Just for clarification, is shelf and thread the same thing? I never understood this. There isn't another place we should be siting these monthly tag reads...

Shelves are what we called tags on Shelfari. We add a tag (or put a book on a shelf) to denote genre, or location, or whatever....
But... in this case, the group "shelf" is a "bookshelf". Scroll to the top of the page and look on the right hand side. You'll see links. There is a link called "bookshelf". If you click that, you can add a book to the PBT bookshelf.
So, if you read a book for the monthly tag, or for our annual challenges (Climbing the Stairs, Hitting the High Notes), also click on the bookshelf link and add your book.
Next you can "edit" the book on the shelf. When that window pops up, you'll see an option to "choose shelves". Look at the list available to you and choose the appropriate "shelf" (i.e. tag).
So, if the book you read is for the "ireland" tag, then choose "Ireland" from that list. If you are adding the book that you read for one of the annual challenges, there are also "shelves" (i.e. tags) for each of those ("Climbing the PBT Stairs" or "Hitting the PBT High Notes".

It would be less confusing if GR used "tags", not "shelves" as the term, so as to not get confused with group bookshelves.
Ok - I always post on the thread, but have never once used the group bookshelf link. So this part was new.

So does each member shelve their own books on the group shelf, or do the admins do this shelving. I have not been shelving, but if I am supposed to I will start.

It helps me out... it just makes it faster for me, but it's not "required". If you don't, I should catch it for you.
Just a note that I don't go through the High Notes or PBT Stairs to add those, so the only books added to those shelves are what people do themselves. I do the monthly tag every month, though.
I always forget to shelve...I am a bad example.

Note to self. Must shelve books, particularly high notes and climbing the stairs.
