I have done that too though... gone to my fiancé or somebody like: "this is the worst book I have ever read... you have to read this part" as if they would want to sit there and read it after I told them it was awful. HAHA. Sometimes I just need to know I am not the only one!
Do you have a favorite young adult series? Or a favorite of all the classics? Do you blog at all, or post your reviews anywhere?
I haven't read Nerve yet, (actually have never heard of it) but did just check out the description as I read your message... and I could see where it could get on your nerves without even picking it up! What about it annoyed you the most? Can I ask what made you pick it up to start reading? I could see where the subject matter sounds very strange and sort of different, but what was it for you that had you buying it?
I also hate being negative about books... but I think your right in saying that when they get on your nerves that much... it is hard not to.
Also... I can't think of one that annoyed me to the point of like frustration, but I did start reading Mrs. Poe by Lynn Cullen and it drove me nuts. I had very high expectations when I got it, because I love Poe, and the idea of a love affair happening was exciting. I will tell you... the book was everything but exciting and usually I will push through a book to finish it... but Mrs. Poe remains on my shelves unfinished! Ha! Have you ever heard of it?
