There was a mystical aspect to the story involving LePere's father's visits to him during life or death moments. Your thoughts?

Seeing as I'm still not sure whether the windigo is real in this series, it's very possible to me that his father really did visit him. Of course, the other part of me thinks his father could be a manifestation of LePere's own subconscious.

I buy into the mystical aspects of the Indian culture given their oneness with the land and spirits. LePere didn't know the ice chips could be detrimental to his health until that visit with his father.
