Looking for a Science Fiction Romance. I believe it was a three part serial and then may have been combined into 1 book. The h is stationed on a space ship, she sees the captain somewhere where he shouldn't be but doesn't know what it is about. The captain takes a dislike to her thinking she knows something and assigns her to a special unit and orders her to hunt down some alien leader. She is a rookie and everyone believes it is a death sentence. She is on her way with another soldier and their ship is destroyed. The other soldier dies and she is captured by a race of telepathic beings. They have to touch someone and then they can read everything in your mind. She is put into a cell on their ship with an alien. The cell is kept in darkness but the alien is able to see in the dark. She later realizes that her cell mate is the one she is supposed to hunt down. His men rescue him and he takes her with him. I don't remember much else. Thank you

What is the hero's job or skills?
I believe I read it late last year. The H can control his mind to resist the telepaths letting them think he is a smuggler or space pirate. I mentioned he can see in the dark and he can also generate some kind of light orb so the h can also see, but doesn't want his captors to know or they will figure out who he is. He is also concerned that when the other aliens touch the h and they read her mind his abilities will be discovered. He also fed her some fake escape plan knowing that she can't block her mind and their captors will believe it.

She is from earth and she is in the military but very low ranking and she is a rookie and hasn't been on the ship very long. I don't think she has very many skills. I believe the elite group the captain assigns her to is called "Delta". I don't remember if it is Delta Force or something like that. As I said before, everyone else believes the captain is trying to get back at her and that this is a death sentence since others have tried to find this leader and have failed.
