the library at the moment.
I read The Good Soldier by Ford Maddox Ford. Not an easy read. A complicated story with an unreliable narrator. I didn't love it but I understand why it is on the Guardian/Boxall lists.
Book 6
I finished Tales of Mystery and Imagination by Edgar Allan Poe. Most of them were not creepy, but there were some.....

Book 7
Fever Pitch by Nick Hornby
I borrowed this one from my daughter. She left a lot of her books here when she moved out, so I have lots of books to choose from.

Finished book 10- At Swim-Two-Birds by Flann O'Brien.I have one more book to read for March to reach my goal of starting April with a new list of books to read.
Finished the last book on my list, book 11- The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August by Claire North.
That's great, Rosemarie! This was my first ever Readathon & I really enjoyed it. I only read 6 books which disappointed me a bit, but it gave me the incentive to finish Bleak House which I might otherwise have abandoned.
Six book is great, Trish. The readathon gave me the incentive to finish books that I had been reading for a while-- so I could start in on my books for April. The fact that it was a miserable day yesterday gave me all that much more time to read. Today is a nicer day- for April Fool's Day.
I finished my 2nd book last night, Owl and the Japanese Circus.
Congrats to everyone on achieving so much through the readathon!
