This will contain spoilers because the only character's name I remember is the killer.

It was either on a movie set or a Play set. People in the movie or Play keep getting murdered. Person trying to solve the crimes is a guy.

The killer turns out to be someone on set but not one of the actors. I think her name is Cassie and she is envious of all the glamour because she thinks of herself as plain Of coarse she is caught in the end.

I do not know what year it came out but was read by me in the Nineties if that helps.

Something else I Remembered..at the end, the murderer Cassie has a gun and starts talking about an affair she had with one of the actors who says some terrible things to her afterward. I do not remember if he is one of her victims. Eventually (I think) she is talked down and gives up the gun.

She (the murderer) says one of her motivations is that she slept with someone on set(cannot remember who but may have been director) and afterward he cuts her down very cruely by saying he only slept with her to see what sleeping with a not beautiful woman would be like. I think she is one of the people she kills and I am almost positive her name is Cassie or Cassandra. If anyone could help me find this I'd appreciate it.
