Did you believe "William Scoffield" when he first approached Alex about Melanie? Were you surprised to learn he was really a Texas Ranger?

Just to refresh my memory - he's the guy who accosted Alex in the shopping mall?

If so, then I remember feeling that there was something off about him and was surprised when he turned out to be a Ranger.

He first approached her in her office, introducing himself as Melanie's father's lawyer.

I forgot that. I only remembered him from the mall.

I didn't know enough about Melanie at that point so I couldn't really judge. But, I thought the timing was suspect so I gave him the side eye.

I found him odd that he kept going back to her office. But odd or not, he did save her in the mall.

I didn't think he was dangerous, but I didn't believe he was who he said he was.
