Hi everyone,

This is the first of what will hopefully be a monthly discussion about what our community is reading.

I'll start:

This month I have been reading Auslander by Mary Powell, Oreo by Fran Ross and A Short History of Women by Kate Walbert.

Darcy | 2 comments I'm almost done with The Drowning by Camilla Lackberg -- just can't get enough of those Scandinavian thrillers! I'm teaching a creative writing class right now, so I'm moving carefully through Mary Karr's The Art of Memoir. Next will get into The Sellout by Paul Beatty. Has anyone read it yet? I'm looking forward to it. I'm a huge Jane Austen fan, and I think I may go to this event next Friday: Director Whit Stillman will discuss Love and Friendship: In Which Jane Austen's Lady Susan Vernon is Entirely Vindicated between screenings of Love & Friendship (7 p.m.) and The Last Days of Disco (9:15 p.m.) at The Texas Theatre, 231 W. Jefferson Blvd., Dallas. If any of you attend, let me know. I'd love to meet you. :-)

Darcy | 2 comments If you enjoy Ausland, Hannah, I'd recommend Louise Erdrich's The Master Butchers Singing Club. It was magnificent.

I'm reading How Music Works and am slowly savoring an essay or two per night from Run Gently Out There: Trials, Trails, and Tribulations of Running Ultramarathons -- John Morelock passed away in late February, and it is a small way to fill the void left from his once daily social media quips and wisdom. Earlier this month, I reread Marathon: You Can Do It! and found I am no more teachable than the first time I read it in 2013.

Ghost in the Stacks Just joined this group. Was kind of exited about seeing what was going on book wise in the DFW.

Ghost in the Stacks Its May, But I am currently reading Snow Angels (Inspector Kari Vaara, #1) by James Thompson

And I run a book Club here in the Dallas Area called Book Pub , we are reading Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris this month.
