Roblin didn't notice, and continued to adjust the wheels, finally tapping the lever. The telescope started to glow, and warmed up.

Roblin realised for the first time Madeline was so close to him and stiffened, unsure of how to move on. The telescope continued to hum as he felt his cheeks redden.
"That came out wrong..." Roblin giggled, still bright red. "But I'm fine." The jar under the telescope filled with a orange light. Roblin distracted himself by carefully removing the hot jar.
Roblin set it on the roof, mesmerised by the dancing light. He shook his head and turned back to the maps, still aware of Madeline behind him.
"Yeah." Roblin agreed, pausing his work and looking at it. "You wanna catch the next one?" He asked, moving away from the telescope and gesturing to her.
Madeline nodded, She took a step forwards to the telescope. She nimbly adjusted the wheels, checked and place a jar under the telescope, then tapped the lever. A small blue light entered the jar and she beamed, holding it up. She started to feel a burn on her hands, but she didn't drop the jar.
Roblin's eyes widened. "Hey, you're really good!" He took the star from her gingerly, still wearing the gloves. Turning it around in his palm, he shrugged. "But I guess you get a lot of practice, with this view."
Roblin noticed the burns and dropped the jar, nearly breaking it. "You're hurt! I should've given you the gloves..." He cursed lightly (since he didn't know that many swears) and cradled her hands, looking carefully at the burns. "It's too dark..." He snapped his fingers and a small beam of light reflected on her hands, illuminating them.
"I'm fine." Madeline wanted to pull her hands away from Roblin's, but she felt quite comfortable and couldn't bear to.
Roblin raised an eyebrow and looked closer. "You don't happen to be hiding any other talents that could cure this?" He teased, still holding her hand with one hand and searching his pockets with the other.
Roblin didn't notice her blush and brought out a small bottle, shaking it. "I'm sorry..." He moaned.
Madeline smiled, acknowledging Roblin that it was okay. She just wanted to get the project done, and enjoy the leftover time with Roblin.
Roblin smiled sheepishly and rubbed the potion on her hand. He waited a moment, then scraped off the hardened liquid. Her hands were free of burns. He let go as soon as he was positive it worked, then started taking off the gloves. "You better wear these now."
"Thanks." Madeline said. "But I'm fine." She placed the gloves back into Roblins' hands. She smiled at him.
Roblin gave a small smile back, dimple showing. He slipped on the gloves and ducked down to the telescope again, bringing up a new map. "Just two more." He started adjusting the dials, but not getting the accurate position. Every time he clicked the lever, the jar stayed empty. He groaned in annoyance.
Madeline placed her hands lightly on Roblins' and adjusted the dials. She clicked the lever and a small green and purple swirl of light entered the jar.
((This is just like that scene in the first book! With Dex and Sophie!!!!! 0.0))Roblin grinned. "Th-thanks." He stammered, picking up the star gingerly. "You take the last one?"
Madeline nodded, quickly adjusting the dials and clicking the lever. A small red light blasted into the jar and she gingerly placed it on the floor.
Roblin checked her hands quickly for burns, then flushed when there was none. "Just being careful." He protested. He lined up the four jars. "Now we need to figure out the pattern. And then get the next star."((Yuk. Just like algebra.))
((Sigh. I know, real life problems get into rps, am I right?))Madeline sighed. She hated the parts that involved patterning and math-like skills were required.
Roblin tried rearranging them. "You got any ideas?" He noticed she wasn't really trying and elbowed her playfully. "Hey, the sooner we get the fifth star, the sooner we're done, right?"
Roblin ran through more possibilities, mouthing the ideas without him realising. "Primary colours?" He tried, then sighed.
"Red and orange are hot colours. And the others are all cool. Maybe we need to even it out with another hot colour?" He shrugged, then bolted upright. "I know!" He started to sort through the maps, using wind to bring them to him, then toss them over his shoulder when it wasn't what he was looking for. He finally found one at the bottom checked it, then started to twist the dials. He paused, and stepped back. "You should do it. Obviously." He was speaking rapidly.
Madeline smiled, stepping forwards and checking the dials. She twisted to of them, then clicked the lever. A small yellow blob shot out into the jar and she carefully removed it and placed it onto the floor.
Roblin sorted the jars and then stepped back. "Red, orange, and yellow, then green and purple, and blue." He grinned. "Done!" He started packing them away. "What now?"
Madeline shrugged. "Maybe...you wanna...stay over?" She smiled at Roblin, hoping he'd stay with her a little longer.
Roblin paused. He had never really done anything like that before. But there's always a first time. He grinned widely back. "Sure. That'll be great!"
Madeline grinned. "Thanks." She started heading down the stairs into her room, gesturing for Roblin to follow her.
Roblin packed up the jars and hung the bag over the telescope, intending to pick them up later. He followed her, taking the stairs two at a time.
"Wha..." Roblin followed her gaze. "Oh, the jars. No, I'm fine." He went to her room and leaned against the wall. "So, what do ya wanna do?"
"You want some mallowmelt?" Madeline asked, reaching for a small blue jar under her bed, revealing many more blue jars.
Roblin nearly slipped off the wall. "You seriously think anyone would say no?" He grinned and flicked his bangs, sitting crosslegged on the rug.
Madeline grinned mischievously, grabbing a different blue jar. She knew exactly which ones were pranks which ones weren't. "Here." She passed a jar to Roblin. Inside was exploding mallowmelt.
((You little... :P))Roblin hesitated when he saw her grin, but then again, who in their right mind would joke about mallowmelt?! He took the jar eagerly, twisting off the lid.
(( :P ))A lot of mallowmelt exploded in his face, and when Madeline thought he couldn't see, she replaced the jar in his hand with an actual jar of mallowmelt, and placed a new bomb in the jar and placed it under her bed.
Roblin froze, feeling the goo trickle down the back of his neck. Then he started laughing, bending over and getting more marshmallow goo on the rug.
Madeline started to clean it up, but then shrugged and licked the purple and blue swirled rug covered in mallowmelt.
Roblin stopped laughing and started swiping his finger over his face, wiping off the goo. He still had chunks by his eyebrows, which he kept on. It looked like he had thick white eyebrows.
Madeline laughed, reaching into her pocket for a blue handkerchief, which she tried to wipe up Roblin's goo eyebrows with.
Roblin wiped them off and ate them. "Thanks." he said sarcastically, knowing she did that on purpose. "And I would open you're locker with caution from now on." He grinned.
