Thanks for the recommendation, annapi. I've seen that the most popular edition here on GR has 48 pages, whilst others have even fewer than that, so I should probably follow your advice. At least, if I don't like it, I won't have wasted hours of my time.

A Modest Proposal, by Jonathan Swift, an essay written in 1729 is meant to be a satirical look at the problem of poverty in Ireland at the time. However the satire belies certain negative beliefs about class struggles and poor people in general. In this well noted essay, Swift's solution, toward which he outlines completely and expediently, is simply to sell and eat all of the poor children, thereby reducing the burden onto the public and effectively promoting good commerce.
