Zander talks to her parents via letters for real and has real conversations with them. Cassie almost dies in this section and it freaked me out!! At the end of the section, Zander's mom comes and visits her. The book is almost at a close and it is AWESOME! I highly recommend this to anyone who can deal with a little bit of profanity.
